    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

No way, not at all. Im just saying taht unfortunately you cant always judge a book by its cover, sometimes you have to open it and read the sleeve.

If I were to hold a grudge on everyone who's inquired then backed out, I wouldn't have any time to get anything done. It's part of business, either you deal with it professionally and let it go because you know that there are more than just that single prospective customer... Or you act out on it.

Posting on the OP's ad was a little unnecessary.

Why is everyone missing the fact that I don't care that she backed out, I care that she LIED to me about why she was backing out then went bumping her ad like she didn't think I'd notice. I can't stand someone with no integrity.

Did anyone actually read the emails, or are they going just based on the forum posts?
 
And the thing that totally eludes me, is how people can agree that a bad guy thread is warranted for a few posts in ads that no one probably even saw.

I think it might be time to sell off my collection and find a different hobby.

Shadera, BREATHE...

I dont think anyone here thinks that a bad guy thread about you is warranted. In fact, most people are saying that it should have been handled differently from the start, from both parties.
 
I can understand where you're coming from Shadera. Elizabeth - all you needed to say was that you'd decided to continue looking, and thank her for her consideration. At the moment, I have several snakes for sale, and get daily inquiries about them. Many people swear they'll be sending money "right away" only to never have it sent. We get used to people backing out, so that's definitely not where the issue lies. The issue lies in the time Shadera put into giving you the time and effort and the benefit of the doubt in a very generous payment plan, and you making up an excuse rather than just admiting you no longer wanted to complete the deal. You just needed to be honest, and say "I've decided to keep looking, sorry if I took up your time, and thank you for your generosity." Sometimes saying the TRUTH goes a lot further than saying a lie that you think is kinder

The OP seems like they have the possibility of being a deadbeat buyer anyhow and I know you were just trying to warn everyone about that possibility but, you know we are not supposed to detract from their thread.

Dean be careful here. Do you have any proof that she hasn't paid for anything to make this statement? You are getting into some libelous territory. Just because she changes her mind doesn't make her a deadbeat buyer.

I don't think this thread is merited but obviously others do. I think both arties should walk away and move on. In time i think they both will realize that it really had no significance on their well being. Good luck to both and keep herping.

Dean stated it as opinion not fact, therefore it is not subject to libel action
 
This just turned ugly all the way around and fast, and I sure wouldn't let something such as this make me feel I should let my hobby go, not worth it at all..

It will blow over, not telling you what to do but I'd try to ignore it and not post on her ads, it just makes things looks worse.

Katie couldn't have said it better.. I think it is silly... Let it rest so they BOTH don't end up ban or BOTH looking like bad guys :confused:

Mike, there is no libel or slander in my statement, hence the word "possibility". The verbage in which I used makes it an opinion and nothing more. We would actually have to have a defnition as to what a deadbeat buyer was to justify libel or slander. If the deal was agreed upon with Shadera, as the OP stated that it was, to some, that would be a deadbeat buyer being that she backed out of a deal. I, however, do not look at a complete deal until money or property changes hands. Others do not though.
 
Like no one here telling me I was wrong for posting on her ad has never done the same thing. We've ALL done it. Like I said, I got my lump on the back of the head for it and I deserved it, can we let that go?

Its a deal that didnt work but we keep responding. Therefore adding fuel to the fire. In a week it will be forgotten.

Shadera this will not change my opinion of you. We habe not met but i have seen the quality of your snakes and i have always been impressed. So keep doing what you do girl. Wwe need good people in our business.

Elizabeth, I know your relatively new. You took my pastel i wanted from Sheldon. (im kidding of course). Learn from this and try and inform buyers of your intent and situation more. Sellers will respect and work with you more if you are upfront.

Now lets all go and sharpen our knives and carve up the real bad guys in this business

I waited once for 2 weeks while another member was supposed to be waiting on a Ebay check cause he sold his Guitar,well no sale two weeks later and I see the guy posting all the time but ya know its not worth callin someone a bad guy over!
Interupting someones threads of sale or want is a No No sorry
 
A lie is a lie to me. I am completely honest with people in business dealings, and I expect the same in return. Just because others have lower standards doesn't mean we all do. :NoNo:
