In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Post pics of your home snake room!

People who don't live in my house might notice the smell of pine bedding upon entry, maybe, but most people don't even seem to notice that I have an abundant amount of rodents. So I like to think they can't smell them to much lol

No Willow, they wait til they leave and then tweet about how SMELLY your place is.lol

Randy, for the insulation itch use.......Pantyhose. Stretch the pantyhose out and rub it back and forth over any exposed areas. It pulls the little fiberglass splinters out and then wash with cold water. The room is coming along, but doesn't look like you have near enough receptacles.

Just this for now lol

on the back wall where there is two receptacles will use one for a herpstat pro 4 going to two 30 tub freedom breeder 70 quart breeder racks, where there is four receptacles will be a hepstat pro 4 going to three 22 tub vision 35 quart racks. That leaves four extra on that wall......three, one will go to the incubator. Then on the wall where my counter is has six or eight I believe. four on the wall that has the 150 tub baby racks which will use a herpstat pro 4. Two on the spare wall and eight by my desk.

did a little more drywall today

Jeremy, at least your starting out right with getting the big 1st.
Randy, it looks great and very clean! My work area has to be in order as I go and cleaned up when done for the the day. Did I say it really looks good?

now I see some receptacles lol. First set of pics only showed 1. Looks good Randy. Bet you are tired after swinging those early shifts and then come home to that size of a project. Congrats though, it's looking good.

I just moved the little bit of furniture out of this room and am about to move my 20 or so snakes in a couple rack setups in here. The pic with the window will have a 3'wide by 6'tall on left side of the window and go across the bottom of the window another 5' and will be 2' deep. This will be for my lav tiger retic. Then on the right side of the window I will build a 3'wide into the corner and wrap the corner another 3'wide. Maybe a total of 4 or 5 enclosures high. In the corner will be a slide out divider. I will house my keepers/breeders here. This way all I have to do is pull the divider out, so they can mate up. So these enclosures will be 3'w x 18"d x 1't. The rest of the walls will have rack setups and in the middle of the floor will be my futon to watch them and tv.

Randy I got to ask since your building your snake room. Did you install a sprinkler system? The very last picture you uploaded sorta looks like you did. If so that's an awesome idea. Been watching this post seeing how its coming along, its really nice so far :) inspiring.

I do enjoy seeing everyone else's rooms too. I find it neat that is the same basic idea, yet everyone has their own unique style :)

Well..... since everyone else is posting, so will I. Mine is a 10x10 (approximate due to my lack of building experience) room in my barn. I am using Animal Plastics racks with Belly Heat. I am using a plug in thermostat with an oill heater. I am using a Sensor Hawk system with Cloud Hawk for temperature/humidity monitoring with sms alerts. I am using a timer to turn on/off the light inside. Still working on getting everything set up, but should be able to move the snakes in this weekend.

Here's the start of mine. Painted and waiting for it to dry so I can get trimwork done and covers back on. It's been updated a bit since, but I'm waiting for new racks to come in and be rearranged before I take any more.

Used to be the most ungodly salmon-peach color, but is now painted in my two favorite colors, cream and Belize tropical blue. Not sure what I'm going to do with the chalkboard that runs around the center. :shrug01:

I have had so many people ask me about it and the answer is......its not finished!!!! I have been getting up at 3 am for work and working 10 hour days, along with some weekends. This along with coaching little league has left me kinda unmotivated! I did go out yesterday and finish all the wiring. I also drywalled the last big wall. I am going to try and get help tomorrow to hang the last 4 sheets on the ceiling. If I can get that done and mud tomorrow, I will shoot texture on Wednesday and paint Friday. If all goes as planned within a couple of weeks the floor will be in and preperation for snakes.

Here is my current setup. I house rats and reptiles in the same room but i have design a unique way to trap the dust and smell of the rats and allow easy access enjoy thanks

My room is in the corner of my basement. It is probably about 16x28. It consists of snakes, lizards, and fish. The first two shots are of the "display area" the one cage is a 12x4 and 8 feet high. It currently houses two adult male tegus (one red and one b&w). They are currently hibernating, so no pictures.

The other shot is of the display wall that partitions off the rest of the room. My Breeding Quad of Sailfin Dragons is in the top cage (8x3x4) and my (hopefully) soon to be proven breeding quad of Merauke Blue Tongue Skinks is in the bottom (8x2x2)
