In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

These guys talked to me and made me feel as secure as possible. Shipment went out as planned and arrived on time. Except, my baby colombian boa was sealed in a box without any air and it was dead. I felt sooo bad for this snake. It was absolutley un belivable. Then, Mike Setter, has the nerve to email me and say that the snakes have plenty of air.

In general, reptiles do process much less air than a comparably-sized mammal. I'd be surprised if suffocation was the actual cause of death here.

Jim, Some facts are needed here. E-mail with what his intentions are on the death of the Boa. Is he going to make it right or did he say piss off. it's your problem ? I hope he is planning on making it right.

The snake was already stiff as a board when i got it. Anyways, i've been trying to talk to him and he only answered once and told me that the snake should of came alive and there is nothing he can do. But, i called fed-ex, and the lady said that they were not aloud to ship live animals. So the box was completely sealed and flown up to my house during the heat wave, i think that the snake died because of the heat of the interior of the box.

Ok Jim, I'm a little confused, The snake was stiff as a board ? How long was it in transit ? What state did it come from? If this was shipped over night That snake was dead before it hit the Box JMHO.

.

This is why i have 3 things in mind, 1.) The snake was shipped to me dead. 2.) The snake died from lack of oxygen. 3.) The snake died from heat.

I't came from florida, it got shipped out Monday morning and arrived tuesday afternoon.

.

They're at my g/f's house but. the snake was rolled up similar to a ball python tucking it's head and it was stiff.

The box was a standard fed.ex box sealed with tape all around the edges and the snake was inside of a tied sock.

Monday Morning ?? are you telling me that the snake sat in that box all day long on some loading dock in Fla ?? was there a cold pack in the box ?? If not then, For the love of God that poor Boa literally fried in its own juices.

Nothing was inside of the box except a sock and a bunck of pieces of crumbled up newspaper.
:hot: WTF ??? :hot: Jim, If I was you I would send him an E-mail with this link I would love to hear his side of this :hot: What in the pits of Hade's are people thinking shipping this way :hot: Just to make a Mother :censored: Dollar.

Okay Jim, I believe I addressed the shipping issue in another thread, however, you should read this thread

http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33533 shipping live reptiles is completely legal.

Also, did you read the rules before posting on the BOI?? If you want to warn the readers of this forum about a bad transaction...we need facts.

1. Do you have email exchanges between you and the seller?
2. How did you pay for the snake?
3. Have you notified the seller of this thread?

I need to learn to type faster :)

I remember looking at the sunshinestate website a while back and thinking how much it looked like a raysreptilia clone with the particular animals that were being sold. I'm most likely way off base..but you almost have to be skeptical of anyone from florida without well known name. What was the name of whoever you dealt with?

Dan, Kudos I just got back from the site and thought the same thing  You beat me to the post.

When I recieved my corn snake and leopard gecko back in, I think, March from raysreptilia, they were shipped fed ex with no "live animal" posts on the box and both tied in separate SOCKS, with newspaper for padding. (the sock thing struck me funny, I don't know, do alot of people buy brand new socks to ship in?) No heat pads and both were soooo cold but they survived the trip luckily.. My point being-- the packaging sounds the same......

"I belive he said Mike Setter."
D'oh! Yeah NOW I see it.
Man I'm starting to wish I had made more of an issue of my suspicions back when I first saw the site several months ago..my BS(ray) detector was going crazy.

Let's make sure that we get the name right here. Is it sunshinestate or Suncoastreptiles.com??

Also, as info to any newbies reading this: Either way it is NOT the same as Suncoast Herpetological, who is a great seller......

It's looking like Sunshine State and Suncoastreptiles may be more or less one and the same. A few months ago HHmoore put up an inquiry on sunshine state reptiles based on my noticing several pictures that I KNOW were Ray's. No one from sunshine state ever came forward to address that thread..
