Galloway Township, NJ- The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey awarded six fellowships to Stockton College students as part of its Board of Trustees’ Distinguished Student Fellowships program. This is an annual program to which student scholars apply and, if selected, are awarded up to $1,000 to further their studies. This program is an important part of the College’s year-round emphasis on academic excellence and the fostering of effective partnerships between students, faculty and the community. Members of the selection committee consisted of faculty and staff members as well as students.
The fall 2008 winners were presented with their awards at the December 10, 2008 meeting of the Stockton College Board of Trustees. Recipients are:
• Sean Flanner, a senior from West Creek, NJ, majoring in business management; Brett Kaplan, Absecon, a junior majoring in computer science; and Allyn Scott, Barnegat, a senior majoring in mathematics, for their collaborative project “Cell Phones and Mobile Device Forensics.”

Thomas Dorn, Manchester, NJ, a senior majoring in chemistry, for research on “Polymerization of Ionic Liquids and the Impact on Thermal Properties.”
• Christopher Moore, Ventnor, a junior literature major, for his project “Cultural Mythology of the Garden State.”
• Keyanna Turner, Browns Mills, NJ, a senior psychology major, for her research study on “The Effect of Family Communication on the Decisions of Adolescents to Engage in Sexual Behavior.”
