• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Inquiry Steve Miles

Oh...People believed it was you? People are getting involved because someone stole $3,000, and we just want to know who it was. It doesn't effect me enough to lose my real account by creating a fake one.

No......I am not the real Stephen Miles, but look how easy it is to make a fake profile on a website, and people believe it's you. Also why the hell is everyone getting involved. Other then the broker, and the purchaser, does any of this effect you? I know it doesn't me.

Not as smart as you think.

Dennis, is it against forum policy to share the name of the person that created the fake account? It does show their character, and may help people make future purchasing/selling decisions.

Interesting. It obviously affects you a great deal, as you have actually created a bogus account to make some sort of irrelevant point about how easy it is to create a bogus account.

Moderator ... IP check please, aisle 3.

Yes, it is. But you were being watched. In effect, I was handing you the rope and sitting back to watch what you did with it.

What a surprise, who would have thought this person would do something as unethical and deceptive as this?

I wonder if she rose up with fleas?

That seems like a pretty shady thing for a paralegal to do...

Yes, in my opinion, it was. It shows that the was ready and willing to LIE during the registration process in order to create that bogus account in order to help out her friend. This is indisputable, as the profile fields she knowingly and willingly filled out are obviously not the truth.

That account has been banned permanently, of course. I do hope that Ms. Betancur was smart enough to log out of her bogus account before it got banned.

And for the record, if she pulls another stunt like this, her original account will be banned from this site as well. I've really got no patience for people who want to pull stunts like this.

Actually, I didn't do it. My boyfriend did. I thought he made a good point, though, and that it was funny. Please, go ahead and ban me if you'd like. At the end of the day, it's an internet forum, for crying out loud! Go play with your snakes and get off the computer for a while.

I don't understand the point. If someone did come here to say that he is Stephen Miles, he would be doing so to defend himself.

A fake account would only be needed to help Carson. Posting "I am Steve Miles, and yes I made some bad decisions. I am currently working to fix this with Carson." Might have helped.

This one did not.

You made a fool of yourself long before pulling this DECEPTIVE little stunt. I also think you know your buddy has fibbed quite a bit and I'm sure by now now you are trying to get kicked off. I hope that doesn't happen just yet. Boyfriend's fault? Yeah right. You accept as much responsibility for your actions as Carson. And you had the nerve to call me a troll, drama queen, etc? You're a joke.

At the end of the day, your little charade was an epic fail; no point whatsoever was made and YOU (and your boyfriend?) were the one(s) sitting on the computer at this internet forum wasting time & breaking rules.

Seems like you should be the one to step away.
