In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I bought a 1200 gram albino Ball from Paul. It was picked up by a mutual friend, that is a reputable breeder, at a reptile show. The next week I pick up the ball and it's open mouth breathing. I call Paul and he says he'll send me Baytril. Shipping was delayed by a day or two and when I finally get the package, the syringe needles are so small, they bend when trying to stick the snake. I've given shots to snakes, and tortoises in the past, so I'm not new to this. I call Paul and he says keep trying, if need be, he has more Baytril to send me. I try for the next 3 days and every needle bends. The snake is getting worse. So I make an appointment to see my exotic vet. He gives the snake her first shot and said to repeat one shot every 3 days. On the third day, I wake up, prepare the shot and go into the QT rack and the snake is dead.

I call Paul immediately, tell him the snake died. Now he starts telling me that the snake was no sick when he gave it to my friend. If that's the case, then why would he quickly agree to ship the Baytril to me after my first phone call to him free of charge? He never questioned the snake being sick, he was more than happy to send the Baytril.

He repeatedly said the snake was well when he sent it to me. I told him it was open mouth breathing when I got it. It was blowing bubbles within 2 days of getting it home.

I asked for my money back and he agreed to send me 50% of my money. But as of yet, has not sent my money. He said he had to sell a few snakes because he has no money. However I've seen where he's buying snakes here on Fauna, so I know he's got the money. He's not answering his phone, not returning emails.

If he said he would send me a refund, he should honor that and send me my money.

Here is my PM I sent to him about the sick snake.

Paul, we have a problem. This snake has a really bad resporatory infection. I've got to get it to the vets today. It's mouth is full of mucus and it's in bad shape. I need some help on vet costs. Rick said the snake was like this when he looked at it last Sunday. This snake is really sick.

Let me know!

Paul, I got some bad news. I couldn't get the Baytril into the snake without bending the needles, so I made an appointment with my vet. The snake has a really bad resperatory infection and mouth rot.

I took a syringe with me and the vet told me there's no way I would ever got that through the snake's skin. He said he would use something like that on a leopard gecko, but never on a snake this size.

He gave me FORTAZ. He told me to start with a 2 month supply and we'd go with that first. 25mg every 3 days. He said Baytril would take too long.

If, in 3 weeks, the open mouth breathing doesn't stop, he would have to inject anitbotic directly into the snake's air sack. (which is at the bottom of the lung) He said the snake is really sick. I don't mean to bust your chops, but he said this snake has been sick for some time now.

I spent $92.55 today for the vet visit and meds.

Let me know what you can do for me.

Thanks!

Please send me pics on the dead snake

So how does Paul get a hold of a nephrotoxic antibiotic that could potentially cause permanent blindness and other neurologic symptoms for an animal that isn't in his posession? Baytril is not OTC, it is a prescription drug. It makes me shutter to think he's just throwing this drug around without realizing the possible consequences. It makes me shudder even more that he seems to have an endless supply of it, and doesn't seem to be bothered by the fact that it's against the law for him to be distributing this medication.

So Paul, what do you have to say for yourself?

For emails, I think that covers it for now. Can you post the vet report(s) as well?

Somehow I've misplaced that, I can get a copy from Dr. Boyd @ Pulaski Vets in White Marsh Maryland.

If that's needed, just let me know, I only live about 15 minutes from the vets.

Thanks Again!

The more proof you have, the stronger your case

Something you said made me think of something. For someone to not have sick animals, how was he able to get the Baytril so quickly and then have a ready supply of that drug?

Never thought of that before.

Thanks!

Ya thinking maybe he already had it on hand because he was treating something else?

Possibly. The needles were so small, the vet said they would be used for geckos, no way could they have been used for a snake this size. I'm a diabetic and these were the tiniest needles I've ever seen. No way could they be used for a 1200 gram Ball Python.
