    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This will be my first year going to this show, and I'm looking forward to meeting some of my friends and acquaintances from Fauna!

At the moment I am making plans and would like some feedback.

Should I fly into Midway or O'hare?

Midway is closer but O'hare is non-stop for me. How far is each airport from Tinley park? Is there a reason (Tolls, traffic etc...) I shouldn't fly into O'hare?

How far is Chicago (Downtown) from Tinley Park?

What is my best option for shipping snakes on Saturday with Sunday USPS, UPS and Fed EX Closed. (I live in Florida so it still should be warm here waiting on me but...) This is my biggest concern. I don't want to fly there find all these great snakes and be SOL trying to send them back before my plane leaves.

EDIT: Flying to Ohare is about $50.00 cheaper

Your best option would be to leave the shipping money with the seller and have him/her ship on Monday.

Downtown Chicago is roughly 30 minutes by train.

that's a good thought but could be costly unless I find someone who will ship all my snakes I get from diffrent breeders. (Thinking of asking someone but not sure how that would go...)
 
Well you will have to find someone reliable and ask him if he could ship all your purchases together. It might not be easy but then again, do you have any other option. As far as your other question in deciding between Midway or O'Hare, I prefer Midway. It's fairy easy and inexpensive to take the train from there to downtown and then take the other train at the station to Tinley Park.

Ask one of the breeders with whom you expect to spend a significant amount of your budget (about shipping ALL of your snakes). Ask BEFORE you buy, as the answer may help you determine who to purchase from, and the possible sale may be motivation for them to be helpful to you. If it happens to be a local breeder, it may be easier for them to ship, rather than somebody who is a long way from home. But distance from home is not necessarily a problem for them - ask and see what they say.

I just finished booking my trip and also got the VIP tickets for the show. I will be there Friday. I'm not sure what if anything I will buy but it's good to know if I do buy a few snakes I don't have to sneak them on the airplane ;-) J/K But for real that is awesome, thank you.

I am going with a group of four or five others. Not sure about dinner because I do not know what the plans really are but maybe we can at least meet up somewhere to put faces with screen names.
 
I'm hoping to go. I use to live up there and I really want to meet some people I've been online with face to face. Plus an added bonus PIZZA!!!
 
Hubby and I plan on going. We've had our rooms reserved since August!

We usually just eat in the Hotel restaraunt and drink in the bar then we can weave our way to the elevator and pass out-LOL! I'll be walking relatively straight (no more binges for me!) so I get to push the "UP" button!

If you all want to meet somewhere, post it, as I'd love to meet all of you too. Was thinking of wearing a name badge (the kind you get at Staples) with my logo on it just in case someone wanted to say hello.

This show is always so much fun! Don't miss the PIJAC auction if you can help it-- it's a BLAST and it's for a great cause!
