This is also about bringing pressure to bear on CGW. RN is mentally unstable. He is on medications. I am only now finding this out, the latter anyway, but there are folks out there who used this guy as their attack dog.

First of all, because you heard about someone's 'condition' does not make it true, there is a lot of misinformation everywhere.
Second of all, many people have problems of one kind or another, that neither makes them second class citizens nor decreases expectations that they can behave appropriately.

Third, and most important, 'bringing pressure to bear', that sounds like you are doing a bit of fomenting yourself.
People who read this thread can see what others say, and make their own decisions about where they want to hang out. They certainly do not need to head back and do anything with such a site, other than pointing out this one as a much better alternative.

Well. Lucille, I can see the basis of your point of view, and understand it, but I also think it comes up short when evaluating it all.

Early in the thread, folks who had had serious interaction with RN, to include the moderator of the largest FB chameleon forum, said that he was mentally ill. That was based upon their extensive knowledge of his actions, and not access to a clinical evaluation. Others said same just from what they read here. I have all that info, and then I have audio of him, put right on my own phone by him. Email me and I will send you some. It won't prove he is clinically crazy, but you may end saying "He's crazy" all the same.

Now, you may not want to draw the conclusion that he is mentally ill, but many of us have, and for reasons we are very comfortable with. I certainly know more about RN now than I did even a week ago. Most of that comes from him doing even more absurd things these last few days than I had experienced with him prior. I thought he was nuts before. Now I not only believe him to have serious issues that could easily be a disability handicap, but know that there is a clinical basis established for him. I am sympathetic. He is in a tough place. It is unfortunate that he makes it worse.

He needs help. Do not know how much my sympathies will help. But the way he has been manipulated by others is obscene. You should hear the difference between the first call to me four weeks ago, and now the last, today. It was disgusting where he started. It is sad where he is currently is.

To your point. "Bringing pressure to bear" is fomenting ? Well, HELL YES IT IS !! Why do folks start bad guy threads here ? Just to say something bad ? Or to seek redress !!!! I and others who have been on the receiving end of the midnight-and-later harassing calls want it to stop !! Who are the butt of jokes and absurd allegations in a forum run by n'er do wells want the cost of doing such to go up for those NDW's. We are sick of it. People are taking the time to illustrate the cowardice, duplicity, deceit, and immorality, because we want it to stop to the best that we are able to obtain that outcome. Doing nothing is over.

There are plenty of nice chameleon forums, btw. There is only one that is rogue like CGW. And it is not the "forum", but rather about a half-dozen real people who are the hub of the nonsense. They can't grow new heads. They will always be the names that we have listed. They can start a new forum. But their character, or lack of it, will always be here to be seen. No different than me changing my company name. Still me. No hydra.

Folks. I mentioned a few posts ago that Robert Nichols had called me today, for the first time since mid-May, the transcripts of those rude calls being at the beginning of this thread. In the May calls, Rob was in his usual telephone warrior swagger mode, as he has been these last couple of years with all the folks that he harassed.

Today was different. Rob Nichols, in a voice that sounded shaky, and timid, and breaking, attempted to convince me that he would sue me for "libel and slander" if I did not "cease and desist". It was so pathetic that I felt sorry for him.

A simple transcript is not worth the effort. But we are working on getting the audio files to a format and size that we can post here. RN is certainly able to post here, as he did prior to his 3-day time out, and I encouraged him to do that today, with his litigation words. Crickets so far. It is beyond silly for Mr Nichols to think such threats of legal action are going to change one thing.

That is not how this ends Robert.

People are taking the time to illustrate the cowardice, duplicity, deceit, and immorality, because we want it to stop to the best that we are able to obtain that outcome.

Having looked in on (and chose not to participate in) various forums that have members that fit your adjectives, above, my conclusion is that those members rarely quit their behavior, but the forums eventually die on the vine because other, more normal people go to specific kinds of forums (chameleon, reptile) for content, not for drama.

This thread is valuable in that it describes behaviors in a way that lets readers make choices, and if they are so inclined, move on from that forum.

There will always be those few miscreants, for sure. Illustrating to the larger community just how miscreant they are helps to illuminate their deviancy more quickly, and to a larger audience, than it would otherwise have occurred. If it only reduces the harassing phone calls made to folks, its a plus. I believe it has succeeded on that count quite well. Should Nichols think he can continue that again, then there will be immediate push-back with police reports now, and we will get the cops talking to each other to fix this.

The BOI gives a permanent record for referral that the FB Forums did not. At least for so long as it keeps going. I am a paid sponsor here, lest anyone think I am using this resource without contributing.

An attempt at audio,

This is a first attempt to see if there is an easy way to get audio into this thread. If it works, this link will take any who want to listen to an MP3 version of a phone call made to me mid-May by Robert Nichols. One of five in about 18 hours, this one at about 12:15 AM EST, while I was sleeping. It has teh Verizon tags. The number is Robert Nichol's, although I believe the caller ID is his sister-in-law's name, Diane Nichols.

For reference, it refers to a thread that I had started in a FB Forum, Chameleon Central USA, the largest such devoted to chameleons, and well managed, where Rob is banned, but where he can read none-the-less. It ended up being deleted as a flash mob from Chameleons Gone Wild forum hijacked it. Twice. Robert Nichols then actively participated in a discussion with fellow CGW members in that closed forum, and that effort led to the concurrent thread with my name on it here in the BOI.

In the same post that Ritchie referenced Mr. Nichols insinuated that I was a child molester based off my Facebook profile pic of my mother and father. I appreciate the warning on here Jim. Robert Nichols is not the kind of person I'd ever knowingly do business with.

I do not support, nor have I ever supported the language and tactics Rob Nichols uses against people that he despises in the industry. I myself have been a target of his frustrations at one point in time.

In the year that CGW has been in around, Rob Nichols has been an administrator there for roughly 4% of its existence. Yes, that may have been a lapse in judgement. Many of the members in CGW have voiced their concerns, including myself (supported by evidence in post #30 of this thread) regarding Nichols behavior.

Changes have been made in the forum in question and I do believe for the better of the community involved. That being said, I have not seen any evidence that the CGW administrators Robert C Rose or Chrissy Lynn approve of or encourage his behavior, they only try to pick up the pieces in some instances.

I believe people like Rob and Jim deserve second chances, but they have to want that change to make it happen. Jim I do believe that fulfills my end of our bargain, "renounce Rob Nichols in the strongest possible terms".

For all to understand, I, the folks are CGW did not suddenly have an attack of wanting to be better members of the community. Of wanting to raise their ethics. To embrace more of a golden-rule administration of their website. If they have made any tangible changes in that direction, it is only because of the heat that I, with the help of many others, have finally brought to bear on their disgusting enterprise. With the evidence we are still sitting on, it is clear that they are not yet very serious about anything for the better.

Josh, I do not need a second chance. Not yet anyway. That is where you still do not get it. We made a mistake with the escapes, and owned up to it voluntarily from the beginning. We explained exactly how it happened always. We did not commit travesties against humankind, or Mother Nature, even by accident. Mother Nature around here is fine by us. The experts, the FWC, said so. As did many others in the thread.

I have never conducted myself as Nichols has. AI have always spoken out quickly when anyone remotely associated with me even came close to that kind of crap. Further, I have never thrown a first stone in my life. But I do not lie down when attacked. Ever.

Thank you for finally stating what you have about Nichols. There are folks in this hobby still afraid to do such, and that is not an assumption on my part. I have been told that directly by those folks. As recently as yesterday. You stand above them. Kudos for that. I applaud you for saying that part of your post. While it appeared to me that you were a supporter of his prior, I was mistaken, and that any confusion that I had about such is clearly no longer so.

This is while the planning thread was active over in CGW, believing that they could contact FWC such that I would be fined, put out of business, etc. One day later, on the 18th, Josh posted the bad guy thread, attacking me, and my business. Josh noted that he thinks very poorly of Rob otherwise, and I believe him, but Rob was very much in on the discussion regardless. Seems that when Rob is useful, he is OK.

This call is representative of many of the calls that Robert Nichols, age 48, of Simi Valley CA, has made to others these last few years. Calling at all hours. Harassing folks with obscene messages. Many times attacking family members as well. Cursing those who may actually pick up the phone. Etc. Rob really thinks he is a tough guy ..........

As noted in the other thread, the legal concern is about recording a phone call, and then sharing it with anyone but law enforcement. In this case, Robert Nichols left me a voicemail, a voluntary recording of his choosing, thereby forfeiting any right of privacy, not just under Florida Law, but by all reckoning, under the Laws of every state in the Union. I own it, and can do whatever I want with it. Enjoy.
