• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy ReptMart

This is not a shipping thread. Start a new thread in the shipping forum to discuss shipping further.

The OP got his refund, as many of us figured he would. Reptmart refunded his money, so there is nothing left to debate here.

:deadhorse

You ladies done filling my inbox with the petty back and forth bickering?

I hope so. Yer killing the battery on my phone.

The OP got his money. The thread is here for people to decide for themselves. All this squabble over who's the idiot ain't gonna change a thing. Just let it go.

I called back UPS and I asked if they had larger accounts that would allow for shipment of snakes. This time they did say that they had some companies that are in contract with them that allows for shipment of snakes. I didn't ask if ReptMart was one but I would say they are. Anyway... ReptMart did right by sending back all money since they did send the wrong snake and on top of that it was DOA. Mistakes happen but if someone wants their money back due to a major mistake then they should be entitled to a refund.

I meant to say... are in contract with some companies that allow for shipment for snakes. Not sure if ReptMart is one of those companies.

One question the OP never bothered to answer...Did you phone Kim Bell on her cell as requested in her last email? If you simply ignored that request and hoped they would just do as you asked in your last email then I consider your position in starting this thread without at least making the requested phone call pretty weak.

The Bells have been using UPS since long before any prohibitions went into effect and completely above board. To anyone who questioned their ability to use UPS... don't waste your breath.

And while no one is above reproach in any industry, Mark and Kim are as close to it as anyone in this business. In my 20 + years doing this I have never seen or heard a negative comment about them anywhere

This is what it is...a misunderstanding that got resolved. Let's not read anything else into it

The moron is you. You replaced it locally. You probably found it cheaper so getting the dead animal was your way out. It's called buyers remorse. You probably went and cried because you found it cheaper after you bought it from ReptMart. I'm not ruining anything by my comments. I am showing people what a rediculous customer you are. You are on my do not sell to list for sure. It's people like you, who give customers a bad name.

This (along with many of your responses in this thread) is probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen from you. I realize you like the Bells and want to stand up for them....heck, I do, too. They're great people and run a stand-up business. But they ARE people and they DO make mistakes.

If some unknown joe-blow had sent a wrong/dead snake you'd be screaming at him to refund his customer. I've seen screams for refunds for MUCH less offensive service.

The OP was absolutely entitled to a refund, given all the circumstances.

I contacted UPS and they told me that they do not ship snakes regardless of who you are. They said if someone is shipping snakes they could have their account suspended.

I wouldn't trust the word of any single UPS employee to have an accurate answer to a question like that, unless he was the president/CEO of the company. And even then, I'd wonder if he really knew what other department heads were up to and approving. Their left hand has no idea what their right hand is doing, 99% of the time.

... ReptMart would probably of refunded his money any way.

I do believe they would have....and maybe this thread WAS a tad premature, but I can certainly try to see it from the OP's point of view. Why is that so hard?

The dead snake cannot be blaimed on ReptMart. Who knows what happened to the package in shipping. A snake goes through hell while being shipped. ReptMart was going above and beyond to correct the problem.

Seriously??? Since when, in the history of the BOI, is it NOT the seller's responsibility when a snake shows up DOA? Show me one place where the community EVER rallied behind that line of thinking. :NoNo: ReptMart did not go "above and beyond" anything....they met their obligation to their customer. Period.

This is what it is...a misunderstanding that got resolved. Let's not read anything else into it

I agree with this 100%. I'm personally not reading any more into the transaction between the OP and ReptMart than a simple misunderstanding. However, these other comments cannot be read as anything but mind-blowing irrationality.

just to let everyone know ups has stopped all shippment of snakes. thats why ship your reptiles and other sites are no longer offering this service. if you dont believe me just call and ask.

I think you may be wrong on this. UPS used to ship snakes then they decided to quit.... HOWEVER some of the larger folks at the time were able to stay grandfathered in and can still ship snakes.

That is the oldest excuse in the book. How do you know he took the day off, and how do you know he can't be there for another shipment. He found it cheaper somewhere else, and used this as an advantage to get his money back.

Brian.. this is getting old and I just started reading this thread. How do you know he got it cheaper somewhere else. Where is the proof?

I am glad they came through and did the right thing for you. I do not think that it was unreasonable or jumping the gun to post the thread. If someone didn't respond to me for 5 days after I asked for a refund for a dead snake I would be annoyed too. Brd6777 your posts disturb me and your lack of factual information behind them is even more annoying. I rarely post but I have no idea where you're coming from. Do explain why you are so biased and rude towards the OP!

Post #23 he states he already replaced the animal locally. Says nothing about "cheaper" though.

I think the OP was premature considering there was a weekend involved in those 5 days. But I don't think he was wrong.

The info is here for all to decide for themselves. A lot of you seem to think its unwarranted, yet you keep it at the top of the forum with repetitious post's. Where is the sense in that?

Can we just move on now? Really, you're just moving in circles accomplishing nothing.

I would still like an answer from the OP as to whether he ever called Kim as she requested in the last email he posted from her.

What difference does it make? I know if someone sent me the wrong animal, it arrived dead, and they did not process the refund properly the last thing I would do is call. This is exactly the sort of situation where everything needs to be documented and not left to hearsay regardless of who the seller may be.

I agree that everything needs to be document.... but there is nothing wrong with calling and then following up with an email. OR send the email then call and reference the email that was sent.

Either way... A LOT can be acomplished with a phone call. I know this from experience because when I got a DOA earlier this year... I not only called them but also sent email documentation. It was resolved to my statisfaction and no need to start a BOI thread. All because I was willing to make the necessary contact.

Something interesting that I just noticed. It would be nice if the OP would comment on both it and my last question

Kim, I had a difficult time scheduling a day off. Let's do a refund for now and I will try again when I can get a day off. It's ok, I understand these things happen.

I am very sorry. I had problems with UPS. I will be shipping Fed Ex next week. I still have your original snake on my desk. I will send you some freebees to make up for the trouble we caused.

Kim

Please do a refund on this order. I can't get time off.

Anyone notice the difference between the 1st email from the OP and the second. They are in bold. The first (and every other one in the string) has a subject line "Subject Re:" His final response does not. Since he was cutting and pasting I will make the assumption that he did not alter the last email. If that is the case, Kim received an email that was not a response to the string. Simply a random email that had no subject and very little to tie it to the string.

In my opinion, if this was the OP's last contact and he then simply waited 5 days to post this then he is definitely in the wrong. At the very least a quick phone call(as requested) or a follow up email was in order
