I personally saw a PI make false statements and findings in a report against me in a civil action (child custody case) and later had to admit onthe stand that he was coerced into making false statements.  All I am saying is everyone is human here.  Noone should have had any contact with Mr. Crowley until the report was completed. If he needed to ask questions to Neil or other witness then he asks them.  But to be Honest, Mr. Crowley never should have allowed Dave to talk to him for any reason about the case or anything to do with it until it is finished.  I can guarantee that If Neil's attorney is a good attorney that he could have the PI's report thrown out of court (no matter what it says) for just that reason.  I am sorry for rambling on but I wanted to post a few things.

That's funny! The page with the accusations on it that Dave "answered"....No, it wasn't me...No, I never said that...No, I don't know what you mean...talk about denial??? 90% of those accusations were taken directly from this thread!! I bet if Ritchie really wanted to...he could "quote" almost all of them!! Go ahead, Ritchie...I've just given you some enjoyment that will last all day...and then some....Neil

If anyone actually had any "real" proof that he committed these robberies I don't think they'd be wasting time posting here. I think they'd go to the police, give them their "proof", and let the legal system do it's job. Then and only then would any "results" be posted. All I see here are accusations. I don't have to read the PI report to know Neil didn't commit any crimes. NO, I don't know Neil personally and I have never purchased from him. I don't have any first hand info either. I do have a "gut" feeling and it says, "NEIL IS INNOCENT!" I choose to go with that feeling. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase reptiles from Neil in the future, because I know he's going to be around for a long time.

Seems like people are pissed because they say Neil lied to them.Ritchie you are supposed to be in the military and how many times has the government lied to us all. You going to change sides there to? Friends are supposed to stick through hell or high water but it seems people jump ship when a little water comes on board. Wait till all is said and done before you start throwing stones. You people used to be friends. Just waiting to see whos next to get their 30 pieces of silver.  I dont even know Neil so dont think i am on his side. I just think you people gave up on 1 of your{friends} to easy. You can call me whatever you want and tell me i dont know this or that but if i have a friend hanging over a cliff i dont  let go.
 
To those who have expressed your opinions that Neil did not rob his own store, I would suggest that you have every right to your opinions, just as does everyone of us.  To those who see nothing wrong with doing business with Neil or Dave, more power to you!  Good luck in all you reputably do.

Some of you, however, have acted as if lack of criminal liability on the part of either of these two is equivalent to complete trustworthiness.  Now, if that is your view, fine.  But please be good enough to recognize that some of us have a different view, and it goes something like this: a liar cannot be trusted.  

I understand why lies have been told in this thread.  Both parties involved have had their very credibility as people questioned before hundreds of friends, colleagues, and potential customers on this BOI.  However, understanding the lies and condoning them are two completely different things.

Chris (or Arnie, I'm not certain who made the post), you have every right to believe Neil.  But before you attack his friends for jumping ship too fast, remember this; Neil has been one of the LOUDEST proponents of people telling the truth on this BOI, and he has been one of the first to condemn those who have lied to cover their own failings.  It is the utter hypocracy that many of us have seen that has made so many upset with Neil.  Most of us who question him now, started off by sticking up for him against Dave.  However, Neil's evasiveness, lack of "clear memory" as to pertinent facts, and outright attacks upon those seeking only answers to real questions has done him a great deal of harm in the eyes of many.  

Why have we not seen this type of reaction to Dave's fallacies?  Well, I have tried to point out everytime he has posted witout evidence, and I know that Neil says that he has lied to us all (but Neil has also often lacked evidence in those accusations).  The simple fact is, that Dave has not enjoyed the position of integrity guru that Neil has on this board, and his deviations from truth seeking are less glaring to those of us who have trusted Neil for so long.  Perhaps that says something about us, but perhaps it says more about Dave.  I'm not sure.

You all have the right to your opinions.  I will not belittle you for them, even though I may (strongly) disagree.  Will you be kind enough to allow those who hold a different view the same courtesy?
 
Linda, Chris and Arnie...thank you for believing in me! I would never let you down! I KNOW the meaning of the word "friendship"! I take that word very seriously....life's much too short to be so negative all the time....I'm glad that somebody finally had the guts to pick a side....I'm also very relieved that it's my side! hahaha

Just for the record....since the beginning of May,...I have NOT spoken to ANY law enforcement personnel or agency AT ALL! Well, except for the time the Det. called me to ask me not to put his name on the BOI....other than that....nobody has spoken to me about my burglaries in any way, shape or form....that just seems very odd considering I'M (supposedly) the prime suspect??? Doesn't that seem strange to any of you??? According to Dave, he has spoke to them at great length a bunch of times....gee? I wonder why that is??? "Thou doth protest too much"....Neil

I dont know quite if is would be a attack on on his friends I think more to the point that we dont understand how friends turn on friends so fast.  The key element here is friends.  Judas is judas no matter how you look at it.  Will stand by Neil and we dont even know him never done business with him.  If he had anything to hid he sure as h@ll wouldn't come on here and risk all this.  Knowing full well there is always wolves on here lookin for blood.

I agree with Linda on the gut feeling thing.  

And I do agree with Neil on his last point...

If he was a prime suspect in the TPDs investigation...AND in Mr. Crowley's investigation, wouldn't both the TPD and Mr. Crowley have been in a little more contact with Neil than they have been?  I am not a detective or anything, but wouldn't you want to investigate/question the prime suspect on his possible involvement in the robbery?  I would think they would be at the store regularly, have taken him in for questioning, had detectives and officers crawling all over, hidden cameras, hidden microphones, etc. etc.(okay, maybe not to ALL those extremes, but you get the picture).  I know that if I was a detective involved in this case, I would be on Neil like stink on a monkey if he was my prime suspect.  I wouldn't just be sitting back spending all my time talking with someone who has an axe to grind and relying on strictly what that person says.  
Something just doesn't seem to ad up here, but so far, what else HAS?
 
I would just like to state up front that I'm not taking sides in this whole messed up matter and wish everyone involved the best of luck in the end if there ever is one.

I would just like to pass on one of my work experiences that kinda reflects on this situation.

Several years ago I was as a Quality Control Manager in a small local machining company that did work for the Government.
The owner of the company was in his everyday outside of work life very respected and liked in the community and was always Jonnie on the spot helping folks out financially and in any other way he could.
Now comes the dark part.
When he was in his company running mode he was one of the most miserable, underhanded, lying, cheating and mistreating people I ever had the misfortune to work for.
He treated his family who worked either with or for him like crap. He treated most of his employees like they were subhuman. He misrepresented his products to his customers. He falsely fabricated paperwork that he sent to the Government and also lied about specs and test results.
As a result. I was with him only for a very short time because I wouldn't lie for him and put my signature on it and I wouldn't misrepresent the products to the Government inspectors. Needless to say we didn't get along real well from the start. He did eventually get caught in his lies.
Here is where the worse part of it comes in. Because the guy was so well liked in the community. No one!! And I repeat No One!! would believe that the guy was at all the way he was in work and with his business dealings.
His own son ended up walking out and starting his own very successful machine company that is doing great today.

The moral of the story is:
"Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see when it comes to dealing with people. The Dark half will sooner or later come out if it's there. It can't be helped."

That is all well and good. But, you are forgetting one thing:
True friends do not lie to each other. If a "friend" will lie to you once, that "friend" will have no compunction lying to you again. What is then to stop that "friend" from lying to you in a situation that could truly affect you?

I am taking a side here. Regardless of Neils' guilt or innocence, I no longer care. I do not trust both Neil and Dave. Call it what you will. Lies or "memory lapses". The truth is, there has been deception here.

Actually, here is my truth:

1. I have never believed Dave.
2. I never believed Neil to be guilty.
3. I wanted Neil to be innocent.
4. I was totally behind Neil.
5. I considered Neil to be a friend.
6. I considered Neil to be a good guy.

The problem is, I have been way too many times by so-called "friends". People seem to take friendship as a weakness. Something to be exploited. I for one, do not want or need to surround myself with "friends" who will lie to me. What turned me against Neil was simply his actions here. Not what he "allegedly" did to his store. Personally, I think him doing his own store is bullsh!+. However, his conduct here is uncalled for.

These are MY thoughts and opinions. Take them how you will. Even attack me if you will. I will in return respond in kind. If YOU have a problem with MY feelings, then that is YOUR problem. Not mine. Deal with it.

Ritchie...I haven't lied to you??? Nowhere in that email did I say I ALREADY hired a PI??? I haven't hired MY PI...yet!! On my attorney's advice, I was told to wait and hire one after Tom's PI report comes out, to see where it's all leading.....THEN, I will hire one to REALLY find out...right now, it's pointless, and just a waste of money....but afterwards, is a different story....

With regards to a comment on the "cease and desist", has a real case been filed with a court date or again was that another lie???  The only thing that has transpired is a failed attempt to keep Dave silent...Impressive I might add!!!

It is sad to see the character assassination of the PI.
This is totally unwarranted as eveyone doing so is second guessing at this point on the report findings and how he arrived at his conclusions.  It seems more like a preemptive stike to discredit the findings.

Lastly, to Rich Z.  I suspect if there is some sort of "smoking gun" in this report that directly implicates the gulity party, the TPD will not want it public until they complete their investigation. You might want to read it to see whats up and give an edited review as I think everyone here feels comfortable with your opinon and honesty not to hide the truth.

Try to name another country that would offer you the comforts and rights you enjoy here. Have they lied to us or hid things in the past, well that's not the issue we are addressing here.  What we are addressing is inconsistencies associated with Neil and his stories on the robbery of the Snake Pit.  You have your opinions on the matter just as others have their opinions.  Your opinions can be exact opposites, yet you can both firmly believe your interpretation is correct.  That's what makes this country so great, we can voice our differences in the open.. But realize Chris and Arnie, by calling someone a Judas for stating their opinion is very shallow.  Ritchie was one of Neils most vocal supporters until Neil refused to answer his questions and Ritchie started noting inconsistencies in the messages Neil posted.  Does it mean Neil lied to us?  I don't know for sure.  Does it mean Neil just has a bad memory and was confused while posting?   Again, none of us know that for sure but Neil.  What Ritchie did is clearly state why he "changed sides" (your quote).  He analyzed what he had been told, what he saw with his own eyes, and then decided he may have been incorrect in his original assumptions on Neil.   We all make mistakes and that is why we are all human!  So to keep this post on topic, I would like to say it was nice for Neil to post his (along with his father's) accounts of what transpired after the robbery, and for Neil to post his apology.  Does it change my opinion of Neil?  I'm not really sure, though it does count for something.  I'm still concerned with his statements made in his e-mail about Josie.. I don't know either of them (Josie or Neil), but guess what, Neil was way off base when he posted his shooting comment.  Josie does have a reason to be upset and concerned with the content of that e-mail!
I hope Neil is able to clear some of this confusion up as I really enjoyed reading some of his insight into situations.  I also had given him kudos more than once for his generosity to others.  But with what has transpired in this post, and the actions taken by himself and Dave to discredit one another, it's going to be a very long hill to climb..

I do believe I am being tested by all this.  Perhaps my penance for creating the BOI.

Today I just learned how tough this test is going to be.

I just ask that you all trust me to do what is best, even if that decision isn't going to be the most popular one to make.

That is REALLY all I want to say on the matter.
