In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'd love to see a photography forum here, really. I see so many stunning photos that other keepers/breeders post, and as an "experienced novice" photographer, I'd really love to have a place to chat with other folks about some of the ins and outs of photographing reptiles.

Live animal photography, especially, is sort of its own type of creature compared to landscapes or human portraits, etc. Certainly a different skill set when you're trying to photograph a gecko that wants nothing more than to jump on your lens, and there are so many folks here who manage to get just amazing shots with their animals, I think a forum to "talk shop" would be wonderful.

As is usual in the case of requests for new forums, I like to see a show of hands from people interested in such an addition here. I really don't like to set up new forums and then have them turn into a ghost town after an initial flurry of posting, wasting screen real estate.

So if enough people are interested, then yes, I'll set one up.

You are pretty high on the list of "brains I'd love to pick about shooting snakes", btw. Your shots are *gorgeous*

Thanks I'm always willing to help or make suggestions.

I'm fairly certain we HAD a photography forum....it died of disuse, and was removed during housecleaning.
That pointed out, I'd be interested - I'm strictly a novice when it comes to photography...even if I do manage to pull off some decent shots once in a while.

As a photographer and student majoring in photography I would love to see a photography forum. I would certainly participate if one popped up.

I love photography. Think it would be awesome to have a forum for it. Everyone could have their own picture threads and just add to them over time or what not.

OK, as requested I have set up a forum for this topic matter.

http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1058

But here's the string attached. If that forum goes unused without any posts for a month, then it goes away and all the treads will be moved to the General BS forum. I don't mind setting up forums that people desire to have available, but I really don't want to waste screen real estate on forums that just are not pulling their weight here.

Not trying to be hard assed about this, just expressing some reality for those who may not realize the nature of running a site like this. I'm trying to walk a thin line between the positive of giving everyone what they want, and the negative of making this site so over bloated that it becomes a pain in the butt for everyone to actually use it.

That's totally reasonable. Thank you so much!

(Psst! I'd love to hear about everyone's background in photography, their "story", how they got involved, what they do, etc... over here...
