Well it did not pan out.

Webtv assigns dynamic IP addresses just like aol does.
So a lot of people from florida who use webtv will have the same IP address.

So I have to withdraw my previous thoughts and assumptions.

At the very least, one would have to assume that someone contacted Mr. Pippen (I believe that is his name!?!?!?) to post here on behalf of Simply Snakes. The new inability of non-registered people to view the BOI precludes anything else being possible, it would seem.

I guess there is nothing inherently wrong with it, but I have just never liked the idea of people asking for supporters to come here just for the purpose of posting on their behalf. It smacks of gladhanding politicking to me.

I think that simply snakes has shown a lot of class by staying out of this other than the initial post or two. To me it would have been as bad if they would have been on here ranting about the vulger email they recieved as opposed to the rantings that Evan has been spouting about the marginaly rude (open to interpretation) comment he recieved. So SS contacted someone who they trusted and had dealt with to step in and say a few words on their behalf. (if they in fact did it which they may or may not have) I think it is a wise strategy given some people's ways.

I don't know SS but I believe that they would have left this lie after the email they got. I doubt if they would have done anything more (at least publicly) it does not surprise me in the least to see which party it was to bring it public. If either of the parties in this case is pathetic it is not them

And as far as deleting the thread, that's one of the nice things about the BOI. You step in your own big pile of s**t and there is no way you can wipe it off. You will stink forever. Its amazing (well not really, it makes sense, but its amazing that people think this way) that the ones who usually want threads deleted are the one that look the worst in it.

Actually, I believe you've jumped to conclusions. I don't think anyone was thinking of Paul Moody when they were saying the style of typing reminded them (us) of someone, who has his own reputation on here. The someone we were thinking of lives elsewhere in Florida, and has WebTv. Paul and Beth have AOL.

This is only tangentally on topic, but... the topic probably doesn't merit further discussion anyway. I figured I'd pass on some info for our resident ferret.

This is about dynamic IP addresses. When a DHCP server assigns a dynamic IP address, that address comes with a "lease" period. It's usually at least 24 hours. It could be longer. So, even if someone logs off and back on, or turns their computer off and back on, they will have the same IP address associated with their computer for the lease period. If two posts come close together (under 24 hrs) and have the same IP address, they are from the same user. You can have dynamic IP addressing through your internet provider and actually keep the same IP address for quite a while.

Web TV is more like a proxy server.

Anyway I would like to see this guy's so called "proof" that he is not Paul Moody.

Because even though I do not think he is Paul.......I would still be interested in his so called proof.

I do not think that there is a black mark on Paul for this, he can't be responsible or control other peoples actions, that is just silly.
Though it is still beyond me why this thread is still here. I didn't know a curt e-mail could constitute going to the BOI.
If this is allowed to stay then it is open for all to do the same thing on the BOI.
