In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

reptibid.com INSANE PROMO

Well...I happened to win one of the cricket tubes...and well...the container is a Fluker's container, the label said BugDepot.com, and auction had links to reptilemax.....lol

just a few questions

how many cricket suppliers (local and through the net) actually buy from fluker farms? I know that the 4 local shops here all use flukers... Also, how are you sure that reptilemax and bugdepot are owned by the same company? Can you give hard evidence? if not than is the BOI really the place for all of this?

Hmm...

You bring up an interesting point. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out if they are allowned by Flukers. I willd o some research today and let everyone know what I am able to find. There are business licenses and corporations involved so finding out who owns what shouldn't be too difficult...will post later about what I find out.

Here was my original post:

I won a bearded dragon in a promo auction ReptiMax sponsered through ReptiBid. When my package arrived, there was no beardie in it! I called ReptiMax, only to be told that the person I needed to talk to wasn't in and that if I left a message I would be called back later that day. NO ONE EVER CALLED!!! I called again the next day...still nothing! I called several times and left messages and never heard back from anyone!

Today when I got home, my daughter told me we received another package. It was EMPTY as well! Needles to say, I am VERY upset. First of all, ReptiMax did NOT contact me saying that they were sending out another beardie. What if no one had been home? Secondly, here is the "container" they shipped the beardie in:

A sandwich container!!! If any of you have ever purchased a sandwich in a container like this, you know how easily they pop open. The slighest amount of pressure and they pop open...

Well think about the pressure which caused the box to look like this:

You can see why I am upset...

Two poor little beardies lost in transit...probably dead somewhere! And CRAPPY customer service to boot!

And here is what I wrote after I finally talked to someone:

I finally heard from ReptiMax. They said that they suspect that someone from FedEx is STEALING the beardies. He said that they had rather NOT send out another one, but that it was my choice. I finally said to forget it and to refund my money. I'll just get one from friend here that breeds them. At least I'll know it is healthy!

He tried to be apologetic, but it still didn't make me feel any better about the whole thing. He tried to say that I was the only person this has happend to. Somehow I doubt that!

Anyway, the whole thing left a VERY bad taste in my mouth!

And here is a copy of the letter I sent to ReptiBid...their response is also included. I took out my phone #'s, though. Of course, this was before I knew they were owned by the same company!

Subject: Complaint about ReptiMax...(pictures included and a very LONG message...)

Hello,

I am writing because I am having a lot of trouble with ReptiMax. I won one of the insane promo bearded dragons (which I can't find the auction anymore). When I first received my package, the container inside of the box was open and there was no beardie in the package. I contact reptimax several times and kept being told that someone would call me back...I never heard from anyone!!!

Today when I arrived home from work, my daughter said we got another package. It was EMPTY as well. I didn't even know reptimax was going to send another beardie out. I am upset for several reasons:
1. I have gotten 2 shipments and NO bearded dragon!
2. I've not been able to get any help from the people at reptimax.
3. I received a shipment without being notified! what if no one had been home to receive it?
4. There are 2 beardies loose in transit somewhere...probably dead!
5. The containers which ReptiMax shipped the beardie in are NOT suitable for shipping a reptile in. It was a plastic sandwich container which pops open at the slightest amount of pressure.

You'll notice in the included pictures that the container wasn't even TAPED shut!
The box that the beardie was shipped in was crushed
Here are some pictures of the container and the end of the shipping box:

(pictures were the same ones as posted above)

Here is an e-mail I sent to reptimax a little while before writing to you:

Subject: Bearded dragon I won in your insane promo...

To whom it may concern,

I am VERY upset with your company. I called several times to let you know that the bearded dragon I won had somehow escaped in transit. I was promised a return call EVERY time. I never heard from anyone regarding how this matter was going to be taken care of.

Today, upon arriving home from work, my daughter informed me that we had received another package from you. IT WAS EMPTY AS WELL!!! The box was crushed (AGAIN!) and the container inside was open. I think you need to use a different kind of container! What gets me is that the container wasn't taped shut or anything! The slightest pressure opens it!

I expect to hear from someone regarding this matter. I will be contacting reptibid if this matter isn't taken care of.

Also, another shipment should have NEVER been sent out without someone contacting me first. What if no one had been home?

I am VERY unsatisfied with your company and will not be recommending it to any of my friends!

Sincerely,
Terri Manning

I was going to wait to contact you, but the more I thought about it, the more upset I got. I decided that this situation needed to be reported to you regardless of what ReptiMax does to rectify this horrible situation. Their lack of professionalism is appalling!

Sincerely,
Terri Manning

P.S. - I was wondering where the auction went. I am unable to leave feedback now...

well at least they where honest by calling the promo INSAIN. i never seen an opean type box like that, it seems it would be very easy for an escape.

at least they made an attempt to send you a 2nd , and offerd a 3rd. i meen if someone is stealing out of the packages, they cant be blamed for that.

No one is stealing the beardies. It is a lame excuse for poor shipping practices.

It's quite possible that someone IS stealing the beardies. Not likely, but possible.

I used to get sent games to review and occasionally they would get lifted by the couriers along the way.

A co-worker sent out a signed edition of one of our games to an acquaintance and the CDs had been lifted from the box before arrival. At least he cancelled the CD key that came with the game, so the thief couldn't play online.

Stolen beardies

Yeah right!

What excellant shipping practices those are. Eat you lunch first and when done, don't throw away the sandwich container, we can save money by shipping animals in it.

All round, these are people to stay well clear of. These are below amatuer business. Infact, I shouldn't mention the word business as it projects an image of a professional establishment.

But they are stolen lizards, wouldn't and couldn't possibly have anything to do with the pathetic shipping containers used?

Don't be surprised the link for leaving feedback disappeared, ooops! Maybe some stole that too!

That's one of my main thoughts regarding the whole thing. If the beardies were shipped in better containers and in insulated boxes like they should be, then no one would be likely to steal them...if that's what really happened. I could see it happening once, but twice...that's unlikely.

The slightest pressure on the box it came in would make the "sandwich container" pop open. The boxes have tons of vertical holes in them that a baby beardie can squeeze through. I'll get a picture of the side of the box by this weekend.

Other proof of them being the same company was in my last post on this thread...however I neglected to add that not only was the container flukers...but the shipping label said Fluker Farms on it...AS WELL AS bugdepot.com!! Also...if they were separate companies...I highly doubt that bugdepot would have been happy with the fact that Reptimax was link in the auction...

I also won 1 of those auctions lol
I was so excited that I had won while I was placing my bid another window popped up and I just closed it ,
it was for payment.. but I didnt realize at the time that I had just lost my only chance at the prize it was horrible

I know I should have slowed down but it was a race lol

it was like hey you won !!!

but you aint getting anything
