In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Shannon Brown straight up ripped me off

happy ending

I think whether or not the end is happy, and I hope it is, you said he sent you gacked up snakes. Were you lying? If you were telling the truth, he should not have sent defective snakes. I hope he makes it up to you, but part of the function of the BOI is to allow people who are considering future transactions to choose whether or not they want to do business with a particular vendor.

I recently bought about $2000 worth of gray-banded Kingsnakes from Shannon Brown. When I received them, about half of them had spinal kinks, odd lumps, and numerous other visible defects that he failed to mention before he took my money

The OP has made about four posts. One to say there was a problem with his shipment of snakes and he couldn't reach the seller. Three posts to state that the situation is in the process of being resolved.

You also had another buyer of the target of this thread come on and post he also had problems. Followed up by, his situation is also being fixed. Time will tell.

The second buyer also stated he asked Shannon about the first poster and Shannon stated he contacted him.

Nobody (Shannon particularly) is on here disputing what either poster has stated.

Both parties seem to be happy that their situations are working out. Great! Particularly since other threads involving Shannon took years for resolutions.

So, I don't see why the constant fodder about posting more evidence or asking him if is "lying" because is situation is being resolved.

Unless Shannon is disputing the situation, (which it appears he isn't or he would be on here) then for me Chuck, I don't see a need for you to do anything else while you are getting this situation resolved. I wouldn't want you to jeopardize the outcome since you are happy with the resolution that is suppose to take place.

Shannon has enough threads with his success and failures for people to make a clear judgment if they want to deal with him.

That's just my opinion. Of course others will want more.

But I think that others "suggesting" you are a liar or that this thread somehow reflects badly on you is unfounded. There is nothing posted to suggest either.

Good Luck with your situation.

I don't want proof that the animals are kinked. Proof would help if Shannon wasn't taking responsibility; He is. The reason I am wanting more from this is that Shannon still has snakes that I am interested in. I just want to know if the deformities are something that slipped through unnoticed, or if Shannon made the conscious decision to send snakes that he knew were sub-par.

Thanks Dennis, I appreciate that, I really do. I thought it was a bit absurd to suggest I might be lying. I'm just trying to take the high road here. I try to do the right thing every chance I get. If Shannon is indeed trying to make things right, then I just don't feel it's necessary to continue to mercilessly hammer the guy, just to satisfy the blood lust of the spectators. For what it's worth, I was reading the other threads about Shannon during the brief period that I was unable to reach him and that may have caused me to react prematurely. As you said, time will tell, and I'll be sure to post an update when he fulfills the terms of or agreement, or fails to do so.

I don't think you are lying.

I do believe Shannon is trying to make it right.

I am just wondering if it takes a keen eye to see the defects, or if they would have been difficult to miss if they were in a collection for any period of time.

It is not hammering the guy to tell how severe the defects are. You have already said that many had defects. If they were defects that Shannon could have missed you would be helping him. If they are defects that anyone would have noticed, it just maintains the feeling of the original post. No more damage will be done.

I know I am not the only person who is interested in Shannon's available snakes. I just don't want to buy if there if you think he knew they were messed up when he sent them. To me, there is a big difference between an accident that he is trying to remedy, and a an intentional misdealing. I am just trying to picture which this is.

I do not think you are lying, I think you were telling the truth when you posted this:

As I mentioned, I'm glad he is making right, but you should not have been sent 'gacked up' snakes to begin with.

**UPDATE** I received 2 of my 3 snakes this morning, and they both look beautiful! I found out yesterday that the male hypo passed away sometime between yesterday morning and afternoon. I have no doubt that he was cared for properly as the other two look great, and the guy who had my snakes feels responsible and offered to trade or buy me another one. I don't feel that someone who wasn't supposed to have the snakes in the first place should be held responsible at all, and it's been 7 days since they were first shipped and there wasn't a guarantee with Shannon, so if he had died in my care it would have been my loss anyway.

I'm still waiting to hear if the snakes I sent made it there safe and sound, so hopefully everything is fine there. I'll post pics of my 2 new girls in a bit.

I think Shannon should replace that hypo, because of this whole mix up.

:iagree:

That is kind of weird that it died so fast... Do you or the other party have any idea why the snake died so fast? Was it showing signs of respiratory issues, skinny, etc?

Jeff (the guy who had my snakes) and I talked about that trying to figure out why he may have died, and the only thing I could come up with was he may have had something before they were shipped to Jeff. He fed them 3 days after they got there, which was fine since we both discussed that also before feeding, and they all ate. I also fed his rat snake 3 days after. They pooped before shipping yesterday, so I really don't think that has anything to do with it. It's one of those things where we both have no idea. If he had signs of respiratory or was skinny or anything I'm sure he would have let me know right away, and we stayed in contact pretty well throughout this whole thing.

BTW if anyone has a chance to do business with Jeff Peters, definitely do it! He has been awesome through this and if anything happens I am 100% sure he will not hesitate to make it right!

I'm not sure if Shannon knows about the snake yet, and I received an email from him this morning saying he was going to be out of town for a couple days with no mention of it. I sent him an email back about the snake, but it may be a couple days before I hear anything.

I am not sure if anyone did a screen capture, but I was very interested in the group of Hueco Gray-bands and I remember thinking 'wow, these snakes all look very thin'. Especially the other ones that were being offered and especially for being such special snakes. As you know, if a snake is way underfed, feeding them can actually kill them. You have to be very careful when you find a snake that has been loose for a long time. If you feed it heavily (to make up for lost time), you will often kill it.

Where is Shannon?

I don't know much about the gray bands but the bullsnakes in the ad pic looked healthy and a decent weight. It is hard to tell by pics sometimes but nothing was noticeably wrong. I'm sure Jeff could tell if he was skinny when he received him since he also has experience with bullsnakes, and he would have let me know.

On a happy note...

She was being a tad "spunky" and uncooperative lol The other pics I took were worse :)

Shannon, be a stand up guy and replace the hypo. You shouldn't even question it once proof is recieved the hypo died. We did some business a few years back and all went well, was surprized by this thread.
