    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Terry Lilley - Tried selling me my own animal

Hey guys and gals

I do not think he actually stated that he imported the Womas FROM Australia, so maybe someone in Germany or something had them and he imported them from there, anyways, just a thought, not by ANY stretch of the imagination on his side.

Even though it has been a few years, I do remember some braggadacio in reguards to bringing them in from Australia. I don't recall any mention of Germany. I will admit the possibility though. I just don't, in all honesty, think so.

I am not sure when they put pythons on cites, but if it was before 1988, then there is no way germany would have legal cites for australian animals? This is why we can not send nor receive german puthons and monitors outside the country.
 
Like I said......

Knowing of Mr. Lilly as long as I have, and as I stated before, he has been busted a couple times for smuggling. I can still recall the laughs we got when he got busted for smuggling Aussie herps. It was long ago, but us old guys still remember. Once you have met Terry, I promise, you won't forget him.

I as well as probably most of you would really like to hear Mr. Lilly's excuse or story on this new information. How did you import the Woma's? There is no way to hide now. You have brought this into the public view and have opened yourself up to what ever happens. I am almost positive that USFW DMA will know of this sooner or later.

You raise a good point. That's why I simply asked Mr. Lilley where these animals originated. He has not yet answered. I suspect that this is due to one of two reasons:

a) He does not now, nor has he ever, actually have/had the animals in question;

or

b) He realizes that he is caught, saying something that he would not like the authorities to know of him.

Of course, my suspicions could be wrong. If so, he will come and tell us what we have been asking.



Where did they originate, Mr. Lilley?

I would just like to thank those of you posting here and those of you who have contacted me directly for understanding the situation. I took a bunch of heavy attacks early on by people who misunderstood my comments intention, in regards to Terry Lilley. I want those of you here on this thread to know that I am appreciative for your acknowledgements of both this guys character and credibility or lack there of. That was all that I ever wanted to get out there from the go. Evan Stahl
 
I heard of Lilley`s reputation back in the early 80`s. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!!! And i took the warning to heart. I had heard of the scams he had pulled on others, so i knew to never do business with this guy. Later on, (87 or 88) my partner (good friend) went to the Solomon Islands and began to work with the government on setting up reptile breeding programs. No reptiles had come out of the Solomons in quite some time. (at the time) My partner had an exclusive to legally import reptiles from there. He asked me to sell the animals for him when they came in, and i told him i would do it. But my friend needed money asap after the animals came in, and i didn`t give him any guarantees on a time limit. This is where Lilley comes in. Lilley found out about this through a third party and told my partner he would have a large % of the cash once the animals had landed. Against my warnings, my partner signed a contract with him. Once the animals landed they were held by F&W because they wanted to verify all the permits. When the animals were to be released my friend went to Lilley to get the money. Guess what????????? HE DIDN`T HAVE IT. I told my friend to get out while you can or he`ll screw you for 30k (or more. i don`t remember exactly). Thank God he agreed and told Lilley he was out. (in breech of contract) So my partner and i went and got the animals from the L.A. Zoo. The next week i found out that Lilley was FAXing (before email) out a form letter stating my partner and i were illegally selling animals that BELONGED TO HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This guy is a piece of work. Unfortunately he sent the letters to some of my friends and they let me know right away. I could`ve cared less because i knew his reputation couldn`t hold water, but my partner called his attorney and got Lilley to shut his mouth or be slammed with a "defamation of character" suit.
I figured Lilley would be out of business soon with all i had heard and seen. But a few years later i bought a REPTILES magazine that had a leter to the editor in it regarding Lilley. It seems he had screwed some guy out of thousands of dollars on a rare monitor lizard deal. It AMAZES me that this guy is still in business. I hope the BOI makes ALOT of people aware of who this guy is. And to answer a question that was asked in an earlier post: No, there aren`t 2 Terry Lilleys that have been ripping off herpers for 20 years. It`s the same guy.

Another question, does anyone really think he will respond now considering his last FOOT IN MOUTH effort?
 
Personally I'm waiting for him to come back and tell us that there are actually TWO well-known Kerry King's in the herp business, and that he sold the monitors to the OTHER one.

Terry Liley is a local here in my area and I have met him once long ago. I have not been impressed with the reports I have heard off this board regarding his business practices. It's really a shame he treats people this way.

I was reading this months REPTILE magazine and started reading the classifieds in the back. Under business opportunities it looks like Terry is SELLING his business for 275,000. Training included. Hopefully he'll leave the "burning people 101" out of his training.

Just thought it was worth putting in......

Everyone can make there decisions on him as there is page after page. Can you not let this thread die and if someone wants to look him up they can do a search and find it? You would think the first 2 pages would be sufficient to do so.. Or at least the powers that be should consider closing it so all those waiting to pile on don't get the chance to state opinions and not facts from personal experience. As for the gov. powers be realistic they aren't going to do anything so i seriously doubt he is going to lose sleep over the thought that they will waste time on it (likely more pressing issues to deal with).
Hopefully "The End"...

Where exactly do you get off telling everyone else how long we can address a certain person/company/issue? Who was it exactly that made you the determining factor as to how long a thread can be?

You have an opinion? Fine. You have stated it multiple times, which is quite impressive, given that you have only posted a grand total of six times in all!

Here's an idea, why don't YOU let it rest! Terry Lilley has been a problem in this industry for DECADES, and it is quite right for someone to post in this thread about him, that he is selling his business (or wanting to do so). My comment about that fact was pertinent to this thread in that I believe that anyone who is associated with Mr. Lilley necessarily accepts some of the stain that he has been spreading around for years.

You don't agree? You think threads ought to go two pages and no more? How about this: You read the first two pages (only the first two, now), and then leave the rest of the discussion to those who wish to delve deeper. We were doing just fine on the BOI before you came along to tell us when to quit posting, and I feel fairly confident we'll make it a while yet without your input. Thanks anyway.
 
Easy Darin, easy. I agree with you though. It gets on my nerves for someone to think they can tell everyone else to stop posting. Unless it comes from Rich Z, just try to ignore it. I think the more information we have about the bad guys the better off we are. :)

Has he made a comment after his "foot in mouth" efforts of recent?
 
I too believe that people should know if Lilley is trying to sell his business. The more this is up the more people will see it and hopefully, realize just what kind of business they are buying into. This is what the BOI is all about, informing people.
Joel, I am a person who likes to keep it relatively peaceful, (yeah I see you all nodding out there:) ) but if I was looking into a business, especially one that is that much money, I would want to find out all I know on the business and what type of person I am potentially buying from.
This is very important information, $275,000 worth of important!
Of course this is just my opinion.
 
2 pages is enough?

Page three (3)is where we find out that one of the people he mentiones by name as having bought from him (Kerry King)...NEVER really bought from him.

Page three(3) is where we find out that he helped defend a smuggler in court.

Page four (4) is where I find out that one of the animals he "imported".....was not really "imported" because it was against the law.

Sorry but I do not think two pages is enough.
