In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info TexHiss Jimmy Horton - Poor Animal Condition, Bad Shipping Practices

I doubt they will find anything more than we already know...the poor animal was starved, dehydrated and had possibly had a bad regurgiation
THIS ANIMAL SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN SOLD OR SHIPPED TO ANYBODY!
The seller should be absolutely ashamed of himself and the disrepute he has brought to this hobby!

Yep, 35 grams. This is the image I took of him prior to my attempt at feeding him on 10/4, which he refused.

Everyone else already voiced my opinion from the start, re: starved and dehydrated, not diseased.

After seeing that photo above ... only 35 grams, born the first week of May and now dead?

Initially, I though the OP could have maybe brought that baby to a healthy state with time and patience and delicate care. I'm sorry that didn't happen, but it is absolutely not due to the OP's husbandry or care.

It's due to the seller's negligence and lack of proper care.

Freaking disgraceful, Jimmy Horton. There is no defense for the neglect to that particular animal or any of the other animals in your care you might want to pass off to innocent customers before those other neglected animals dle.

You owe your customer a full refund and as equally important, you need to meet the needs of those animals in your care. It's obvious from the first posts Mikasa made that you did not meet that animal's needs.

No one cares about your history ... history here in this industry/hobby has seen plenty of good ole' guys go down in red hot flames.

It ain't just history; it's good business history, honest business history, ethical, humane and responsible business history that speaks the loudest.

If you're going by the iHerp profile, I just listed the first of May since the ad didn't specifically say what day in May they were born, just that they were born in May... but give or take a few weeks, doesn't matter, it all equals up to the same thing... I'm just explaining the May thing.

It's really depressing, what all had happened here. :( ... I worry for all the other scalies in his care...

I should have read all the replies before replying I see it was said multiple times now, but I do agree with the other person, if I walk out in my dining room right now and snap a picture of my rat racks (yes they're in the dining room we don't use it or the livingroom where the snakes are lol) you will see food on every mesh top that has a rat/s in the tub and some aspen on the floor from them digging around. That room is far too clean and no food on the mesh to have rats in there.
Quite the speculation. Just because his rodent room is neater than yours means he's doing something wrong? Maybe you're not doing something right.

Funny you picked me out of the one or two others who said the same thing, neater than mine I'm doing something wrong? I see no food on those racks. And the aspen that ends up on the floor I sweep it up, you know why it's there? Because I actually have rats that are in there and move their bedding around to their liking. But of course you wanted to single me out and try to make it seem like I'm doing something wrong with my rats, maybe you agree with him starving this boa too?

wth?
speculation on the fact that he supplied a starved and dehydated that unfortunately proved to be knocking on deaths door
I think not!
thats what this is about not a darn picture of a rodent room that looks like it has not been used in a long time!

Honestly this has nothing to do with the issue here. The rodent room has nothing to do with it either. Regardless of whether or not the seller has rats, the snake in question was suffering from malnutrition and dehydration before it perished.

Are you defending the seller or just trying to start pointless drama?

John Smith, How can you even come close to saying this was a Ok packing job?? Wow really.............. This is not how you pack any animal on any day of the week, Does not matter weather warm or cold, and if you not going to pack it right ....... Bottom Line don't ship!! Just My 2cents, but since I used to deal alot with Boa's, You can do alot better packing job, this was just a cheap way out.... Good luck and hope it pulls though

The final results ARE IN early. Their final conclusion to cause of death is 'Colonic Impaction' and 'Hepatic Lipidosis'. I will also note they found numerous amounts of salmonella bacteria, but did not attribute this to the cause of death, as it can be normal microflora to serpents. They also noted mite eggs in the fecal sample. I'll attach the full report below.

Final page, just my extra note about him spiralling into the water dosh while I was driving him to the vet, and ensuring they knew why to check for inclusions, as I'd ran out of space.

So was there a final conclusion? Death by starvation or was the impaction their cause of death?

As far as I know Fatty Liver Disease can aid in starvation and an anerexic state of condition. When an animal is being starved or malnurished, the body will send the fat reserves to the liver(which the report says there was ZERO left, so he exhausted his last life line). The liver also aids in digestion, which could have led to the impaction, as his liver was compromised. It's still entirely possible that Mr. Horton's careless, neglectful feeding regime caused this slew of problems. If he had tried to feex his babies as theu SHOULD of been fed, this may not of even happened at all, or he would of noticed a change in the snake's appetite, bowel movements, activity, etc... but he seems to think skin and bones is healthy, and feeding a baby once a month is fine. It's also concerning his collection may have mites.

A If he had tried to feex his babies as theu SHOULD of been fed, this may not of even happened at all

I agree

I don't over feed my animals, I feed ever two weeks that's more than enough food, the animal in question is 100% healthy and after a few meals and a shed or two will lose the loose skin, I have produced thousands of boas and I'm being judged by people who have never produce a single animal and have no idle, as for trying to save of food, that's crazy I have a breeding facility and I still feed twice a month. Like pure bred dogs boa morphs are a genetically jacked up and if you over feed you will kill them.

In my opinion you Jimmy Horton are a two bit no good poor excuse for a businessman and human being. Poor snake :(
