    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have never had any problems with you personally, in fact I chose to ignore this feud between you and Wes in the past, because frankly, I kind of liked both of you. I know nothing about your personal life, nor do I care to.

However, the one issue I would like to see you address, which you have obviously purposely chosen to misuse the "powers" that you have been given to purposely seek out and "ding" Wes for every little thing he says that could in any possible little way be seen as an "infraction". Sure, he's asked for it on more than one occasion, and I would be fine with those instances being "called out"...but it seems your judgement is just as "clouded" if not much moreso than his.
 
The increase, dand, from almost nothing to a bit more than nothing is not really something to brag about.

I DO contribute to that forum because I do like kings. I just don't see you as any kind of leader.

Spin it however you like, you're not much good for much of anything as far as I'm concerned.
 
I have the solution!

In an effort to streamline Fauna, I think we should do away with all of the sub-forums and condense the site to just one.

It seems that no matter what the forum, or the topic, it always ends up back at these petty arguments.

This was supposed to be a "fun" thread with an opportunity for everyone to show a hand of support for those individuals whom they feel deserve as much.

Instead, we are witness to jealousy, petty bickering, and quite possibly, outright hatred.

I'm now sorry that I started the thread.

Ok first off. Wes and DAND. You guys are both cool in my book. DAND I see you at shows. You are a good guy. Wes I talk to you online and I think you are a good guy. Not sure why you to are at each others throats lol. But Wes , DAND is cool bro. He has nice animals. I see him monthly at Taylor. He is laid back. DAND, Wes is cool bro. You know what is always on his mind.

But for this whole thing.

Pay to be a mod. I do not like it. I have had my share of bad mods. I have had my share of mods stabbing me in the back. I would like to think I am the most laid back forum owner there is. And I listen to the everyone I can. I see this as one of my problems though lol.

Here is something I do not think has been tried sense Rich started this site.

Just let the forums be. If they get traffic they get traffic if not then who cares. If a person wants to mod it try it out. Rich, you and I both know it is easy to make a mod that only can do certain things. Some of the "hacks" here are a little over board in programming. When a lot could have been done different ways. You put a lot of time and cash into that. So why not 5 minutes in makeing a members group with limited access

Rich, like me you knew what you were getting into when you made Fauna. I knew what I was getting into when I made my site. Both our goals is to get big. Is it nice to break even with the costs? HELL YEAH! It has yet to happen for me. But I am sure it has for you. Or atleast close.

I know what it is like to have an idea. Program the hell out of it and then watch people not use it. The only differense is I do the programing myself. If I can not find the "mod or hack" on the invision support board I make them myself. 99.9% of the time I rewrite them to do what I want. But it takes time as we both know. You pay money for yours. That in itself is another thing and it takes time to make that money.

Rich you need to get back to the first year you made this place. I know it was fun for you. I bet you wanted to read every damn post made. I was there too. Now like you I just do not have the time to do that. I bet you get more emails and PMs then me but I get close to 200 to 250 daily. I am just glad that I can get rid of 50% becuase they are spam lol.

Here is an idea. And you know I get no gain from this. I am posting becuase I hate to see so much BS like this. Hense the reason a certain forum was killed. LOL

Go back to year one. Select a solid group of admins. I think you have that now. Then only go with forum mods. Or even category mods. That may work too. Do not worry about if it gets traffic. It costs the same no matter what lol. I will say once I got the right team in place for a certain area on my site. I have gotten emails saying it is the best part of my site. I do not want to advertise you know. That is why I am making it basic.

But I think Year one was the best year for YOU Rich and Fauna. Would you not agree? Everything else aside. All the other BS. Go back to year 1 when it was fun.

Oh and about the mods here. The problem is there is no team work with the mods here. It is fly by night. Everyone has their own ideas. Some stricked others laid back.

I, for one, don't pick and choose. When I see a post that I feel needs to be addressed, I will admit that I look at the source...then I consider that same post as being by somebody different. If I reconsider the need for action because of that, I act accordingly. Also, it shouldn't be assumed that not seeing point totals increase means that an infraction has been ignored. Some of us just take a lower profile approach to things.

There are a lot of instances I would tend to agree with what you say, however, this is not one of them.

Although I actually know that Lucille does know that Wes does NOT go by that name many do not. I know and you know what she did and I also consider it wrong and a form of name calling as well as being underhanded, as I do know the situation first hand, but I do not know if Dand knows it or how many others know it :shrug01:
So to put us all in the catagory is not right. If I had known that that was common knowledge I most certainly would have given a point for it. I don't though and going into to that whole situation...well I would personally rather not and give perhaps more people ammo. As it is some people are probably looking at your post and my post and wondering, lol.
 
Some, like Harald and Randy and even John, do try to be fair.

dand is not, never has been, and is as far as I know, incapable of taking himself or his friends out of the equation.

He KNEW what she was doing, chose to ignore it despite that knowledge, and went ahead, AGAIN, and played arbitrary not one rule for all, moderator.

He's a blight on all of you who try to hold to a higher standard.

Wes, obviously you can't couch insults as opinions and expect to get away with it. If that were the case then all anyone would need to do is state "This is only an opinion" after every post to avoid warning points.

Actually, given our past and things HE initiated, it will never happen.

Perhaps so, but unless you engaged in a business deal with Dand and you are posting such on the BOI, THIS site is not to be used for your obvious PERSONAL vendettas. WE don't CARE about that "backstory".

I think perhaps what some people here are trying to tell you, Wes, is that we REALLY don't care about your personal issues with someone else being expressed on this site.

And if that said person happens to ding you warning points for an infraction of the rules here, well the simple solution for YOU is to not MAKE those infractions of the rules. It appears that no matter WHO dings you, you will find issue with the issuer as if it is THEM who is at fault for not "understanding" you. Just as you have to me in the past when after getting the most warning points in the history of this site, and finally banning you, YOU felt I was unfair to YOU.

YOU just are not capable or willing to believe that you are 180 degrees out of synch with the rest of the world, Wes. Your belief is that everyone but YOU is wrong. And yeah, everyone dinging YOU points for YOUR infractions MUST be part of an "inquisition" against poor old Wes. :rofl:

Gary, actually I AM just letting the forums "be". I have given up on them. I may put mods in some of them, mostly to thank them for their support or if they feel like they would like to give a hand in them, but for all intents and purposes, I have come to accept the fact that people are here mostly for the BOI and primarily for the entertainment value. I can accept that.

As such, I am leaning more towards things more fun for me, and turning over some of the less fun things to those people who want it. The "Warning Mod" program is along these same lines. Let some others try their hand at the job that I have caught so much flak over. Maybe more people will come to realize that it is not the easy job they thought it was when looking in from the outside of the task.

So yeah, I am pulling more and more away from the less fun things, and taking a more objective view of things here. And as stated before (and of course some finding fault with too... :rofl: ), as long as this site pays it's own way, then it is fun and games for me to keep it here for YOU ALL to have an use as you see fit. But if it becomes a financial drain on me AGAIN, then, no, that is NOT fun for me at all.

Anyway, thanks for the thoughts. But it's all going to be OK. :thumbsup:

Agreed. SOME of the "new mods"......

I did use a bit too broad of a brush there.
 
I think the new 'elite' Mods should have the power to give each other warning points for giving out warning points they don't agree with.

They can give each other warning points for any and all of the rules they may violate as listed on this site. There is no rule against someone disagreeing with another's decisions. Someone disagreeing with one's use of the warning system is not considered as "abuse". Using the warning point system is optional for all of them, and at their own discretion. Warning points are not assessed based on any sort of voting system that requires a consensus among all those able to assess those warnings.
