    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. A couple of weeks ago this guy had the exact same snakes up for sale on Craigslist for San Diego for way cheaper than he has them for on here. I was set to get the clown female for 900 originally. After the deal was made and a time and place were set up he texts me at nearly 10:00 pm to inform me that someone has offered him 1000 and if I will do 950.00 then he promises that she is mine no matter what they offer. I agree to it since it is still an amazing deal. I had to work a 24 hr shift the next day so the pick up was set for the following day. He knew that I was a Marine and everything was all set up. Then the night before I was supposed to pick her up, while I was at work he sends me another text yet again at 10:00 pm saying he's sorry but his good friend just offered him 2000 for her and he's gonna take it. He also said that he is aware that he is going back on his word but that he was gonna do it anyways. This guy screwed me out of a snake that would have jumped my breeding projects years into the future over what he claimed was because his good friend wanted her and offered more money. Every single snake he has in his ad was way cheaper on his craigslist ad, I can only imagine that if he still has all of these snakes, he must have done the same to others.
 
It's sad that you have to. I have no problem taking the word of a United States Marine! Sorry for your luck.

The pastel/butter is a male. He is my newest addition. He has a great clean pattern and I planned and breeding the clown or bumblebee with him to make my favorite looking morphs. He's eating small rats or large mice. He is 500 and I pretty firm cause I paid 650. Butter pastel clowns are wicked and cost a lot so you could make bank if you bred the too. I'd be jealous of you. No worries if you only want the clown.

I did inform him that she was already taken but he enlightened me with what she could go for as a female and her current weight. He offered me the 2000 and said I'd be a fool for selling her less. Because he is my close buddy and I am looking to buy a house for my family any extra helps so it all comes down to my family inching closer to have a home to live in. Then my friend enlightened me and said she was worth 2000 and 2500-3000 at 1550 grams. I haven't been doing this for very long so truthfully you would of benefited on my ignorance. It's a shame I exposed myself to an unfortunate situation like this. I don't enjoy messing with good people's feeling but I marked her too low due to ignorance. There was no transaction that took place, therefore no one was burned. I've adjusted my prices to reasonable market price after doing some research. The clown is sold. I am a small time collector stepping out of the hobby. All other pythons are for sale local only and I expect any "REAL" tangible transactions to go smoothly once cash is in hand. There is no doubt that things were strange but we all know who has been doing this for awhile that deals fall through and you just go on, not make a BOI to feel better. When you made the deal and agreed on a price you should have paypaled the money. If he then backed out of selling you might have a boi worthy story. You lost nothing more than a little time. I can't tell you how many times people tell me they are buying one of my animals and the money never shows. I don't run to the boi crying foul. I just repost and move on. Everyone is to sensitive and gets their feelings hurt way to easy. Then feel the need to tell everyone so it validates their thoughts. My suggestion is save some more money and start shopping again and buy from another breeder.

This post wasn't over hurt feelings or the last word, it was simply a "hey I had a bad experience with this guy look out" post. I know anytime you call someone a bad guy you had better have something to back it up with, that's why I included all the texts exactly as they were, minus the curse words. Well, what's done is done. Threads aren't removed for any reason other than certain rule violations, so this one's here to stay. I can agree that it would definitely feel like a fairly scummy thing for someone to pull, but it's not really worthy of a Bad Guy thread. As has been pointed out, no money changed hands, so it wasn't a done deal. Other than some time, you don't seem to have incurred any losses. If there was a new BOI thread posted every time someone backed out of a verbal agreement, we'd see little else on this forum. It's crummy, but it's a part of this type of online sales.

No, we will not remove threads like this. I will however give you my personal opinion.

The worthiness of a thread will determined by each individual reader. Some will say no transaction, no merit. Others, like to have this type of information on-hand.

I can only tell you how I would have responded. I wouldn't have appreciated being jerked around. If I knew the guy was auctioning to the highest bidder instead of advertising a animal for the price listed, I wouldn't of wasted my time. I think he described himself well in his text.

I would made a note not to do business with someone who didn't honor his agreements.

Personally, I wouldn't have started a thread. There are many window shoppers, those who state they are sending funds and never show. Deals that are happening and all contact ends. There are just too many flakes. I just write them off.

However , if someone did the same to me and someone started a inquiry thread about the individual, I surly wouldn't hesitate to type my experience.

Might save them a headache.

So who knows? You might just save someone a headache here.

Also, it is quite possible (not saying this individual) starting a thread can bring a habitual problem seller or buyer to light with multiple people coming forward with their experiences.

To begin with I agree that it was crappy of him to back out of the deal, but it has nothing to do with you being in the military. I respect those that serve in the military as long as they don't act like they deserve special treatment because of it. You joined the Marines by choice, and choices come with consequences and/or rewards. A lot of people plan on making a lot of money breeding snakes but it very seldom works out that way. Good luck.
