    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I'm sorry, but you were a complete @sshole to David. He voiced his concerns to you, and you blew him off.

Me and my boyfriend are starting off breeders in a world full of them, and only the best will surface. You may have great snakes but if your bedside manner isn't perfect your going to get pushed to the side. We should all be a community here. It's bad enough the herp industry gets looked down on enough, we don't need @ssholes like you f*cking it up.

Either be in the business for the love of the animals, or get out. We don't want you here otherwise.

I have a little black book of names of people i shouldn't buy from, and you my friend have been added. For the following reasons:

1) Infestation of mites. If you claim to have good quality animals, then this mite infestation wouldn't have arised. You can't get mites from the inside of a bag, unless that was previously infested, and then you have a whole round more of problems.

2) No water in the water dish of the snake, and he can't fit in it. I'm sorry, but if i remember correctly all living things can not live without water. But i might be mistaking.

3) Shipping to David without him having the proper permit. You knew that shipping to David he needed a permit, because obviously if you could attack him for making a mere comment, you knew. So why didn't you ask for a copy of David's permit and refuse to ship until you seen it? 20 years in the business and i believe you should know the ropes, right? It seems i know them better than you!

4) Your poor attitude. Once again, we should be out here to help each other out and help this industry grow and be successful. So if your going to be a jerk off about it, then leave. We don't want your business, your animals, nor your friendship.

May i say you are by far one of the most taciturn and astute business people to ever engage in commerce. NOT........! As sure as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west i can count on you and your ilk to provide with me with endless hours of amusing and titillating prose. I also have to give you big props for doing the reptile industry a service. By coming on the BOI and slitting your throat publicly, you have more than likely turned off some first time buyers who might have thought about buying a reptile on-line. You wont have much affect on the experienced people who genuinely love reptiles and who aren't in it as a fad. See when people like you (who's soul is evidently as black as hell) get into reptiles its only a matter of time before you find yourself in the position you are in now. Demonstrating to all how untrustworthy you really are in a public setting. And the fact you dont give a rats poop about the health and welfare of your charges. Now that ive ranted let me tell you how i would have handled it. First I would have shat my pants in embarassment that a customer was informing me that an animal i sent to him had mites. Then i would offer my humblest apologies and tell the customer that short of gratuitis fellatio, i would do whatever it takes to make it right. On top of that i would do something extra next time the customer placed an order. Kinda like the prize you get in a JACK IN THE BOX. Never know what it is till ya open it up. You know, like throw in a few extra YELLOW BELLY'S or PLATTY'S. Wow did i say that......publicaly........! So there ya go people better start buying all the stuff i have for sale. You might just get lucky....lol.......lol. All in all Mark i think your people skills are better suited for work in the...............PRISON industry. I hear ABU GRA(sic) prison needs of few good men like you. Just send this thread to them and im sure your employment is guaranteed. You see,

the problem is Mark knows a little secret, and that is that aside from the BOI, theirs not much you or I can do about it. Even with all the bad publicity, their will be other buyers and Mark will continue to be in business because this is the business of selling herps. Individuals who seem to be be exempt from doing the right thing, are accountable to no one, and can change their business name in 24 hours, have a new email address in minutes and start again.

I am sure Mark is saying "whats the big deal, so the snake has mites" beyond that the buyer got what he paid for! The animal in question can be cleaned, and life will go on.

The only thing people can do to strengthen their resolve about people like Mark would be to follow him wherever he advertises and let people know about this post. Maybe it will do some good, maybe it will not, but its certainly worth trying!
 
I think it's more the way he handled it then it is the mites, and that you can't get away with just changing your name and e-mail. You are who you are, and if your a jacka$$ that will follow you all your life.


I think your right and that we can't do much but cry on here but he will be an a$$ to the wrong person someday, and it will get him. I meen come on your going to call a gov office and get them involved (which we all know how much we need that) Just cause some guy wanted to tell you you might have mites. Thats like some guy pulling up to your car and saying"your cars on fire" and you calling the cops cause his tail light is out, it's just not right!!!!


I for one will not deal with Mark, and I would tell anyone who would ask about him to read this post.
 
honestly mark i would not buy from you ever not only because of the issue with the mites but the way you have treated you have treated your customer base in this thread alone...i'm not one who visits the BOI on a regular basis myself,but i was shown this thread by a friend of mine and i have to say im totally disgusted by it ...i used to be in the pet trade at one time and i've seen herps with mites come and go no biggie dont buy them if they show up after you purchase them treat them..shoot i've sent animals back just because i didnt want a infestation in my shop nad the suplier glady took the animal back no ifs and or buts....but the way you have "attacked" your customer base in this thread basicly shows you drowning in the end i'd dealt with customers so stupid that they wouldnt feed there lizard the right foods "because they didnt like them" or provide proper lighting because "it was too expensive in the end" or even the people who said "i bought this 12 foot albino burmese from so and so just to look cool so what is the minimum i have to feed it"
....basicly what i am getting at with this post is without customers you have no business they are the heart and soul or your business and thats not the way you treat them you are there to "enlighten" and "guide them"
i dont care how much of a prick or any word you decide to fill the blank with...
without them you dont have a business and i personally wont be purchasing anything off you anytime soon....

i've been shipped the wrong thing before and all the company said was "send me a copy of the invoice and i'll get it straightened out" and thats all i needed was to know they cared enough to go that extra step.......
....you need to embrace that extra step for satisfaction and you might have a chance at succeeding in your business...
that and not pissing off a couple hundred thousand potential customers by trying to down grade them

I was browsing KS classifieds and found several snakes I wanted to buy from them....Got the paypal on the screen I needed to do payment and then of course check the boi before pushing the send button of 900 bucks...lol...Man talk about a quick back up and Im outa gere move....Man I love the BOI...,

Awesome! Perhaps Mark is starting to realize the severity of his actions....the point is driven home further when potential money is taken from his pocket.
 
Since it was called into question how long Mark had this animal before he sent it to David, I can offer a bit of insight here at least. I spoke with Mark about the scrub when I first noticed in on ReptiBid, and that was probably 1.5 to 2 months ago. So he has had it for a while. At the time I was very interested in buying this scrub myself, but something held me back, probably that it was w.c. and didn't look particularly nice (slight nose swelling from rubbing, etc). I must say that after seeing this, I'm EXTREMELY glad I chose the way I did. I am a huge scrub fan, and if I had bought this animal and it arrived in the condition David says it did....well, let's just say I wouldn't have been nearly as cordial as David.

Mark, I know you're still reading this thread - you probably now realize what a horrendous mistake it was to dismiss all of the BOI participants as 'idiots.' You now have one more name, a person who very nearly did business with you in the past, to scratch off of your potential customer base. The really sucky part is that herpers tend to tell other herpers about who to avoid in this business. We all know how exponentially things like that can spread. I'm just sorry you felt the need to act the way you did, rather than taking care of your business.
 
Update....

Well, s much as I'd like to say that the Scrub has bounced back and is doing well, I cannot say that.....unfortunately, he passed away this evening due to unkown causes. I wish I could've saved him, but I think he was not very healthy when I received him (surprise, surprise). I've learned my lesson for sure......STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM MARK CARMANY!!

I don't see how anyone can call Mark a good guy after what he has done to me. I say that if you think Mark is a good guy, you're just as bad as he is.

I don't think "luck" has anything to do with it.....I think that Mark is a lowlife scummy jerkoff and thats why I had a bad experience with him. Defending him will do no good at this point, he has already shown his true colors.

Attacking someone for posting they had a good experience with someone, whether that person is a scum bag or not, only makes yourself look bad. I didn't read Mike's posts as defending Mark but just stating his experience with him. Everyone is entitled to post their experience.
