Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It's not that unusual to use baby snakes as feeders, most will use the babies that are poor or non feeders. think about it, a poor or non feeder can not be sold so why not make use of it?
 
I think the home surgery/ mutilation of the monitor lizard is the bigger concern, as he is bragging about it as well.
 
"Whenever I'm feeling down, I go F--- with maverick". That doesn't sound like " home treatment" to me.
 
these are the people that reptile keepers should be outing to the world with extreme prejudice. He should be tarred and feathered... at the very least!
our community needs to keep taking out the trash; keep the hobby clean.

Gross, just gross! I understand the feeding of the baby snakes, they are a natural food source to some animals, but the mutilation with the machete has gone to far. Then the sex organ and blow torch?? That's torture!!!
 
Meowmeowkazoo, any updates? Have authorities intervened? Keep us posted and thanks again for reporting this to authorities.
 
I haven't heard back from AC yet. I'm hesitant on how to proceed because I realize he felt he was saving the animal's life by intervening with a machete and a blowtorch, and the animal doesn't look like it's being abused now. But the fact remains that he watched the tail rot away for three days, and then cut it off as well as the tips of the hemipenes rather than take it to a vet.

I honestly wasn't the best person to make this thread since I have a lot of personal stuff going on right now, but I felt very strongly it should be brought to the attention of the reptile community. If I don't hear back from Animal Control in the next few days I will call them and ask how to proceed.
 
Eh, I'm not too sure if saving its life was his intentions. Plus if I truly cared about my animal I would go to the vet at the first sign of an infection. I would wait several days then perform some rudimentary and borderline cruel "surgery" - and post on social media that I like to "f--- with my animal when I'm in a bad mood"...

I'm sorry you have so much stuff going on in your life. Let me see what action I can take also, despite being in WI. :)
 
I do not like him at all but am friends with people that know him personally and from what I hear, this does not surprise me. I visited his shop once and never returned after that.

Just read everything else you guys said. Jail or prison won't scare him. He's an ex gang member who's already spent multiple years behind bars. He's used to it. He still acts like he's in there. That's the main reason I want nothing to do with him and seeing this makes me hate him more

I do not hope to get him arrested for this so much as I hope to get him prohibited from owning animals or running a pet store. Thank you for your insight, though.
 
Oh trust me. Taking away his privelage of owning any animal is definitely #1. If you've seen his shop it's horrific. All animals in screen top cages with almost no humidity with shedding problems as well as malnourished and underweight. I hope your call to animal control about the monitor does force them to take action because they have been there before for previous concerns and all they've given him was warnings so far.
 
Its the thought process that scares me, "Tail is rotting , can't afford to take him to a vet,ill chop it off with a machete and burn it with a blow torch". This guys a psychopath, regardless if he thought he was helping the animal. Whats his shop's name?
 
CombatWombat, I would totally assume so. I don't have proof but the description in the thread you posted seems pretty spot on. Reptile Outlet is the shop and the page where the "tailless monitor" images came from. (Not sure which social media, but can be seen in the original post)
