    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i ordered a couple of flexwatt heating tapes from Rich at Reptile Basics and he assembled it and shipped it out the very next day. A week later i ordered a Helix dbs1000 thermostat and it got to me 3 days later. He answers all your e-mails the same day, very helpful guy, and the quality of the product is what you would expect it to be. I higly recommend ordering from him for any of your reptile suppy needs :)
 
I agree, I ordered a rack and some supplies from him, and he was very helpful with me as well. And, he is very quick at shipping :thumbsup:

Just out of curiousity, when did you order your thermostat? I ordered one from them (on 12-06-06) and have yet to recieve it... Of course I know that this is a VERY busy time of year for shipping, I'm just hoping it will be coming soon. :)
 
Rich is a GREAT guy! I've ordered a lot of supplies from him. I also get all my flex and tstat's from him too. He answers all your questions and ships your order the next day. I've gotten each and every order from him within 4 days from it being shipped.
 
Rich is awesome..I have 2 of his racks, 2 thermostats and supplies..everytime I ordered ,it was here in 2 days. He answers all e-mails promply, and a great guy to do business with!
 
I ordered some flex watt and wire/clip/insulator sets on Sunday, they got here today (Wed). Very fast shipping, good packaging and quality materials. The free assembly was an added bonus.
 
I placed my order on Dec 3rd. It shipped on the 4th and i recieved it on the 6th. Send him an e-mail Lauren, to make sure it was already shipped. He'll respond right away. :)
 
Glad I read through this

Lauren should have had her stat 2 days later?? It seems to be in limbo and I had no idea she hadn't received it. Just gave her a call.

Of course, rich also has the habit of advertising himself in the threads of other merchants, trying to make them look bad and himself look good, which, in my book, makes him a bit of a heel.

Glad you all got your stuff so quickly though, it's always nice to hear that even those with very poor manners and the morals of a cat in heat do come through.

I thought that was in really poor taste myself.

I had previously done business with Reptile Basics, but based upon those antics I am seriously reconsidering any future purchases from them.

Cat in heat. Thats good. What is the problem with my morals? Oh, thats right, we have done so much business together you know all about my morals! I can't seem to recall when that was though. My records don't seem to contain your name. Perhaps I have questioned your morals at some point that I can not recall?

I very seldom post at all on the BOI and find it pretty laughable you say I am doing it to advertise when your hero pretty much made his name posting on the BOI and every other forum he could latch on to. Constantly posting in about every thread possible. You are completely blind to the tall tales and stories. Please, you can have him and the stories. I have no plans on posting in his threads again for advertising or any other reason. Plans may change but I doubt they will. Those that read his posts will either see the circular logic and excuses for poor performance or they won't. I am all for the competition, if it isn't him it will be someone else. Actually there are currently several others and I do not seem to have conflict with any of them. I know the statement is cliched but I actually have some friends (2 or 3) in the cage business. Why not? Reason: they don't tell me one story while telling two or three others on the net at the same time in public. By the way, how do you get defensive and angry over a phone message you say you never received until after you get angry and defensive?? You probably skipped right over where Matt explained that one didin't you?? Too bad the guy who was waiting on his supplies dropped that one. I was curious. You won't see it till it falls on your head no matter who explains it.

Now, since I see you post in almost every thread on the BOI, the vast majority of which you have absolutely no stake in other than to see your name in print, maybe I should hide my head in the sand and put you on "ignore" like some others suggest?

I definitely think some folks are making a mountain out of a molehill.

Rich made a poor decision to pile on in a competitors bad guy thread, but when people people pointed it out that it was in poor taste he stopped posting in it. What more can really be asked? We all make poor choices sometimes, I dont think this single incident paints Rich in a negative light considering he quickly realized the error of his ways. If he would have kept on going, then yes he would be deserving of any criticism anyone throws at him. But he didnt.

And if memory serves, Rich initially posted in that thread only AFTER this same competitor pulled Rich's name into the thread out of nowhere with some questionable statements of his own about Rich. Rich had a right to respond to that, the piling on was unnecessary though and I believe Rich quickly realized that.

And by the way, I dont know Rich, never talked to the man, never done business with him in any way. Just calling it like I see it.
 
I may be wrong, it's happened, but I seem to recall rich doing the same thing in another thread involving the same guy.

Now if I am wrong, then I do owe rich an appology.

Does anyone recall if Matt's last thread was the first time rich had involved himself, whether invited or not?

Was my final post in the thread in question my greatest achievement, nope. Wasn't my worst either and I will not be apologizing for it to Wes or anyone else. I am VERY frustrated with the dwindling few who seem to have endless excuses and reasons to prop up someone who has not just dropped the ball but lost it. How will they find the ball if it is always ok to drop the same ball? Again and again. You get the idea.

If you did not like my "antics" then I am sorry you had to read them. Please, stop and think of how insulted you feel when you work hard at YOUR job while a co worker sits around, slacks off and makes excuses and yet the boss comes around every couple of weeks and tells them "it's OK, not to worry, you are trying". Really makes you feel good and want to work harder yourself doesn't it? Nope. Horse$%#@. Likely everyone out there older than 25 has had that happen at some point in their life. Think about what you thought and said about it to yourself and others. Yes, I am MAD. I am not generally one to take things all that personally but some of you have insulted me whether you were trying or not. I am not going to cry about it or hold a grudge but I sure am going to say something about it.

I have been doing this for awhile now. Quite a bit longer than the 4+ years on the net. I have never had to blame others for my countless foul ups and hope to never start. The day I am not up to the task I won't weasel out of it, I will get out of the way. It will be time for a day job or retirement. No shame to it, just reality and it will very likely be a relief once I get there. You can burn out on anything and some days the time and work is quite rewarding and worth it, others not. For now I am constantly working though. Changing things, improving things (I hope), finding ways to be more efficient with what I have got to work with. I am also quite fortunate to have some good help as well. While this is hard work it really is not all that hard if you pay attention and I like it. Challenges are good for you.

I have hijacked my own good guy thread long enough with this soap opera. Most likely it will be the last you shall see of my antics on this topic. Thanks again for the comments and I have the thermostat for Lauren all sorted out-she will have her new one on Friday. Seems someone somewhere might own a thermostat they didn't ask for?? Please, if you don't see your order in a few days after you order it, email or call! I will not be insulted, I will just track it for you.

I just dug through all 102 posts that Rich has made on this forum and that was the only thread about his competitor that he ever posted in.

As far as I am concerned you are a good guy. I have read and heard nothing but positive things about you and would not hesitate to do business with you.

I shouldn't even add to your lovely thread but I must know why you feel the need to talk about me in your own thread? Honestly Rich I don't have any beef with you at all.. Even after you have tried to copy everything I do I still don't give a hoot.. Just let it go and move on, no one has wronged you man.. Good luck to you man and God Bless!
