    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Not sure what you mean by "passing the buck"?

Everyone who has ever had a reptile shipped to them from us knows we DO NOT ship a reptile packed the way Mr. Habel said,
Teresa checked with supervisor about how she was packed and who packed the Burm for shipping. The supervisor said he saw the The Burm being packed and it was in a snake bag placed in a styro container with news paper around the snake to keep it from being banged around and the styro container was placed in a heavy card board box with packing peanuts all around to keep it from moving around, all boxes are marked LIVE ANIMAL on all sides & top of box. The person who packed the box said there were 3 heat packs placed inside on bottom of the styro container, this person has been packing for winter for several years for us and have never had a complaint from anyone on packing problems from Him.
If there were holes in the box when Mr. Habel received it then it had to have happened during shipping we do not put holes in our boxes. And UPS does know we ship live reptiles, we have a account with them in order to ship live reptiles and they Know the Tempature the reptile must stay at in order to not get to cold, they do work with us with this so we will ship with them in stead of Delta Dash.

I understand that you can't take a picture of the snake you have now and post it, but do you have the picture that was emailed to you by the seller?

The link that has the date for Nov 24th, deleted after 7 days, so we did a relist on Dec 4th, that states the same exact advertisement as Nov 24th's did. Except the date will now show Dec 04,02 as new posting date which can be viewed at Kingsnake.com: Home::pythons. But I do have a Paper printed copy of the link dated Nov 24, 02. How can I get this info on this forum?

so who was it that actually packed the box for you? If you have all these years experience shipping and selling herps, why do you enlist a third party to pack them for you? I pack all of my animals personally so I can ensure they are getting properly packed and handled. I don't hand them off to some guy who has a supervisor watching him pack. I find this side of your story quite fishy.

Also, your statement about the shipper not keeping the box at the right temps IS an attempt at passing the buck. Whether they know what you ship or not, they are not responsible for what temps your package is kept at because UPS does not ship snakes(though there are exceptions)and will not cover them should something happen during shipping. Also, not EVERY employee or package handler at UPS knows who you are. If the animals were packed properly in the first place with adequate heat and insulation, some exposure to less than adequate temps shouldn't be detrimental. By saying they didn't keep it at the right temps is your lame attempt to blame them.

Outside of that, I'm not too sure on the confusion for het's and labyrinths that went on. I am assuming there was some on both parts.

If what you have is a paper printed copy.. you can always scan it in and attach the .jpg file here. If you do not have access to a scanner.. I am sure there are copy places near you that offer such services.... If you want to go that far though.

Talking about shipping to cold areas.. I know many breeders that will not ship to areas like NY and such in these cold winter months.. I personally think its irressponsible to ship somewhere that cold. I live in Ohio (currently in Central Ohio.. but originally from North East Ohio.. which has very similar temps to NY). I would never in my right mind as for a herp to shipped during this time of the year. Currently it is 20 degrees outside. The cargo hold of planes are much much colder during transit. I do not believe even the best packing and insulating job can sufficiently keep herps as warm as they need to be. ***BUT*** herps have a great protection against cold.. they can slow their bodies down.. to the point where at first glace you think they are dead. This is where I think the original packing problem had started. In a store I used to manage.. we had many herps shipped in the winter.. in which I have seen it take an hour or more for a snake to 'come back to life'.

I can e-mail you the same picture we e-mailed Mr.Habel before he purchased the burm.
This matter could have been resolved in a professional manner, all Mr. Habel had to do is call us like he said he would, even if he could not reach us by e-mail. Teresa was out of town Dec 3rd and didn't get in until late Dec 4th. The burm was shipped out Dec 2nd, and from what Mr. Habel has said on this forum" received it on time" which would mean he received the burm on Dec 3rd by no latter than noon. So why did he wait until Dec 4th to complain in the frist place, which is when he frist posted a complaint of any kind. I Mike Keene was checking my e-mail and found a e-mail my a lady letting us know someone was dissatisfied I didn't even know who was complaining until I looked at this forum. If Mr. Habel called like he says he did he could have left a message on machine for there was no one home until Dec 4th, there were a few messages which picked up my self and not one was from Mr.Habel.

Ms Terese, if you would like pictures of the burms e-mail me with your e-mail address and I will send you the pictures.

Frist of all, What is so "FISHY" about having hired help to do packing or any other aspect of business?
and Second UPS does allow shipping of "snakes"!!!
If you open the proper account with them you can ship Retiles as long as they are "Non-venomous". And you are covered up to $1,000 dollars for damage or lost, unless you request for higher coverage which cost extra.

If the burm had been packed the way Mr. Habel is saying it was it would have been "Dead on Arrival" and he is saying it was ALIVE!!
So you tell me if you think it was shipped right!

I am not trying to place blame on anyone!! I just don't believe Mr. Habel. In all our years of business we have never shipped out a Reptile the way he is saying I know for a fact.

On the other hand Mr. Habel is the liar, When he frist posted the forum, he was upset set that the Burm was not a Labyrinth burm Het for albino. The ad at kingsnake clearly states 02' Burms -Het for labyrinth and Het for albino, he new he was wrong! And is trying to make it out that we are to blame for something that never happened. He also still has not call us to speak to us directly about this. Why is that? because he knows he is lieing.

He may do business with people this way, frist slamming them in a forum before actually contacting the person he should be dealing with to begin with. But everyone who has ever dealt with us knows we don't do business this way!!!

We would have been happy do resolve this matter and refund his money if he had contacted us in a professional manner. But after all that he has said about us on this forum. He can just find someone else to buy the snake from him if he is so unhappy!!!

U never emailed me a picture, and I wrote u an email as soon as i got the snake. I put this thread on the BOI cause i needed your phone # as well, which U never gave me.

U in my opinion are one of the biggest liars in the business. I have the snake now and I will now keep it cause I wouldnt want to put the snake through this weather again, even though i would ship it correctly.

Im not in this hobby for the money like you are, Im in it for the love of the animals. I would never put an animal through the torture that you put this snake through.

First off, I said the snake was BARELY alive, and i was upset that it wasnt a labrynth like I ORDERED. But the honest man that I am, I also stated that there could have been a mistake on either end.

But what im pissed about is how u packed the snake, The person that packed your reptiles should be fired. Unless he FORGOT to put the heat packs in.

I have never even spoke to you before, I did everything with your wife, so please show the emails where I said I wanted a HET

Agreed Scott. That does cast suspicion on Mike Habel's claims. Most, if not all e-mail programs give you the option to save e-mails to a specific folder if you wish.

And to Mike Keene, yes I DO find it odd that you allow a thrid party to package and ship your animals for you without your supervision. I can understand this if you are a large-scale retail or wholesale outlet(or if you breed THAT many animals you need to hire a staff) where you have someone to specifically handle that, but I'm not under the impression that is what you guys are. And yes, animals packed improperly can still arrive alive, though usually in poor condition(if not dead). He is claiming the burm arrived in really rough shape, but still alive. Just because it was packed poorly means it would 100% be DOA.

Also, you keep saying that MH should have called Terese on the 3rd when he received the snake. If noone was home in the first place and calls would not be returned until the 4th, how much better would that phone call have been over an e-mail? I probably would have called, myself, but he chose e-mail. If someone was checking messages, were they going to make the calls for her, or just pass them along when she got back on the 4th? Either way, from what is being said it appears that he did notify you within a reasonable amount of time of the problem.

Actually, if MH doesn't have the e-mails back and forth, then at least you should have them MK and maybe you could post them and we could all see where the confusion lies?

Like I said, best of luck and hopefully you guys can get this resolved if there is anything to resolve.

If you don't care about others knowing and understanding what happened... then.. why post here? If you only care about what happened between you and the seller.. then.. why didn't you just keep it at that?
