    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

You KNOW I have an Ackie to trade...YOU CALL ME and ask, "Will I take YOUR Boa in trade?"...I say, "Yes!"...YOU are offering the trade...which means, YOU WILL SHIP FIRST!

Unless the two of you work out some other sort of arrangement...

But, you're right! The person who receives the animal FIRST, is the one who holds ALL THE CARDS!! That's why I say you've GOT TO know how honest the "other" guy is??? This is where the RISK come in to play!! I KNOW ME!!! If I get an animal in first...mine gets shipped out IMMEDIATELY!! If you don't know the animal...know the dealer???

Just for the record...I'm really NOT trying to sound like a "father figure"! I AM 50 years old (in 2 days), and it's the ONLY way I know how to express myself??? Honestly and point blank! I live in Georgia, but not near Dalton (about 100 miles).  Tell me (us) a little more about the trade and I will see what info I can dig up.  What did you trade to him?  How long ago was this.  Have you had any other contact?

Okay, I've been reading and watching and feel that this statement is unfair. You are supposed to come to the BOI to post these experiences. That is what the board is for. Heck, I have no sympathy for anyone that does something dumb, but we all make mistakes and I appreciate him posting this here. I'll make sure I make no deals with that person in the future. I like to come here and check on folks I'm thinking about doing buisiness with. That is why there is a BOI.

Just thought I'd put my little touch to this thread. I myself have been burned before. Hard. So I live by the philosophy of "Buyer Beware". There are plenty of people out there willing to take our money and/or our trades. Otherwise, there would hardly be a need for the BOI. It is the responsibility of each and every buyer/trader to research the person they're dealing with. To not do so is to invite trouble. Just like not quarantining new animals, even though they appear to be healthy. If you fail to use common sense, you deserve what you get. I don't wish for anyone to be scammed. However, I firmly believe in "Buyer Beware". Ask questions, do the research. It pays off in the long run. Actually T.C. is the actual name I go by and have for years. It is actually what is on my drivers license. Is that good enough for officer kibitz or Gubitz(same thing).
 
Well sorry to hear about your bad trade experience.  I would be lieing if i said i haven't been taken on the internet.  In fact, more than once but when you want what the other person has you take the gamble.  But i just want to say you guys out there have a hell of alot of extra time on your hands to be writing stuff back and forth at each other.  Ritchie one of the only good trades i have had was with you.  and a few other guys i just have not been selling on the net bc of the royal pain in the and bashing that i have noticed lately.  I would really hope that this segment of the pet industry, that i love so dearly would just practice the golden rule (do on to other as you would want one to do on to you). Hey sorry if i offended anyone it was not my intention.  Just i little frustrated with how the BOI has taken the industry and turned it into a he said she said bunch of ----.  The BOI could really be a usefull tool if people would drop their egos and mature a little.  Just my opinion that will also be bashed and sorry if i do not defend it but i have 2 jobs and no desire.  Well to all the herp lovers out there keep on herpin.  Peace to all even the bashers. LOL

Jeff D  well said..  I come here almost everyday.  the BOI is a very good tool at keeping check on everyone.  but i too am tired of the slamming that goes on..  I usually remain silent but this thread has alot of bashing going on.  Neil  I am glad you admitted you were wrong.. sometimes your funny and sometimes your NOT.  I really don't think Kevin is very happy about being ripped off and blasted too... If there is someone that needs to be slammed  I believe its Ken Harris.  I am done my preaching.  Good luck Kevin

sorry if this goes off the original topic but in response to josh and mandy and the trade of female boa..
i had contacted her myself in regards to that boa..asking for a price..she could not give me a price..then wrote me thanking me for the offer..what offer i responded..then she tells me of a trade for several corns that she wanted and the snake was off the market. meanwhile i see a post somewhere else on fauna saying she was trading a rescue snake and a link to another site with rescue info on it..that included her site that showed her info and also a picture of the same snake and statements that included..we never sell our rescued animals..some other herper had warned us of that potential in the situation....i  knew something was fishy about the deal from the first email and her most arrogant attitude about the whole thing.
anyhow..sorry to hear you got burned.
i think it might have been a girl named rachel that had posted the warning on the trade page..not sure..
if this is hard to follow forgive me..its early here..and my java hasent completely kicked in yet.

Kim...I do believe I remember your name as one of the emails I got about her. I did not send you a price because I did not have one. I wanted only to either trade her or adopt her into a good home. At the time I responded to you I had already spoken with Josh Ingram. A good home was my most important thought.

I do not sell or trade rescues, that is true. This snake was not a rescue. It was a snake that I got from a friend. We decided we did not want to keep it..so we had been trying to find a good home for it either by adoption or trade. If you call that trading a rescue then ok I guess we were. Yes we do have a site for our rescues..with info about all of them. The ones that are for adoption are marked as such.

Rachel.... I still don't know why you have such a problem with my website. It is a information site. Yes I do state that I am able to help with animals in need. Yes when I have an animal that comes up for adoption I do post it there. *I have a ball python up there now* The animals are for adoption only to approved homes. NOT for sale or trade. So where is the problem? There are many sites like this all over the web including yours.
This snake was different in the fact that it was not a rescue. She was our snake. As I have stated to all involved many times.

As far as what Josh has said. I have tried to contact him many times since we traded and he told me about the problems he had with her. I have only received one VERY nasty email response from him...after I emailed him asking why he had a post up for the trade of our boa here on fauna.

I told him from day one where I got the boa....

As far as her being aggressive..she never was with us. My two year old son even pet her.

Oh, there's so much more. But I'll let Josh start his own thread on this (he plans to as soon as he has a little spare time)
