I purchased my normal Burm there about mid August and everything was O.K. I started going in there once a week to buy feeders until I found a cheaper place to purchase them online. I then adopted a baby a DH Sunglow B.C.I in early September and had some conversations about general care and mentioned I was building a bigger enclosure for the Burm and I was immediately branded as irresponsible becauce my cage "wouldn't do its job of keeping temps and humidity up". Once I converted my collection to F/T, I went back to get more feeders (order from supplier was waiting to be shipped) and I told the daughter that I was planning on doing a Sunglow breeding project. She then said" I'm sorry but I think you've been had. Sunglow is not a simple recessive trait." I tried to explain that it doesn't have to be a simple recessive trait to show up and I was only met with more contempt, and I was later told by her that this morph didn't exist! While I admit I am no genetics expert, I do a lot of research and I would certainly look into something like that. I stayed away for a few weeks until today when I needed to get some F/T quail because my Green Anaconda had gone off feed. I know that every species of snake will do this, and I was met with more criticism that I have encountered there before. I dealt with the mother this time, and she told me that " It's not my problem that your snakes are suffering. that is what you get when you buy online and at shows...". My biggest problem is this, why would you berate me instead of helping me solve the problem? I have 10 years experience with snakes, and I am human so I do make mistakes, but my animals have never suffered for it. If I have any issues I ask questions on my herp forum or I call a vet because some of those people have way more knowledge and experience than I do. Friends of mine have had similar experiences with this store and I don't know how they stay in business with service and incompetence like this.
