In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Does anyone know anything about Reptmart? I've seen a couple of good reviews but I placed an order with them two days ago and the difficulty getting ahold of their customer service is making me nervous.

Reptmart is part of Bell Indusdries, owned and operated by the Bell who are considered pioneers in this industry with over 30 years experience.

I have bought animal from them in the past without any issue.

Thanks for the response! I've heard that before which is why I bought from them in the first place. I just wanted to check due to lack of communication other than automated systems.

As an update on this I asked a Reptile Industries rep directly and Reptmart was sold to Petaholiks Inc. about a year ago. I believe they're the same people that own Snakes at Sunset? So not an issue for me, but putting it here for accuracy of info.

I bought a gray banded king from them 1 - 1 1/2 years ago. It ate, regurged and died a few days later. I paid shipping and they replaced it. Exact same thing happened with the 2nd snake.

No I've never had a snake regurge or die now or in the past.
No I didn't spend money to find out why they died.
All the other snakes I had during that time never had a issue and are adults.
No I didn't contact them when the 2nd one died just wrote it off as a loss.
No I'm not going to dig thru paypal statements to show proof I purchased from them.
Yes both snakes were quarantined.
Shipping was excellent, snakes was beautiful and did not show outward signs of being ill.
Just sharing my experience with Reptmart nothing more.

I bought a pair of spotted pythons from them a few years back and was completely satisfied with the transaction. The snakes were in perfect shape and I had no issues with them.

I feel like recently they dropped off the map. I purchased a milksnake from them a couple years back. I disliked all of the extra fees they tacked on, and they didn't ask when I could ship. As a result they sent the snake in 12 degree snowy weather. It lived, but had health problems for a year before it passed away. It was a shame, as the snake was beautiful.

Okay so got my order. I have mixed feelings about it because for some reason the three skinks were in the same bag? I'm not sure that's common practice, but it doesn't seem like a good idea.

One is a bit sluggish which is concerning me, but the other two are alert. One has a bite mark on its head where a chunk of skin was pulled off. It looks partially healed (?), but I'll observe the wound closely for the time being.

All in all not as bad as I feared but also not as good as I hoped.

Can you post a pic. Just curious.

None of these bad orders were the way I've know Mark and Kim to do things and I've known them when they were still working out of their basement in Michigan.

If they were still running things , you'd get nothing but the best animals and service.

Sure! Here's the best image I could get.

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed. :/

I took a chance on Reptmart based on their reputation, because the business is still listed as belonging to them on most sites, and the BBB rating seems to be retained from their time.

I have a sneaking suspicion the sluggish little guy has an injured leg, though it's difficult to tell with the way skinks move.

That's too bad .... you would never in a million years get an injured, sub-par animal from Mark Bell , whether it was a $20.00 animal or a $2,000.00 animal.

I just learned of them selling their business in this thread. I'm not surprised as they've been at it full speed for a long time.

No disrespect to the new owners but I doubt however hard they work at it, it'll never be run as well as Mark and Kim did it.

"Hey I think this skink you sent me has one to three broken legs as the result of your packing error."

"Oh yeah that happens when they're packed in the same bag. Let me know if it gets worse."

Are you serious.

The lizard died and I was refunded, so I have no further complaints. I'm annoyed the injury even happened, but it seems more like an issue with an inexperienced packer than an issue with the company as a whole.

I would rate them as a "use at own risk" company, but no more so than other online retailers.

I'm glad you got a refund and they at least stood by that. It's a shame that they carelessly packed an animal and caused its death. For that, I would avoid them, but at least they made good on the refund.

I do believe that in this instance it was an employee's mistake, but I doubt I'll buy from them in the future because of this. I usually prefer to buy direct from breeders anyway, but fire skinks are hard to find captive bred.
