In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Reptster.com experience with show sponsorship not good

I can read, write and add!

The question was about repster. I was wondering just what David missed by doing the Chicago show over the over hyped PA show. By reading not much. By adding looks like he can get cheaper advertisement than $2.50 per customer.
For you who need it heres the math:
$750 sponsorship (declined)
300 people divided into the cost would equal $2.50 per customer

I think David made the right choice in which show to attend! Over 15000 customers verses 300.
HOPE THE CRICKETS WEREN'T TO NOISY!

Mr. Belcher,
1st off Mr. Young was never even going to be at our show.
2nd off if Mr. Young would have done his part then there may have been more people there.
Lastly your cost of $2.50 per person, as I see it, it is a very CHEAP price to pay to get just a 1/4 of those people as new customers. As they say, 1 person tells 2 people and those 2 people tell 2 and so on, get it? see it?

I am sorry that you feel that 300 people is not a lot of people for a new show, but fact is that the vendors there and the other sponsor that we did have will all benefit form the customer telling all their friends....
Get it yet?

Allen,

First, I am so glad to see you were concerned enough about what happened at our show to bring this thread back to the top as it was doing a good job of falling off the first page. Thanks for that, now more people can see what sort of a business person Mr. Young is since he STILL hasn't contacted us at all.
Secondly, from the very first phone call with Mr. Young, I was aware he was not attending our show personally, hence the idea of us working a table for him. This was stated in the very beginning of the thread, so he did not CHOOSE Tinley over us, he was already committed to being there BEFORE making any deals with us (that he reniged on anyhow, remember?)
Third, the show may have been "over hyped" to you, but we never once claimed to be able to put on something like, say, Tinley, or even close, especially not for our first show. So, ask any of our vendors or customers, we did VERY well for a small first show. You are comparing admissions at Tinley, a well established 2 day show to our brand new 1 day show. Apples and oranges Allen, apples and oranges...
And think of this Allen, IF Mr. Young had paid his for his sponsorship as agreed, how much advertising would that $750 gotten us to drive more customers to the show? But, since he never paid ONE PENNY, he got 2 months worth of advertising for FREE. That is much less than your $2.50 per person.

By the way, did anyone actually see Mr. Young at Tinley? I was told by someone who went that they did not see him or a Reptster booth, but he also said he might be wrong and he just missed the booth all together. I am just curious....

Allen,

In reality the math is different. This thread has 78,000 views. Let's assume that of those only 10,000 are different individuals. Let's suppose that 20% of those or 2,000 were willing to use Repster and let's suppose 50% of the 2,000(1,000) decided not to do it because of this thread (being generous with the estimate). At $5 per box (assuming they just ship one) that's 5,000. He saved $750 and had potential losses of $4,250 not a very good deal IMO.

Your comparison is lacking quite a bit.

1) Tinley has been established for years.
2) Any smaller show will not get the same numbers as a larger show.
I.e. Atlanta doesn't see the numbers that Daytona sees , nor does the Dixie show , nor does the Carolina shows.

How about the shows you promoted Allen? How did they do? How many shows did you put on? Still promoting shows?

dont get the people laughing too hard with that question

But you are right... Tinley has been around quite some time. All good shows have to start somewhere!

what you are forgetting

What you are forgetting is that this is a business and 60+ tables with only 300 customers can only mean that not alot of money was made by your venders. Which spelled out for you means
If it don't make money , it don't make sense!
Venders will not continue to support someone or something that is costing them money. This business is not a charity case, It is a tough business and with gas high and the economy low you will soon see that it was not the crickets singing for David but it was the Fat Lady warming up for her act!
So apples and oranges are what you want to discuss here. What about the reason you started the show. Hamburg thats a one day show with well over 300 tables and over 7000 in attendace the last time I was there. Maybe those are the apples you wanted.

Allen and I suppose Hamburg didn't start out as a small show? Their first show was a HUGE success??? Somehow I doubt that. Every show has to start from somewhere and grow from there. So stop being a jerk (if that is even possible from you).

do the math again

Lets say the same 10,000 people view and 20% look and 50% of that (1,000) people decide to try repster for themselves to see for themselves what the real deal is. Makes David 5-10 thousand easy.
You can look at a half full cup as being half full or half empty!:shrug01:
Plus your math is still lacking as it is alot of the same people and I do mean alot of the same people looking at the thread over and over and over.
Allen Belcher 706-615-4772

Jason I sure do like Mrs. Cathy but you are pushing it!
Allen Belcher 706-615-4772

First off you have NO reason to bring Cathy into this... Second if you weren't such a jerk about things maybe more people would respect you.

Back to the subject at hand... I know I won't be trying Ripster "to try it for myself" and I am sure I am not the only one that feels this way.

Mr. Belcher,
The topic of this thread is not about how good our show really was but about how Mr. Young does business. Please try to remember that for all that is here to see the truth about Mr. Young. If you would like to attack us more with you off base points here somewhere on Fanua please respect this thread and do so where the show thread is. I will be more then happy to talk about this more with you after I get home from work tomorrow.
Thank you so much ahead of time for keeping this thread on topic from here on.

on topic

Brother the thread was started by your wife and should have never been here in the first place. If I created a thread about everyone who decided not to finish a deal I would have to many to keep tract of. Now I am being unfair by showing that maybe David is not only a smart business man but also might just be a prophet as well. Because he sure nailed this one. This reminds me of a bible story in which the moral was: He who has never changed their mind cast the first stone!

Ahh, yes. And that reminds me of another Bible story:
"With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I lost a thousand sales."

That's why I used 10,000 (people) and not 78,000 (views), I gave a handicap of almost 8 views per individual.

50-100 people respond and partake in most of the threads here. So your math again is way off and you still give over exagerated numbers. 500 people would be way out there in itself.
