In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. sand, sand, and more sand

I've been doing this for 6 yrs. Even had my first pair of juvis on desert sand and they are alive and kick'n to this day. Switched to play sand as I got more and more geckos. I now place hatchlings and juvi's on racks with papertowels and adults are either on sand in tanks or in sweater boxes lined with newspaper and a sand box for laying.
Speaking of sand I need to go to bed.

Anyone that has been posting and hanging out on the ksnake forum probably knows my opinion on sand. I used playsand for years as a substrate for my adult breeders, and they did fine, no problems. I also fed a diet of crickets exclusively (occasional pinky mouse) back then. Sand is not the evil killer of leopard geckos.

I feel like a broken record now. Back to feeding geckos:D

I agree with Kelly. I have had geckos on calci sand for over two years(adults only). I know thats not long, but they have never had any problems. I use papertowels now though, because it is way easier to clean; especially if you have a lot of geckos.

personally i have eaten large amounts of sand in my days in the garden center and my days spent at the beach (before i came a recluse) and i have yet to become inpacted and let me tell you my intestinal tract works very well........................

I can assure you, Robin is far from impacted.

I know who to call when I need some sand blasting done

. . . I guess I can chime in. I have used calci sand (which I still use for display animals at my campus church) - Free Flo (like Jodi) - paper towels and nothing.

They all work great. I never had problems, and I used to feed crickets exclusively.

I don't know - it feels KS'y to me to debate this. Terry's a good guy - probably didn't know that this sand deal has been going on for ages.

But what the heck do I know - my tiger stripes didn't start to lay until I sold them to Terry. So maybe he's the man. I'm certainly not.

ahhhh

Robin..........you have a little bit of sand on the corner of your mouth..........right there...yep...ok......alright..........you got it.....!
