Will female bearded dragons have a period, like other female animals! I have no idea, this is my 1st reptile! THANKS!
Female beardies will lay infertile eggs even if they have never come in contact with a male. I have a 3 year old who just started laying clutches of eggs this spring. 3 clutches so far and she has never even seen a male.
They can lay infertile eggs as early as 12-14 months old, and most of them will be flabby, shaped like a soft, half filled water balloon. When they look like that, they are definite duds. If the dragon has mated, occasionally there will be plump infertile eggs in amongst the fertile ones, but they can be candled and you can tell the difference early on because they don't develop the veins after a week or so like the fertile ones.
