In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Browsing the KS classifieds as usual, and came across a picture of one of my babies from last year being used in a classified ad by Mr. Maheuron.

He does not have my permission, nor did he ask to use this photograph. The animal pictured was not sold to him either, is female rather than male as he is selling, and it certainly is not 66% het albino.

I've sent an email asking him to pull my photo. I wavered over the bad guy vs. info header, and decided on a bad guy heading because stealing is stealing. It doesn't matter where he got the picture, it was never his to use, and nowhere in the ad does he state the animal pictured is not one of the ones for sale.

Ad:

(screenshots attached for when/if it is pulled)

The animal whose picture was used is the first one out from this thread here:

(original stolen picture attached as well)

OMG that must have been a shock seeing the photo!
You can file a DMCA complaint at KS. Maybe Terry of this thread, just so he knows his misdeed is being publicized and possibly alert others to look through his ads for their photos.
Gorgeous snake.

Yes, he was sent a link. I'll check into the KS thing.

And thank you. She found a home pretty quickly.

It would have been one thing if he had your permission, however, given the situation, I would definitely agree. Bad Juju. Is it really that hard to just take a pic of the animals for sale? Oh, but of course, some people have to reap the benefits of others that have produced more beautiful animals. Maybe he was jealous of yours, Shadera?

The guy does evidently sell animals, and does have a good rep here, up until this thread, so the previous post saying he doesn't have animals is invalid.

That sucks that anyone would do that. I bought from terry before and everything went well and the animal I got was the one advertised. Hopefully he will answer here. Nice find

Hello Everone ,the post I did with clown picture was just a big mistake on my part .I used the photo out of my file thinking it was mine.In no way was I trying to decieve anyone .I have been on KS since 2003 and have never had any bad rap of any kind .I go out of my way to please everyone . I told Shadera I was very sorry and that I deleted all photo files .I hope everone understands that this was just an error on my part and I am sorry it happened
thank you

Terry Maheuron is a Good Guy !!!

It is easy to see how Terry could have mistook that picture for his own when posting his ad, probably looking at thumbnails.

The background in Shaderas photo is the same background that he used in his own photo.

It should be taken as a compliment that Terry thought so highly of your animal/photo last season that he saved it on his computer, and then when photographing his own Clowns this season, it appears that he went for that same look.

Too bad Terry was not given the chance to reply to your email and explain what had happened before he was called a Bad Guy and a Photo Thief.

He really is a great guy, and an asset to this hobby.

I just want to make sure I understand.

As long as friends of the guilty think the theft was flattering to the person who took and used the picture for their own gain, it's all good.

Sellers are now absolved from any responsibility to post pictures of the actual animals for sale, and to make sure they get the right picture.

Gotcha.

Because our two photos are so alike it's easy to mistake them.

Right.

I've been selling on kingsnake for several years now, and have never "accidentally" used someone else's picture to represent my animals.

Should read:
"As long as friends of the guilty think the theft was flattering to the person whose picture was taken and used by the guilty for their own gain, it's all good."

Not at all.

I would not exactly say that Terry and I are friends, but he has gone out of his way to help me as an unknown fellow enthusiast twice in the past.

I also would not refer to Terry as "the guilty, as the only thing he is guilty of is accidentally attaching the wrong picture, and probably thumbnail to his classified ad.

It does suck to see a guy that you know to be a "Good Guy" get a thread like this started about him, for what appears to clearly be an honest mistake.

It would have been nice if he had been given the opportunity to respond to your email and explain the situation to you, before this thread was started.
However, it does not seem like his explanation would have been good enough for you anyway.

In my opinion the thread is the unwarranted tarnishing of a true "Good Guy' in the hobby, but in the interest of maybe getting a few "green dots" I will say well done.

This looks like a genuine apology. By the looks of both pictures, I can see how one can mistake 'em especially as a thumbnail. Even the snakes look similiar.

If he had a history of this type of thing than I would unload on him, but it doesn't appear he has a history of this type so at this point it seems an honest mistake I'm sure he won't make again. I don't think I would tag him a "bad guy" at this point.

This seems like an honest mistake, especially if he was uploading photos based on thumbnails- they are relatively similar.

I have done business with Terry, he was honest and supplied good animals in our trade.

This seems like a misunderstanding.

How long did you give Terry to respond before you posted this thread?

Looks like simple mistake that could have been resolved without a bad guy post.

I do not think this warrented a bad guy thread, mistakes happen. I have Photobucket, and all the photos I have on that account are my photos, and my snakes. I have never received a photo from someone and saved it, so do not really see how "easy" it would be to attatch the wrong picture to an ad, but, do not think Terry is a bad guy.
