Wow Tommy. That is small compared to mine and many out there. I was doing some more reading on feeding habits of boa's and pythons. It seems most of us do over feed our boa's.
But i can understand the want to feed more. I dont agree with power feeding, but i see the need to feed on a more regular basis. When paying a couple thousand on a new morph, you want to take advantage of that early one. If you wait 5 years or more to bring that snake to size, you lose out on the market. If thats the breeders purpose. And in most cases it is.Not that all people are buying snakes that cost thousands. But even a few hundred dollars on each boa,the caging, heat, time and all that goes with it makes us want to feed more.
I have already started my own testing on 1 of my boa's from this year. I would like to know more on the feeding and the longevity from ways we feed.
I believe we have talked some about this a bit ago in another ad.
By the way, both of them are sweet looking Tommy.

Another feeding of a 1 day old live pinky rat. He has been doing great.
Looking forward to another shed, maybe after this meal.

Thats the second one Tommy. I will try 3 weeks this time if he digest this one well.
He really wanted it badly. He is doing real well and climbs right on my hand when i offer it to him. Seems to enjoy being handled. lol.
He is smaller then a corn snake baby ? I think he will make it and will have a long healthy life here. I hope.

Good to hear of the progress, slow and deliberate patience offers experience many
never get. When their birth size hasnt doubled in three years its pretty cool thing.

Bad news. My little guy passed away today. Depressing. i will seriously think next time if i should cull at birth.

I'm so bummed to hear this. I finally got around to checking out the update and was thrilled for you that he was doing well. :(

I'm sorry, man.

Sucks to loose them bro,you had him a good bit longer then you would have
if you would have followed the average methods people insist on.
Ive lost several over the years, its disheartening but you have to move on
and care for the rest.
That experience you dont find in books, hang in there

Dont be to quick with the culling, some of these runt guys do make it
if you ease them along for several months.
Im all for culling for the visual deformities, its the internals that are the crap shoot

I'm sorry to hear the little guy did not make it. He seemed like a survivor.

I agree with Tommy that culling should only be used in obvious cases. Some of them do thrive after a rough start.

Thanks everyone. I really was hoping to keep this guy as my "special boy" but i guess it wasnt meant to be. I really thought he was gonna make and hoped he was.
You guys are great and nice to see compassion on here from people that live miles apart.
Thank you !
Rich
