In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

RodentPro Rocks!

For me, the only bummer thing about Rodent Pro is how they package their rats. I lose so much freezer space due to how they are packed. That is pretty frustrating. Other than that, I agree. I will continue to do buisness with them! I just wish they would "tray" their rats. In the sceme of things.......It's not a huge deal.

I have used Rodent pro, and will always be pleased with there packaging, and there service.
Plus there rodents are nice an fat! Makes mouths happy (the boas of course...lol)

RodentPro **cks

You may fill in the appropriate letters above and I'll give you a hint, they don't spell rocks! In a previous thread concerning this company I posted about pinkie rats that arrived severely freezer burned with limbs and even heads broken off. I mentioned that since I've had problems with their smaller rodents I would only buy larger items from RodentPro because they had good pricing and shipping was made cheaper by using Greyhound. Well, so much for that!
When I tried to place my last order for colossal rats I could not use the "GPX" shipping feature which stands for Greyhound Express which is considerably cheaper than UPS for heavy orders. Since this feature at their web site does not work I tried ordering by phone and left messages TWICE and NEVER EVEN GOT A RESPONSE. Out of frustration, I finally ordered online even though I had no choice but to use UPS. In my order I explained in the special notation section that I wanted the animals shipped Greyhound and the shipping price adjusted accordingly. I also e-mailed them separately about this problem and by phone once more and again I got no response!
Well, the items eventually arrived by UPS with no notice whatsoever. I had absolutely no idea there was a shipment coming and when they did arrive one box had a large hole in the corner where the seam had burst open. Excessive moisture condensation and the weight of the contents weakened the box until the rats were literally almost falling out of the box. All of the boxes contents were half defrosted so I immediately put them into a deep freezer. Can you imagine what would have happened had I not been here to receive them? It would have been a total loss had I been away on vacation or even away for the day.
I am extremely disappointed with RodentPro. I spend thousands of dollars on rodents every year and whether they realize it or not much of my business does not go to them. Perhaps if they knew what they're missing they'd wake up. I have not seen any hint of the excellent "customer service" everyone raves about. No returned phone calls or response to e-mails and no delivery notice for half frozen rodents (even if it is the wrong carrier) is not my idea of a well run company.
I just placed an order with Big Cheese Rodent Factory that would have gone to RodentPro if they had their act together. Believe it or not when I called Big Cheese someone was actually there to answer the phone and was very helpful. Now that's a welcome relief and well worth the extra cost involved.

I've ordered a ton of times from them and have never experienced any issues like that. As far as not getting notice of them coming I'd have to wonder about that, any spam control software that might have blocked it? Usually any order generates 3 emails: Order confirmation instantly, a confirmation later on that gives the planned ship date and carrier, a ship notification with tracking numbers.

Btw, was that a "Leverton style" box?

Wow Greg! I am sorry to hear about that. I am one of the fortunate people who actually live within driving distance to them. We set up a time to meet and they arrived exactly as agreed too. I could not recommend them enough.

I have used rodentpro for about 3 years now. Only ever had one problem, they could not fill my rat pup order because they over sold them. That happens to the best of them though. Anyway, I place a $800-$900 order every 6-8 months. I won't use any other company. They have the best prices, service, and packaging.

Have to Disagree

As far as having the best pricing, I'll give you that. Best packaging and customer service goes to Big Cheese Rodent in my book. Their animals are vacuum sealed and neatly lined up all in a row atop a styrofoam insert. They take up much less space and the animals are super clean. I knew posting here was going to get every pro RodentPro advocate posting and I used to be one of them. I'd voice my complaint with them if there was someone there willing to listen and more importantly RESPOND! :hot:

Greg,

I am curious if you got the first two e-mails from them. The first one is automatically generated when you place the order. The second is the "human" confirmation. If you did not get both of those you may in fact have "filtered" the shipping notice as Richard suggested. In that case you might also have missed any replies they sent to you. Just a thought.

Your comments regarding their packaging of rodents are legitimate, I agree. They ought to vacuum pack like the others do and I would be willing to pay a bit more if they invested in that technology. Short of that, they ought to move to the thicker, easy seal Ziplock bags. For me that would make feeding time easier.

Despite those shortcomings, I still will buy from them as they are the best value. Even if I lose 10% due to freezer burn (which I don't) they are still a better buy.

Matter of choice....

I made a purchase from Rodent Pro a couple of months ago for comparison purposes. The other company I ordered from is The Mouse Factory.

The price was very good and the rodents were nice and big and seemed very well cared for. The shipping was excellent, although pricey. I had only ordered larger animals and I didn't care for the packaging. Many bags had holes from tails and feet.

Am I complaining? No! I thaw the rats, wash them (standard practice for me), and heat them up. No rat has been refused.

Will I order from them again? Of course!

I order from TMF because I prefer the vacuum seal/tray packages, especially with the small mice and rats. Much more convenient for storage. I am feeding from mouse pinks (vacuum sealed small bags) all the way to jumbo rats and need an easy way to sparate everything. I also keep the rodents in the same freezer as my meat and want the packaged well sealed.

It's a matter of preference, IMO.

I have been doing business with Rodent Pro for some time now, but this past Memorial Day weekend, I had an unpleasant experience.
My order had not arrived after 3 days. I call my local UPS office, and the package had been routed through MA, I live in CT.
They found the package, and routed it back to me...after I mentioned what was in the package, and what it would smell like on the day after the holiday weekend after being in transit six days.
The UPS driver arrives around 7pm, and when I openend the package, everything was pretty much thawed.
I emailed Rodent Pro, and never received a response.Being a holiday weekend, I got couaght up, and never followed through.
I thought maybe it was time to find a new supplier.
I did however like their product, and rabbits are not sold everywhere.
A subsequent order this past week led to a conversation about the thawed order, and Casey asked me what was in it.
After 3 months, I could'nt remember. He said they wanted to make good on it.
I asked about him sending me product equal to what I spent on a thawed shipment.
Within a week, they were at my door, with even more in there than I asked for.All frozen solid.
I live on a major hub, so when Rodent Pro shipping was 2 days, I'd get my order overnight. RP is now delivering UPS 3 day service, and I receive my package in two days.
However, in line with UPS losing my past order, this one came in looking as though the plane crashed! Box was totally smashed.
Yet the rodents were still totally frozen.
Rodent Pro=good
UPS=Bad

I got another large order from them last week, all was well. The pinks were vacuum sealed, the larger peices were in superduty ziplocks. Snakes said they taste good. :)

I gotta order on Friday. I wrote to them about the shortage and how I can never get small rats! He said there is a shortage this time of year and to order Friday. If anyone in the West Palm area wants to go in on an order, let me know!

Their customer service is second to none. On our recent order they were very accomodating with a special request we had. It's a pleasure to deal with people like Casey, highly professional all the way!

Regards.

I have only positive things to say about rodent pro.

1. Rodents are always frozen and there has always been some dry ice left by the time it arrives.

2. Package always arrives when they say it will. If they say they are shipping out next Tuesday for Thursday arrival, they ship out next Tuesday and I get it on Thursday.

3. Friendly, fast, reliable customer service. I've ordered both online using their webpage, called in and talked to them, and even called in and left my order on their answering machine. Not a single problem yet.

4. Rodent size is, with one exception, as described on their website. See below for my one "bad" experience.

5. Rodents have always been fresh and never smelly (well, as far as rats go).

6. They are inexpensive compared to other online vendors.

My one "bad" experience:

I put "bad" in quotations because it highlights that this incident resulted in a positive experience. It was my second order with them. I ordered quite a few medium rats and upon receiving them I noticed that they seemed a bit small. They were labeled as medium rats, so I weighed each one individually and their overall weight averaged out to be less than their cutoff for medium rats. I emailed them, explaining the situation and suggesting a possible course of action. I felt that since I received small rats when I ordered medium rats I should be refunded or credited the difference. They agreed and turned a possibly negative situation into a positive one. I have since ordered a box every month and will continue to do so. THAT is why they are a GREAT business.

I'm impressed!

I just received my first order from Rodent-pro, and I'm extremely satisfied with the product, the packaging, the shipping and the customer service!

And their Prices!

I ordered over 300 rats from xxxl to pinkies, for comparison, I worked out what the same order would have cost from ARS, TMF, and Big Cheese. I also had it shipped Greyhound Package Express. My total, including shipping, was $80 less than the next cheapest, $150 less than the most expensive WITHOUT shipping. Their XXXL are almost twice the size of the competetor's largest available, but are still lower priced.

All the rats are clean, NO bedding. There were a few feces in the pink and pup bags, but no more than you would reasonably expect. Everything arrived frozen rock hard, yet without any freezer burn.

Also, the package was scheduled to arrive at 2pm today, Greyhound got it here at 8am!

Rodent-pro's customer service was excellent also, I called to ask a few questions before I ordered, the gentleman I spoke to was friendly and more than helpful. They even called me yesterday to make sure I new the package was en route.

In short, I'd definitely recommend them to anyone needing bulk frozen feeders, without hesitation.

I have ordered from RodentPro a couple of times when i had a 13 foot burmese and ten carpet pythons. The packaging was excellent. I received one order in the middle of a heat wave and everything was still frozen solid. I have never been dissappointed with RodentPro, just wish they would vaccum seal their product. I am ready to make another order since I have received another burmese. I also have compared prices and find them to be the cheapest around.

I normally order my rodents from Big Cheese or the Mouse Factory, but couldn't resist RP's XL rats on sale for $1.00. I just recieved 2 Greyhound boxes full of XL rats and could not be happier, all are clean and have good size. I was so pleased I ordered 2 more boxes.

I have to ordered from Rodent Pro and have liked there animals. Always good but AmericanRodent.com has the same stuff at the same price or better with FREE SHIPPING of orders of 100+. Give Brian a call he has chicks and quail also. If you live in Indy you can pick it up at his shows. Great guy AAAA++++ service and frozen rodents. Thanks Brian.
