    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This man has publicly posted on Instagram about the horrific things he did to his pet monitor. I am in the process of enlisting help to report him to his local Animal Control.

The short version: Cut off its tail with a machete, cut off the tips of the hemipenes, cauterized with a blowtorch, did not take to a vet when the wound became infected.

I think I may have misread it, and the reason he hacked the tail off was because it was infected. Thread still stands. I've reported him to Orange County animal control.

What a horrifying post by him detailing his abuses.
 
I can understand better why he did what he did, although his original post was sort of incoherent. But I still consider his "home treatment" to be animal abuse, and I do not think he should be running a pet store of any kind. If a regular vet is not open on a Friday afternoon, you either wait, or you take it to an emergency vet. I'm amazed the monitor didn't die of shock.

Horrifying to say the least.:angry:.. Wondering how he'd feel if someone cut the tip of his penis off with a machete, and used a blow torch to cauterize it!

I'm completely BLOWN AWAY by this guys treatment/actions with that poor monitor.

Hoping they lock him up, throw away the key, and take away his rights to ever own another critter in his lifetime!!!!!!!!!!

No explanation for the cutting of the hemipenes though? His post is pretty incoherent but the darned Walking Dead reference made it clearer (cutting off an 'infected' body part). That still doesn't make it any less disgusting and wrong...

As far as I can tell, he cut the hemipenes because he cut the tail so far up that they were exposed afterward. :(

From his account he knew something was wrong on Wednesday, and just waited and watched until Friday.
That kind of surgery seems to me to be practicing veterinary medicine without a license, I'd send this thread to the vet board in his state.
 
I read that animal control was notified, can the police be notified in this type of matter? Just curious. What a disgusting thing this man did. The hobby has enough bad press, and doesn't need this situation to add to it

I am waiting to hear back from AC since I emailed them this thread. I guess I'll see what action they plan to take (if any) and go from there.

I don't know what the rules are there, but that generally doesn't apply to treating your own pets - just someone else's.

Regardless, this guy should never own pets again.
 
I couldn't read the original post ... it breaks my heart when people home treat & don't know what they are doing. I weep for the animals.
