• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Reptster Shipping

I have used them twice and everything went good. Free packing materials if you use them with in 90 days, not too bad.

but, you still have a 40% discount on shipping, and on the shipping supplies as i hear.

Perhaps you should read the BOI Thread about the business practices of the owner of Reptster? ;)

At that, the discount on the shipping boxes is $0.10 less then what you'd pay buying them directly from the manufacturer...Hardly something to make a big deal about. :)

Thank you Stephanie.... you beat me to it.

Exactly... its only a 10 cent savings vs buying directly from their supplier. You can compair (sp?) for yourself. There is a link to their supplier in the BOI thread.

I should clarify a previous comment....
my savings was about 30% on the package that went out today
That savings was based upon the rate given on FedEx.com WITHOUT logging into my account.

so, is it worth the possible hassle or should i just get certified with fedex?

The more certified people we have the better it will be for our hobby. This this will show the current carriers that reptile shipping may be a small but still significant part of their business.

Do yourself a favor.... get certified.

IF the acusations over on the BOI are true... then Reptster may not be around.... and you will be left holding the bag... I mean snake. :yesnod:

It really isnt that difficult to get certified... it just takes some work on your part....

*Sign up online (easy).... fedx will mail you a card with your account number.
*Contact fedx and ask for your Account Rep.... let him know what your doing as he can help move things along (semi easy depending on Rep)
*Fill out application for box testing and send in test box (easy)
*sit back and wait while they try to destroy your box ;) (cant get any easier)
*they will email you the results and will send a copy to your Rep.
*If you pass.... contact rep for the waver contact. (easy)
*Send waver back to Fedx... and get ready to legally ship

the hardest part of the whole deal is packing the box..... however **DO NOT send a live animal in the box to the testing facility**

Being an ex-UPS employee I can also tell you that the carriers LOVE overnight packages. That is where the highest profit margin is compared to their other service levels (ground, two day, etc).

So the more certified people we have is certainly the better!!

Yes it was hard!! I had to buy the box and syrofoam inserts and snake bags from here: http://superiorenterprise.com/index.php

!. I had to chose which size box was the right one:

2. Then I had to choose how many bags I wanted.

3. Then I had to pack in around the bag (tied and taped) with newspapers (do you know how difficult they are to find??) to fill up space and remember to include the application in the box (I think).

4. Then I had to tape it closed, slap the shipping lable on there and remember to drop it off!!

That was a lot of difficult decisions and hard work!! ;):yesnod:

(just teasing here).

Ahhh Grasshopper... I see your sarcasm shining through. You are now ready to walk the Path of the Imbeciles without worry of lowering your IQ.

:rofl::rofl: Master there is still much to learn. However, with you as my teacher, eventually I can walk that path with no fear.

No sarcasm this time. Just used his post to jump off and display how easy it was.

You did it the easy way.... I built my own boxes.... I had to cut the styrofoam... it was NOT precut :)
