In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy The Exotic Egg

I believe if no bank account is set up, a negative balance will end up on her account and the account will be locked until that debt is collected.

I think you are SOL getting the money from Paypal until they collect that debt, but I could be wrong.

Yes, When bank account not verified, they wont front money but deny refunds.

But youd think if your main choice of getting paid is paypal, your bank is verified so you an transfer to bank or use the paypal card.

She may not know about paypal fronting the money, as adding money to paypal from bank can take a week

It's $150, and Paypal isn't ancient. If your account says you're getting the money, there's no reason to doubt it. In order to issue a refund, you have to be able to cover it using your paypal or your checking account. Paypal just won't approve of a transaction that someone can't fund. If that were true I'd have MUCH fancier things in my home ;)

You people need to get your facts straight, don't believe everything you read from a child who knows how to use a computer better then most adults (no surprise) and go back to your lives. The witch hunt is over.

people get their facts from evidence presented to them. You presented none. So you have no real place to whine about what people are feeling about you. Comments like the one above do not help when determining your maturity level either.

You dropped the ball on a very standard situation....no one has an issue with the fact you cancelled the order because you did not like your customer. Obviously that is fair and within your rights.

It is NOT within your right to steal someones money, which is what it is called when you have their money for no reason what so ever. You canceled the order, it was no longer your money. You have no right, by law and by normal human standards, to keep someones money just because it makes you happy. Even if you have told them you plan to pay them back eventually.

A business in this hobby is only as good as its worst complaint...that business owners character is determined by how that complaint is handled.
You did not handle this one well, and if you gracefully accept the situation (that you put yourself in) and act like you have learned or matured from it you might get a better response from people.

I'm so sick of sellers crying and complaining about "hard to deal customers." If you can't deal with customer service, get the heck out. There are people in this thread that KNOW about real customer pains and instead of taking helpful advice, you want to cry. Customers have changes in schedule and special receiving needs. They are most often not as vested in the hobby as some of us. If you cannot put the serve in service, deal with simple miscommunications, or unable to clearly explain your situation, hire a sales rep. Expecting a perfect customer everytime is science fiction.

Lol I'm not a child, you know that, but thanks again for the petty backhanded insult. Anyways, I just hope the money comes through, which I guess it should.

Willow and Nick you guys hit it right on the head. Simply put, customers are people that purchase an item or a service from you. A good business person will cater to their customer within reason and at times go above and beyond to get the sale. If that doesn't happen then there is no sale. Period. It's pretty cut and dry. Business Never Personal. All childish antics should be checked at the door. It looks like this is a done deal, so I suggest that both of you learn from this experience and try to avoid a repeat in the future. The BOI is a very powerful place. Good luck

Kim is that really necessary? I would hardly call this a witch hunt. After the OP posted members here still wanted you to post your side of the situation. Someone also took the time to make sure you were sent a link.

I think people here were more than willing to view the positions from both sides of this transaction.

In all honesty when you get right down to it the details before you canceled the order really aren't that important to the main complaint here.

Let's just say that half agree with you that the customer was a pain to deal with and you should of canceled the order as you did and half don't.

I don't think anyone stated even if they believed the customer was difficult that you were also right to play the same games.

" you'll get it like got it. Piece by painful piece"

Your customer isn't the one in business you are. Who should be held to a standard?

Look we all no about difficult customers. In this case it really doesn't matter if some believe he was or wasn't one. Matter of fact, I wouldn't take issue with you regardless if you simply wanted to end the transaction with the buyer. It's your prerogative.

The behavior afterwards is what people are responding to. It was simply petty and unprofessional. I don't think anybody thinks you're a thief and I think everyone understands that you haven't had any complaints in your ten years.

For whatever reason this buyer got under your skin and you reacted badly.

It's not a witch hunt to state those opinions of your actions.

You could have done everything right and this could have been the customer from hell and you still would have come out the same way by playing games with the refund. It simply is not acceptable conduct in the opinions of those responding.

However, with your short fuse here kind of lends a little bit more credence to the OP's side without seeing the whole long email exchanges you mentioned.

I've gotten a bad PayPal refund! It was pending and a few days later I get a message that there was insufficient funds. This guy didn't have enough money in his banking account to cover the refund, which was pathetic since my refund wasn't a large amount of money.

Thanks for the information, ill definitely keep watch on it and if it doesn't go through like its supposed to on the 10th I will post back here that the issue is still left unresolved and at that point i think law enforcement may be the only means of justice, which I would hate having to deal with.

To be fair, I don't think at this point there is any reason to suspect the refund isn't being issued. The main complaint here was to get the funds returned.

Instead of drawing the refund process out it appears she did finally do just that.

I see no reason to assume that isn't happening.

I have full faith that the refund will come through. However, if it does not, i will personally need to take more serious action. Hopefully there will be no problems. I would love to be done dealing with this issue.
