Tom, I did not read this whole thread. I read that AA was putting the screws on ALL Americans because of the actions of 1 person, I commented on that only. I do not know Ellis and dont agree with anyone that does not pay their bills. hope that clears it up for you.

If you are one to continue doing business with or in some way defend the actions of Ellis than most likely you might also be considered a person of the same caliber as Ellis ?

sorry to pounce on you....
My last post may seem like I may have, but that was not my Intention.
I on the otherhand hope people will no longer buy animals from Randall Ellis...
He and the likes of him hurt the herp community as a whole from both a business and private keepers point of view IMHO.
We all know that the purpose of the BOI is to enhance the hobby by supporting honest legitimate people and businesses and expose and weed out the rotten eggs.
$12,000 plus dollars Is a lot of money to rip someone off of and the fact that the victims live overseas makes It particularly difficult and expensive for the
victims to recover that money...Note: I call them victims because when one reads through AA's correspondence with Reptile locator's,one can see by the multitude of excuses (Lame ones at that !) Ellis gives AA for not making payment that he Intended to Defraud them..

I am glad that the lawmakers are seeing fit to work with the people from Texas, I have some good friends that live there and I know what it would do to them to lose thier snakes. I am glad that Ellis' name did not get mentioned but as the post in the link uses words like "might and looks like" tells me the these meeting are not over and that a lot of things could happen that no one will know until it is over and the votes are in. So there are still alot of naybes and what ifs to come. Remember we (in Florida) have been going through the same thing here in the past several month (almost a year) and it is not over yet and at the start we were saying the same thing as the post you wanted me to read. Now we are going to have to pit tag animals have a special permit for large constrictors and some monitors and the list goes on and on. Good luck on this HB1309 I do hope I am wrong and Ellis did not hurt your cause.

Dear All,

Could you please advice us what licences are needed in the USA in order to import reptiles and deal in the trade with them?
Also which authority is issuing these licences?
Are they issued to a company only or to private persons as well?
Is the licence issued for a particular facility?
And last but not least where can we check what licence Randall Ellis has?

reply about his business deals good or bad anything.
the low end of the spectrum is the reptile trade .

Maria,
A commercial operation like reptile locator's or Randall Ellis requires an Import/export permit issued by the US Fish and wildlife service
www.fws.gov
All commercial importers/exporters of wildlife require this licence.
Anyone can acquire this licence ..you included. One does not need to reside in the US but if you intend on doing regular imports of wildlife to the US
you might have to get one?
I used to have one but it has expired. It was suggested to me by the Canadian wildlife service inspectors in my province to get one based on the number of snakes I import from the US, but technically I'm not a commercial operator so i don't need one.

Your defense of the situation is odd. Could it be that you have something to gain? Pictures or no pictures, there is a substantial amount of money owed. I would not have taken only $1,000 either because a case can be made in favor of Randy that the debt is settled by accepting it. Randy, if you're reading this you need to do the right thing here. It's up to you to settle this debt. After all AA got nothing and you got some animals.

No I've have nothing to gain.I should have said also RANDEELRandell you owe the money even though you offered to send some money that AA declined to accept send it as they wanted the full amount. Why should she give a list of her customers? That's not information that I would share with potential competitors. Ellis admitted he owes the money. Everyone here who keeps harping on the quality of the animals should read the emails where he did just that.

thought I would tell my experience with that shipment......I bought (4) Ball
Pythons (Baby females) 11/06 At the San Antonio show.... All died in 2-3 weeks....They all ate....But would not waste....Then one by one they started
spinning and died.....The last one we soaked in warm water and helped massage out a lump near the rear ,which was a rock hard turd...Then it died....Justin Bryant (My employee) Bought one also.....His died at home with the same symptoms....That was 5 for 5....Not good odds......I would like
to see if anyone in the Whole Wide World got a shipment of Reptiles from
AA? Anyone? What did they send you? Just curious about the shape and
condition of the Reptiles.
I'm Not condoning Randells' behavior....I talked to him last week and asked many questions...Asked him why he doesn't post to Stop speculation....Or
to make some sort of payment......Couldn't get a straight answer... He did

Quarantined Thank God!

Scott I didn't have any necropsied....I did have them Quarantined. Justin
Bryant did not.....His only other Ball Python Died within a month of the one
purchased from Randell at the San Antonio Hot Show(From similar
behavior as the WC). It was a 100% het from Sterling CBB Over 1 yr in his collection. He froze it for a while but, later discarded when no other snakes
were affected.....Very Strange indeed.....
