Buffet's Worst nightmare
So my new patternless rock and I have been doing very well together and he is settling in nicely, and havent had any issues with him until yesterday. I had fed him late on saturday night/sunday morning and then went to bed. He is in my bedroom with me and cant see when I am in my bed, unless he tries since my bed is on the floor and his cage is up on the dresser. Well I got up late and kind of got up quick and startled him a bit. He actually fired a quick defensive strike into the side of the vision. He hit himself so hard that he somehow has some of his bottom teeth stuck in his own bottom jaw. He can still open his mouth and function normally, but the teeth dont want to come dislodged. I grabbed him last night and tried to fix the problem but he had my arm wrapped so tight it was difficult to maintain my grip and to work in his mouth with my one free hand. Is this something that will work it self out, or should I take him to my friends tonight and have him help me get it undone?? Someone said to me "well if they were in the wild I am sure it would correct itself", but how many snakes in the wild are striking at glass lol??? Probably not too many. I just dont want him to get an infection or anything. I will clean his mouth out once the problem is solved one way or another, just looking for some input. I would say I would take him to the vet, but the last time I was at the vet lol they asked me if I would be willing to come in and probe snakes and help them with stuff from time to time and thats scares me a little....they went to school for this stuff not me(I was taking my dog by the way not one of the snakes)! Anyways just looking for any ideas as it is really stuck, I tried for 15 minutes last night and couldnt get it undone. He was pretty behaved all things considered, no hissing, no musking or any of that crap just "killed" my hand the entire time trying to free himself to make me pay dearly hahaha. Thanks, Dan M.
