I am on the adoption comittee for the Pacific Northwest Herpetological Society (www.pnwhs.org) in Washington state. We have gotten to the point where our half-way housers are so overloaded that we've decided to try offering our available animals to those in other areas. We are willing to ship and are currently working on becoming an approved shipper. All adoptions will require the adoptee to become a member of the society ($12 for correspondence membership and $15 for full membership) for one year. Animals officially remain the property of PNHS for the first year (this is just to protect them in the event that abuse becomes evident). The adoptee must be willing to give us updates on the animal's condition during the first year and we will require that the animals be taken in for a health check and have a fecal performed after 6 months. A copy of the vet's report will need to be sent to The Society. The reason we have such requirements is that we are concerned for the well being of the animals we adopt out. We keep our adoption fees low because we perfer the animals to find good homes rather than trying to make money off of them. All adoption fees go the adoption program for PNHS and provide funding for vet visits, food for the animals, lighting, heat and caging for the animals. PNHS is a registered Washington state non-profit organization. The sexes and morphs of the animals listed is based upon data given at time of release this has not been verified, but can be upon request.
