In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

REPTILES PLUS IN FLA THEIVES!!! BUYERS BEWARE!!!

I took a few minutes to look up your previous posts. Not just in this thread, but ALL your previous posts. You have a few classified ads listed, other than that, the tenor of most of your posts has been whiny and combative, ie fostering a hostile negative environment.

Why don't you go away for a while, cool off, and take a fresh look at YOUR behaviors. Then, see what you can do to be productive here. Just stop whining.

your right lucille thanks for advise i think i wll take it. thank you

Oh No You DITTENT!!!!

The one guy who has ever defended you, You say knows nothing?
Jobber = middleman go-between.
Hi there fauna i am the guy you people love to hate but i am the original Reptiles Plus in case you do know me i am an animal jobber.
Your words Vicky not mine. Post #77.

first off brrrman talk what you know i do see the animals i buy if fact i travel 2 hours out of my way every week to hand pick my animals thank you.

Did you really say that

we told her we were not familar with the sub-species she order but the wholesaler is very familar since they have been in businees for over 30 years so why would they send me the wrong species of chameleon.

Jeez you said that too vic post # 20. so do handpick or not? and why would you need a cham sent to you that you had advertised as in stock. JOBBER

how do you know i dont invest money on my shipping materials? how do you really know i did not pack the box right last time i check i include a heat pack and styro. i bought boxes, styro and heat pack from my connections. how do you know that i never use those?!? and i let the customer choose the shipping ok. look i dont have to explain my self to you or anyone! i am my own boss! none of you pay my bills and supplies or my reptile invoices so back off. i try not to get in other peoples business because i am too busy trying to help my customers get the reptiles that they want!
thats where the B.S. really started to get deep. But vic explain to me that last sentence. trying to help customers the reptiles they want. sounds like a jobber, no inventory, no feeder animals, no anti parasitic drugs. in the back door out the front.

Vonnick52 explains it well thanks Nick,
This guy (Victor Rivera) constantly advertises in the free classifieds in the Tampa, FL area and I actually talked to him about animals, perhaps two or three months ago. I realized something was wrong when I said I'd prefer to drive the 35 minutes or so to pick animals up, rather than paying the shipping. He then proceeded on to tell me that he has almost been arrested for doing deals in parking lots etc etc and that he will not allow local pickup. He did not want to email back and forth, so I had him call me. Makes more sense now, no paper or email trail, no proof.

I was also inquiring about certain animals with certain traits, as I'm beginning to look for specific animals....he informed me that he goes to Miami once a week (I believe on Mondays) and "hand-selects the animals." Once I heard this, I gracefully ended the conversation, knowing that he probably just hits all of the importers getting fresh animals in.

This also explains why he took payments for animals which he could not provide, he must of figured that he could find the animals on his weekly trip.
I been around too long to try and get dissed by a snot-nosed young punk jobber like you vic. I've erased more reptile suppliers from my cell phone than you've ever had. And yours is one of them. I thought it was cute when we talked on the phone and you didn't know that red tailed green ratsnakes could also be brown. remember that phone conversation when I called and asked why my coachwhips weren't in the package? Remember? then you told me you didn't know your wholesaler was out till spring? If you handpick for everyone why not me vic? why weren't my coachwhips handpicked for me from one of your three of the worlds largest importers?
Why are they still on your website. If everything on your website are hand picked weekly, why no coachwhips for me or Brian?

Your a Liar Vic, you may not job for HAHA but I didnt say you did. I said a shady wholesaler like HAHA. Name your wholesaler if they're so credible.
Secondly your stupid. You do not even know what you wrote yourself on this very thread. Dishonest foolish and stupid is no way to go through life son.

I'm sure you will try and retaliate with some B.S. how your the new lizard king and I will no longer be serviced by you... boo hoo.
or you'll stoop to the lowest common denominator, and sling four letter words like the immature moron that is vintage Victor Rivera.

And no I am not done until I read a heartfelt apology on this B.O.I. I personally will not let this thread drop. I will post every day until you fold up shop or eat it and apologize. Or until mister Moore tired and cranky mod kicks me.

Victor is a poor excuse for a businessman, and he sucks as a herpetologist. He ships animals illegally and with improper packaging. Also his mother was a hamster and his father smells of eldiberries (I don't know if I spelled that right)

For those who have received harassing or obcene phone calls from Victor, I will be posting the contact information for the applicable law enforcement agency later this afternoon. If you contact them, it would greatly assist if you are able to provide them with the dates and times of calls as well as what phone number he called from. It should be noted that each harassing or obscene phone call that he made is a separate offense under Florida Statute 365.16, and is punishable by 60 days confinement and/or a $500 fine. Additionally, those outside of Florida who have received harassing and obscene phone calls from Victor should also contact their local US Attorney. The repeated interstate phone calls constitute a violation of 47 U.S.C. §223(a)(1)(E). Whereas the state of FL can only charge him with multiple second degree misdemeanors, the Federal government treats it as a felony.

Criminal complaints regarding Victor Rivera's obscene or harassing phone calls can be directed to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office at (727) 582-6200 or to the St. Petersburg, FL Police Department at (727) 893-7780. In addition to contacting either SPPD or PCSO, those outside of FL who have received obscene or harassing calls from Victor can contact their local U.S. Attorney.

Victor (from now on Vicky) is a blight upon the reptile world. I would wish he would go into the used car business, but he'd more then likely tarnish their good reputation also. All he is is a small minded wiper of other peoples bottoms. A third taunt will follow I'm sure.

Quite frankly, I would like to see ALL parties here start acting more professional.

Please tell me that website is a joke...There is no way someone who has already been known in this very thread to mislabel and misidentify animals is going to have almost every animal I looked at under the snake page labelled with the wrong scientific name? I mean this isn't rocket science either, let's look at the very first one on the page...anyone see a problem with the common name vs. the scientific?

Hey maybe you could call yourself REPTILES CLUELESS, then there won't be any confusion and it would be a much more accurate description of your business?

I second the motion, I want to add that after examining this website many of the pictures on here look photoshopped, like the photos of them had their contrast sharpened to make the colors on the snakes look unnaturally bright and bold.... although that may not be illegal in anyway I look at that as dishonest and desperate to make a buck.

I wonder if the same situation with Debbie would happen if a new hobbyist in search for an Emerald would purchase the categorized Green Tree Python in the middle of the snakes section of your website???

I only post because I too believe it is outrageous the way this man has demoralized the hobby itself, even bashing his only supporter.
regardless I hope something comes from this besides a loss of sales.

The single best post on this thread was the last 1 by THE WEB SLAVE...good job...WOW this was long.

I noticed that too. On the snakes, for example, most pictures have been darkened and their color saturations have been increased. But, correct me if I am wrong, the animals pictures are not the animals you are buying anyway. So that "dark red" Brazilian Rainbow Boa, or whatever color it may be, may or may not represent all colorations including those washed-out browns.

Good to know that I can get a great deal on an baby amelanistic corn snake though... only $70.00. Low, low prices you say? Not that after reading this entire thread I would ever buy anything from there, even if the price was fantastically amazing.

Unbelievable!

Just thought I would chime in and say I popped into the Reptiles Plus website and in just browsing the home page and the snake page, it was sorrowfully apparent that this was not a site to be trusted.

The owners of this business are so unprofessional that they can not even ensure that their website has been created with proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. That was the first thing that jumped right out at me. Now when I consider doing business with a web based retailer I look for a site that is well set up, that is current, that has proper grammar, spelling and punctuation as these are the things that show me professionalism for web based companies. The site equals the store. If I were to go into a store and it was dirty, disorganized, had illegible signage it would not garner a feeling of competence and confidence in doing business there. The same goes for a website that has been haphazardly thrown together with no thought to presentation or professionalism, I mean even the mailing address is not typed out with proper capitals.

Once I went to the snake page, as snakes are my reptile of choice, things got much worse. There were two snake pictures where by the position the snakes were in, I questioned whether they were actually alive when the pictures were taken. As well, I immediately noticed that two other snakes which were accurately labeled with their common names, were incorrectly labeled with their scientific names. For me to notice this, I feel speaks volumes as I was never very good at the part of biology where scientific names had to be learned. I just can not understand how a company that is supposed to be selling reptiles can label a snow corn as a California King Snake and label a Pastel Ball Python(provided it is a Pastel, not really up on my BP morphs) as a Corn Snake(even at that the BP was labeled with the old genus for Corn Snakes and not the newest decision made in 2002 of Pantherophis guttatus).

I did not have time to check out all of the other specimens on the site, nor will I do their work for them and correct their mistakes! Web based companies that present themselves like this(with or without BOI bad guy threads) are simply not places to be trusted to give your hard earned money to. The amount of effort they have put into this site screams one thing only "we are here to prey on the unsuspecting members of the reptile community, hoping that they will be so excited about finding that "special" reptile they really want, that they will be like deer in headlights and overlook the glaring red flags allowing us to make a fast buck from them"!

There are several new classifieds posted in various categories from an account created on 12/01/2009 called "REPTILESPLUS321" under the name "BRIAN".

So, my question, is this the same Reptiles Plus using a false name, or did some poor guy named Brian unknowingly pick a username with a bad reputation?

In one of the Reptiles Plus threads, it was pointed out that there is a retail facility operating under the same name in FL. That facility has 3 members here (employees, perhaps), and all have reptilesplus in their username.

*I'm still not quite sure how that happened...when I applied for my DBA, they did a search to make sure it wasn't already being used. Kind of makes me think that one of them isn't on the record.
