In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Julia, when you are typing your post click on the "Go Advanced" button. Then click on the button under "Additional Options" that says "Manage Attachments." From there you can upload the pictures to this thread.

Also, make sure you refrain from using profanity, as you can receive an infraction for doing so.

The photo captions say she's using them. I had 4 of these cages; the fit was much better on mine. These are very expensive cages and, to me, the photos clearly show there's a problem.

Sorry, where can we clearly see that the OP is using the cage?

I don't see why it's such a crime for the OP to try to use a different email to contact the seller when the seller has completely ignored their attempts to make contact. The OP isn't being unscrupulous here. They spent a LARGE amount of money on a cage that doesn't work, and the seller won't even respond to their inquiries.

The words "fraud" and "blackmail" are far too extreme for what is happening here, unless you're referring to the fraudulent advertisement of a cage that's supposed to work....

The pictures she posted in her profile show the cage is being used, it is fully decorated and includes food dishes with food in them.

I understand that $950 is a large amount of money for something that doesn't work. However it must work well enough to house her lizards. "Work" is subjective, if you claim it doesn't work then it shouldn't be used. Period.

We do not know anything other than what she is posting regarding her supposed contact with the seller and his supposed lack of response. If she came at me with aliases, threats and the you owe me attitude all the while using the cage she is complaining about being unusable and did not give me proof of the damage, I'd wait for it to play out, contact the credit card company with my side of the story and provide them with copies of this thread.

Actually, lying about your identity online is computer fraud. The coercion and blackmail are also evident in the statement where she will give the last number of the credit card and place an order if he does something (fix the track) for her. It's a crime because it is literally a crime.

Sending out a defective cage is not fraud, things happen in shipping, un packing and installation. I agree that if what is represented here is true of the seller than he needs to step up and make things right, but we do not know the full truth about either party's involvement. The only truth we do know is that the cage is being used in the photos posted. That doesn't scream "can't use my big expensive cage" to me.

I am looking at this from a legal standpoint. The buyer needs to provide proof that the cage is defective and cannot be used (so shouldn't have posted picture where it clearly is being used). Since the buyer is using the cage the seller needs to contact the buyer and arrange for a new track to be sent. The OP is being unscrupulous, the cage obviously works, so is making fraudulent statements.

I don't have a dog in this fight, so will bow out, but this type of situation is wrong all the way around; neither is handling it well.

The photos do show a problem that should have been dealt with before furnishing it and using it.

You have much to learn about what is considered fraud and sparking a interest. You not see how law officials fake identities to catch pedophiles, hackers and so forth online.

What she did to get in contact is perfectly legal.

the photos clearly show there's a problem.

^^^I agree with this.

I think the OP needs to settle down a little but she did spend nearly a thousand dollars on a cage that isn't fully usable currently. Which I would be upset over too.

Does the cage manufacturer know of this thread? $950 deserves working glass tracks, whether or not the customer is a pain in the rear or not. (Let it be known I'm not calling the OP a hemorrhoid, merely stating there's no excuse not to replace an obvious part defect)

OP did the cage come with the tracks already installed? Or was this cags assembly required? I'm guilty of not following the directions once and I installed doors upside down, and needless to say they didn't fit. Thinking of all possibilities here.

Actually like I've said I have tons more emails and I did send him all sorts of pics I just wasn't able to post all the emails from my phone

And I had no choice but to use it I had ordered 3 new animals the day I knew the cage shipped so I had nowhere to put them... what was I supposed to do go spend another thousand dollars to buy new cages? That's no fair either... I couldn't leave the new herps in the boxes they came in till he answered me... I had to make is usable and use it or spend more money I don't have right now what would you do?

And in response III e to your computer fraud I never used names or email address that weren't mine or my husband's... and when I placed the second order and didn't include the complete credit card number I used my own name and address and phone number and the same email address I've been using to contact him this whole time so please tell me how I committed any kind of fraud?

It came with the tracks installed and just the 2 pieces of glass you put in yourself. The pieces of glass are exactly the same so trust me I tried putting them in every way possible and no matter how I do it the same result. I forgot to mention that the other side which doesn't stick as soon as you slide it more then 3" over it falls out because on that side the tracks are too far apart so needless to say the first time I tried to slide it I had a large piece of glass fall out towards me so I dropped a bowl of food to catch it so it wouldn't break. This thing was definitely manufactured defectively but like I just posted as soon as I got the email that it shipped I had my breeder send me the 3 new babies I had ordered. I learned my lesson in withing till I have something in my hand before counting on it but for close to $1000 I should have been able to count on it right? I have other pics on the broken computer of the cage the day I got it with nothing in it that I sent to him that very day I wish they repair place would hurry up so I could post all the evidence I have on there as well. And yes the owner of the company knows about this thread I sent him a link to it so he could see and told him I would be happy to remove it or post that he fixed the issue and that I was a satisfied customer. I'm not trying to get a single thing free. Or to made a bad name for this guy and I would be happy to post all sorts of positive stuff if he would just fix it... that's not unreasonable is it? And like I've said before I like the style of the cage and all the features and if it all worked as advertised I'd be happy to buy more so all my cages match that was my intention when I placed the order.

I agree! With a forensic science degree as well as a law enforcement administration degree I'm really not trying to break any laws

This is the email I just sent him as well as sending the pictures yet again... I'm really trying here I don't know what else to do to get him to answer and fix the cage.
To: [email protected]
I'm sending yet another email to see if you will please fix the cage I purchased from you. I'll attach the pics yet again... the glass doesn't fit in the tracks at all correctly... one side is so tight it will not slide at all the other side falls out when I slide it more then 3 inches over. So I have to remove my animals and put them in cloth bags every day so they don't escape just to feed them and clean the cage because in order to do anything inside I have to remove the glass completely. I spent close to $950 and expected them to work. Is that too much to ask? I don't want you to refund my money I just want the cage I bought fixed or replaced so that it works exactly how you advertised it. But if I do not get any response from ukulele I will have no choice but to file a claim with the credit card company and submit all the emails I have saved that I've sent you as well as all the pictures I have of the defects to them refund my money but I'm not a skumbag and don't want to have to do that but I only have a set amount of time to file a claim and if you don't make an attempt to fix these issues I'll have no choice. I work hard for my money and like any other person don't want to feel like I am being screwed so please answer me and work with me to fix this.
Thanks,
Julia

pretty easy at this point

What you need to do is pretty easy at this point. You need to go through with the claim to the cc company. Since he doesnt want to respond at all unless its to make another sale, go ahead and put the claim through. Keep the cage as a freebie for all your troubles, and for what the cc company is going to charge you for the dispute (I think they normally charge $50 for the charge back, $50 seems fitting enough for a broken cage). Be done with it, you tried, cant say you seriously didnt try above and beyond what most would have done, I would have disputed the charge a long time ago, and take your business elsewhere. I bet you can get a whole set of freakin sweet cages, and awesome customer service, for a whole lot cheaper than the thief is trying to charge you. Good luck and keep us posted.

I filed a claim with the credit card company today. I sent the representative there pictures of the cage as well as all of the emails I have sent to them. I was told this case seems pretty clear cut and I should get my money back... that's not what I wanted tho I just wanted them to fix the cage so I could use it but I guess I can't make them do that

also I know its kind of wrong but I placed another order with him and put the credit card number missing one number and in the comments told him if he fixed the one i have i would give him the last number to place the order.

I'm trying to understand what is going on here.

On the 21st you said you filed a claim with the credit card company. Instead of waiting for the claim to proceed, on the 26th you sent an additional order to the seller you just claimed against, but changed a number so it wasn't really an order.

Then on the 27th, you send him another email, the claim has already been filed a week ago according to you, but now you again say you are going to file if he doesn't come through?

I worded that incorrectly... I filed a dispute with the cc company. From what they told me it's not a formal claim it's more like them being the mediator between both parties and a formal claim is them making the decision.. so I filed a dispute not a claim. And I really wish he would fix it because I really wanted to have all my cages match... I want to buy more... but not if they are all going to be broken. I called the cc Co to see if he had responded to their attempt to get his side of things and they said he hasn't answered them yet and hung up on them but I can't file the claim till the 31st because they give people a certain set number of days to respond. I really don't want to have to file the claim I feel bad.. I know how hard it is to make a living running your own business and losing almost a thousand dollars hurt bad but I need to stop feeling bad and being so nice and keep reminding myself he dug his own grave here not me. I have to admit I haven't done more to get my money back thus far because I honestly feel guilty doing it... that's just who I am I guess... and like I've been told my whole life I need to stop being so nice because I just end up a door mat getting walked all over. I've run out of ideas of how to get this guy to answer me... short of knocking on his door which I can't do seeing that he's thousands of miles away I've tried everything else

stop

Stop worrying about it girl. I have to tell my wife that kind of thing all the time. Do you think he has put one ounce of worry into resolving your issue? Do you think he has put one ounce of worry thinking about how you feel in this situation? Do you think he has put one ounce of worry into taking your money without giving you what you purchased? NO! I bet he sure hasnt even put another thought into it. He has been given the chance to make things right, and the chance to keep your $1000 and everyone walk away from the table happy. He hasnt even humored this suggestion, so it seems like he isnt worried about you or your broken cage at all. Quit trying to contact him, let the cc company sort it out (it sounds like things are already going your way if he hung up on them) and buy a complete matching set of cages from one of his competitors for much cheaper. Seriously I bet you are losing sleep worrying about this, my wife does it all the time with things that arnt her fault or are out of her hands. Wash your hands of the situation and sleep easy knowing you did everything in your power to make it right on both ends. I have received several broken enclosures in the mail before, and the sellers always ship a new one out that day. I have never even had to ship the broken ones back, all I had to do was show proof. The seller can make a claim with the shipping company and get all their money back for the broken one, so it is no skin off their butts to replace it.

And so despite the fact that they were merely mediating, they told you that this case seemed clear cut and you should get your money back?

If you did ask for a mediation, I think it is premature to sent him emails threatening to file a claim unless he fixes the cages. I think he knows if he does not respond you have the option to do that, all this other stuff including the 'purchase' with the missing credit card number is not in my opinion being nice, despite how you are painting it.

The 31st is a few days away. File and be done with it.

So if someone sold you something you really really wanted for almost a thousand dollars and it didn't work you wouldn't try every thing you could think of to get them to fix it? If I have to get the money back so be it but I'd rather have it fixed... I've had a dream of having a set of these cages for a long time and besides it being broken I feel like my dream is broken as well cause I'll never had the set of cages I've wanted so much... can you really blame me for doing everything I could to have it fixed so I don't have to let go of my dream? I want more then anything to have this one work and have 3 more working ones maybe even 4. Sorry I took it too far in your opinion... I just wish you could see it from my point of view and see what my reasons are for every action I took...

Ok, so you're here for what resolution? You emailed them, called them, and they have yet to answer you. I think you have your answer...It seems as though their customer service is lacking, and they don't care.

If you want your money back, then file a claim. If you want the cages, and for them to be fixed, then fix them and be done with it. It doesn't sound like they care either way.

Thank you for that! I just hope that anyone thinking about buying anything from this company sees this and thinks again... they are very nice looking cages and I'd totally be in love with it if it worked right but after everything I've been through I really hate the dang thing now!
