• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just a heads up. This scammer 'scrapmetal' answered my Fauna ad about three hours ago. The usual game to get personal info, be careful.

Just a heads up.
As always, great job posting.

That's his phone number at top
Thank you for posting your text too Corbin.

As a point of reference for all, screenshots are really good. Typing the important key information out is one step better ;). Search engines read typed "text" versus image files. By typing out, "the scammer's number was 727-308-1398", now others can cross reference it better. Helpful heads up.

Thank you all for contributing to the Board of Inquiry and helping look out for one another.

Its a weird form of spam...

First email I thought it was an interested customer... second email I still thought it was serious until I read theyll send me a cashiers check or MO with an additional $40 for the inconvience, and let me know when someones coming to pick it up. I emailed back and said their email looked like spam and I only accept paypal and they didnt email back.
They then sent an email from a different ad and I replied with "paypal only" and they never responded.

They also contacted me 2 days ago and got theverything same exact response..I knew what was up so Googled the email and saw they have been doing it a while.

Funny how they think it will still work

This person emailed me about Redfoot tortoise hatchlings. Saying they were very interested. Said they couldn't use PayPal so they would need to send me a bank check. Asked for my phone number address and total cost for shipping. I don't know if they were fishing for my address to try and come steal reptiles or what but I gave them my office address. Of course nothing arrived. And they emailed me saying something that there secretary over paid me and I would need to deposit the money into their account. I just stopped responding.

Pardon me, but we have not suddenly had a rule change whereby derogatory name-calling has become acceptable practice here. I have been seeing a number of instances as of late. Even if the shoe fits in some situations, there is a standard we have been seeking to maintain. I will take any further instances to task.
