In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ok so where do i begin, about two weeks ago i came across some boas that were being sold as a package deal here on fauna, not sure if anyone else contacted the person selling it or got any other info as well. It was a female sharp snowglow boa and a male kahl sunglow. It was nearby and at a great price so i jumped on it because they were priced to sell and nearby. I am more than happy with them but have a concern with the female, she does have a very slight amount of orange on her tail ad thats where i am confused as i thought the anery gene took all red/orange pigment out. I did tell the guy my concerns though and he agreed with me posting pictures and info up on here for others opinions, and then to forward the link to him. To give him credit though he did have it posted on fauna about the slight color on her tail so wasnt really being sneaky about it. So i picked them up and he offered me a refund if things didnt work out. So here i am looking for advice because if she is indeed a snowglow i got a great deal, but if she is just a sharp or sharp het anery plus the male kahl sunglow it was a bit high on price. So here is a little background info, he said he got her a while back from a man named Ben who worked at Reptile Depot here in chatsworth california, but the shop is now closed so there isnt a way to contact him. The explanation from "Ben" as to why she looks the way she looks is because her mother was an almost completely red sharp coral albino het anery, and the male was a snowglow. The males parents were said to be from the coral line also. So with that being said she was labeled by "Ben" as a "lower end" snowglow and thats why he gave him a better deal. Of course pictures do a lot more explaining than just words and i actually took some today but dont exactly know how to post them on here. I took them with my phone so quality isnt the best but it is more than enough to be able to tell by them and see what im talking about. I have some of herself and some with the sunglow for comparision. If some of you could help me out id appreciate it as i dont want to wait too long before he changes his mind, and the more opinions the better so we have a fair amount of thoughts and not just one or two. If you guys can help me post pictures on here i will, or if not id me more than happy to email them to you guys as well. Thanks and i appreciate any and all help than will be provided. Sorry for such a long essay just wanted to get all the info out there. As for the price and name of the guy who sold it i wont mention, i promised itd be anonymous. Thanks again.

A "lower end" Snowglow?

Without seeing photos I would bet money that the animal is a Sunglow. It does not matter if the mother was solid red, a Snowglow will not have color on it unless it was some sort of a paradox and at that point, it would not likely be sold at a low price.

Sharp Snowglows are not common and for a neonate the price tag of 3K or more seems about the average by today's market, a market a couple years back would have seen even higher prices. Maybe a little less, but for an older one you would definitely expect to pay a good chunk of change.

Sounds to me like it's probably a lower end Sunglow that has lost nearly all its color as it ages and given Reptile Depot's reputation, I'd say they were intentionally deceptive. I can't help you with posting photos from your phone.Easiest thing to do probably would be to either e-mail it to yourself and save it to an actual computer or use a USB connection to transfer it.

I hate to say it (j/k), but I think Shadow's right. Most snowglows I've seen carry a pretty considerable price tag, particularly if they're a couple years old. I can't imagine a breeder calling their animal a "lower end" snowglow.

As for adding pictures, in the Quick Reply screen is a button that says "Insert Image." That works for things from public sites like photobucket. If that doesn't help, click "Go Advanced" at the bottom of the Quick Reply screen. There will be a paperclip icon near the center of the top row above the dialog box. Clicking that pulls up a window that will allow you to post pictures from your computer (or removable storage device). Sorry if this doesn't address the issue. That's about all the help I know how to give on the subject, lol.

I didn't know there was a "coral" sharp line. I would love to see that, but I have never actually heard of them. The albinos I've seen referred to as "coral" are called that because they came from the original Kahl Coral line. Are there actually coral sharps? I'll have to do some searching for images of those.

Yeah, I just noticed the trouble with pics involves getting them posted from your phone. I'm a low-tech kinda guy and have no idea how to do that. Sorry I misunderstood that part.

No, there are not, but people who are misinformed or trying to take advantage of a market inaccurately call colorful albinos "Coral" even though they are not.

I appreciate the help from you guys and i myself had a few doubts but just wanted to be sure. I do know my stuff about them and morphs, i have a number of boas also with snow genetics. I just wanted to be sure as of course i have my side and he has his so I thought we wouldn't get anywhere with both of us pushing our sides of our opinions if that makes sense. So I thought id get others opinions as well. I do know what they go for as well and let's say what i paid for them was about half of the price they are going for, so I thought I'd pick them up and figure things out for myself without missing the chance, and since he offered a refund if id like I thought it couldn't hurt. All the info as for the parents and where he got it I didn't recieve until after they were in my possession. I will try and post the pictures later on today so you guys can look forward to those, it should be easier now with the step by step help I was just provided with. Thanks again

yeah I'm not seeing any hypo in there either and deff. not anery. Sorry to say but I agree, looks like an albino.

no need to be sorry, this is the type of feedback that i was looking for whether she was or wasnt a snowglow. kind of had the idea in my mind that maybe she wasnt one either. just wanted to be sure and see what a few others thought

Yeah so am i, was looking forward to her actually being one but it happens. I'm just glad i had some sort of knowledge from the start and found out sooner rather than later

Haha i sure did, quite a bit more than that for her and a male sunglow. The guy who sold her to me though lives nearby and promised a refund if things didn't work out. So i have still to talk to him about these results. I'm just waiting for some results on kingsnake as well so he can see feedback from two different sites and sees that no one could be influenced by anyone elses words. It doesn't seem like people like helping much on there though. In 24 hours i have only gotten a reply from one person about an hour ago.
