• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Stricter controls for new registrations.

Spammers are getting more and more clever all of the time, apparently. So I have to get tougher with the hoops new registrations will have to jump through in order to register here. It's nothing that any legitimate person would even blink at, but those fields in the registration process that are answered with what looks like bogus entries, or things like the location doesn't match what the IP address is telling me, will have me looking closer at the registration and possible blocking the registration.

People being flip with those field entries will also raise a red flag, and anything else that looks suspicious will have them being blocked as well. It is probably pretty unlikely to find "John Doe" living on Mars...

Prospective members may want to make certain that emails issued from [email protected] will not be blocked by your ISP as well, as bounced emails and failed email verification checks will flag those attempted registrations as being suspicious.

Proxy IP addresses will also be more closely scrutinized along with the above, so bear that in mind. If you wish to be completely anonymous on the web, this likely is not the website for you if you wish to participate in most sections of it. Yes, people can just make up false names, but myself and the mods will be scrutinizing such cases more closely when they are found, and will take appropriate action as needed.

In a like vein, pretty shortly I may be instituting a policy whereby the FULL NAME rule that is applied to the BOI will be extended to cover the classifieds sections as well. Notices will also be placed warning people to consider avoiding doing business if the name they are sending their money to does not match the name on their account here. And vice versa. If you are doing business with someone who appears to have reason to hide their identity, then you may want to be a bit cautious about how you handle that transaction.

I also suggest that anyone doing business with someone on this site who determines that a false name has been used in registration to please notify the mods or myself, preferably by using the REPORT A POST function, so we can be made aware of this.

This has not been implemented yet, but expect that to happen shortly.

Now that I am retired, I will have a bit more time to play around with things here..... ( Heck, I can actually hear GROANS from some people.....)

But hey, I can't let myself get bored now, can I? :hehe:

So hey, Mr. Retired Guy I've been wanting to ask if you could change my name from A.G.May to Annabella May but before I always figured you were to busy for stuff like that.

Will you please fix it for me?

Yeah, OK, but you have to promise to ditch that avatar of yours with the devil cat on it. It gives me the willies looking at it....

Ok, no more demon kitty, now it's hatchet fish :D

I really liked demon kitty though, I'm going to have to find him an e-home somewhere.

And Thanks! That was fast!

I was just recently wondering when I was due to renew and saw I was more than a month away from having to do so.

My question is if I were to renew now would it start anew now or would it continue after my previous time ran out? To make things even more difficult, I was planning on upping to the Benefactor membership. Or should I just wait a month until my previous membership expires?

If you renew a current membership, it tacks the additional year onto your already existing subscription, extending the time. However, if you plan to upgrade (thank you!) you should wait till the current subscription expires, as there will then be an overlap of the time period.

Is there any way to get a ballpark idea of how long to tell people the registration takes.? I have handed out flyers for almost 24 hrs now and customers keep calling me asking how long it will be. No bigge :) Just want to say, 1hr, 1 day, 1 week :)

Can I PLEASE get my user name changed also? I have requested it in the past but I think everyone was too busy to do it :) "ReptileAddictions" would be more appropriate :) Thanks

I try to audit new registrations a couple of times per day, depending on my availability. Thanks for handing out flyers..

Sorry, but name changes are only available to paid members. FYI, participation within the GGC program also has this paid membership requirement.

I did paypal for a paid membership today............I have been waiting for my coins to show on my profile. I did not however use my credit card, but I did insert my email address. Is that why it hasnt showed. Should I PM you the credit card name?

Your Welcome

It was for your benifit as well as my own. I have done alot of business over the years, and like they say it is usually only the Bad that winds up here. I have never actively sought out good feedback. So I am trying to get people to post a review on here of me, my store, my animals, whatever. Good hopefully, but Ill take the bad too.:( I can handle a little constructive critisizem. I guess you can't get something you dont ask for, so now I am asking :)

And..........if it benifits the site great! Maybe some will become paid members. That benefits us all in the end.

Thank you.

Your requested name change has been done.

As for the GGC application, that may take longer. I've got a few stacked up, but honestly, I just don't ever seem to get to that spot on the priority list lately...
