In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

R.I.P Chuck Kimmel (critical bill) :(

Chuck would say the funniest things :), but he also dealt with issues that effected people's livelihoods...issues that revolved around people and animals being mistreated. We often see "give them (wrongdoers) enough rope, and they will hang themselves with it." However (on occasion), Chuck said "forget the rope," and pulled out the guns. He made that judgment call, when he felt that more aggressive tactics were necessary.

In doing so, he put money back in people's pockets (albeit indirectly), and warned others from getting scammed out of theirs. He helped convince certain individuals to change their ways. Chuck really is a huge benefit to this community. I say "is" because his posts will remain to help guide others in doing the right thing. We are all very proud and grateful of Chuck...he will be dearly missed.

P.S. Right about now, I picture Chuck ripping the big guy upstairs a new one, for cutting his time here short.

RIP Chuck

When I think of Fauna, I think of "Critical Bill". He was such an integral part of this forum, a huge persona, but an honorable man. I was so deeply saddened to learn of his passing this morning, and I can't stop the tears from streaming down my face, though I never had the pleasure of getting to know him personaly. To Maggie and the kids - your husband and father touched far more people then I think he and you could even imagine. Rest gently now! Your work here is done - you set the bar for current and future herpers - I hope we make you proud!

What he did for us and the Fauna community will live on through the memories we have.
I believe that Heaven will never be the same........

I have been trying to find words to express how I feel. I sat last night and read the entire thread regarding Chucks illness and then his wife letting us know he died. I could not come up with anything at all. I still can't but I just saw where someone said Chuck was the hero of the BOI. Those are the words I was looking for. This place will not be the same without him. No one stood up for those taken advantage of with more zeal than Chuck. It just will not be the same around here.
I have never been this upset over the death of someone that I never met but to read Chucks posts you do start to feel that you know him, at least a little.
Chuck was a larger than life person and there will be a huge hole in the BOI where Chuck used to be.
I also want to express my sympathy to Chucks family. Please know that Chuck was very loved here by many and will be missed greatly.

To the family of Chuck aka Critical Bill. I wish that I could have known him better however I enjoyed his persona here. My thoughts and prayers are with you all in this very hard time.

Stick together, stay strong in your faith and know that your husband and father was well loved in this world and will be missed.

Chuck Kimmel

After receiving the news and the feeling like I was kicked in the chest subsided I sat and wrote the following about / to my friend:
A friend of mine I never met.
Never meeting I do regret.
If we had we’d have had a ball.
Your loss will affect us, one and all.
The memory of you is etched here in time.
To be taken so early is truly a crime.
I feel sorrow for your children and wife.
They’ll miss you for the rest of their life.
I wish I could have met you my friend.
Eventually we’ll all be together in the end.
You were one of a kind, like no other.
Rest in peace, I will miss you my brother.

I never met Chuck either, but his posts were always entertaining. He usually got the point across better than anyone else. He will definitely be missed! RIP Chuck...and my condolences to his family...

Chuckisms ....

He made me laugh, made me grin, made me think, and inspired. He even made me wince a few times ... but he never failed to be true to what he believed and cared about.

I respect Rich and I respect his vision for what he'd like his site to be.

xxxxxx, dont name names like that in a post on the fauna feedback forum you knucklehead. Its a forum for feedback about fauna, not your personal feelings about other members.
Stuff like that can launch a war in here and its exactly what Rich is trying to detract from this site.

Not that your feelings don't count, but my idea is we make a thread Hell where we can all lay out our feelings for one another and what puts each of us off about each other.
Maybe we'll understand where we all stand and not do the things that get us clawing at each others throats in other vital areas of the board."

I was doing ok, till you posted my last memory of him... Thank you for remembering. He was SWEET...he was sweet, stood for what he believed, was a man of integrity and helped those that he felt needed it.:crying::crying::crying:

I don't know what to say....I have read through all of these pages, I have to admit - alot I couldn't really read because of the tears in my eyes. The picture of "Vince" was the best - made me laugh, which I didn't think was possible right now. Also, some of his quotes, they were wonderful, as was he!

Rich, please don't be mad at me for saying this - I know the only thing that would have made him happier about this place was to have Wes back. I know a lot of people will not know what I am talking about, but he truly admired and cared about Wes. I know that Wes was a "thorn in your side" - but for Charles to admire someone so much says alot to me. I just couldn't live with myself if I didn't say his name and say how much he meant to Charles. Rich, he understood everything you have ever done and had such an incredible amount of respect of you and what you try to accomplish with this place everyday.

I just got home from the funeral home and made his final arrangements. We are going to have a one day service for 3 hours because Charles' wish was to be cremated and did not want to be "laid out". He didn't want anyone going through that grief for 3 days...that is just how he was.

My husband hated seeing anyone get the "shaft" and that is what drove him to do what he has done here for so many years. He always had a way of seeing through people, or seeing through their typing. He could catch a lie in a second, trust me!!!

This place meant a great deal to him and I hope that it thrives and continues for many years to come.

i think that Chuck will giggle from Heaven if Wes is allowed to come back.
He and Chuck often tag teamed on the BOI. I know that Wes was not loved by everyone, but I for one would love to have him back!

Maggie if there's anything I can do for you, ask, don't be shy. We loved Chuck and we love you!

Though, like many of you, I didn't have the honor of meeting Chuck in person, I couldn't agree more with much of what has been said.

Chuck has been one of the few people that had earned my respect in life. One of the few that was willing to stand up for what he felt was right regardless of what others said. His contributions to the BOI, Fauna in general, and as far as I'm concerned all of our lives, will be missed greatly, but never forgotten.

It's amazing how a person can have such an impact on so many lives without ever even meeting many of the people who have been influenced. I for one, though I am not anywhere near as active as I used to be on here, will surely miss Chuck. Not only for his crazy antics and brutal honesty, but for the fact that... well... mostly for his brutal honestly actually...

Rest in Peace Chuck...
