Not necessarilly true there, most adults will look at the whole picture and make an assessment based on what is and is not said. Attitudes can be read.

Then why do you not believe that Todd ? Why is the customer allways wrong ? In the society I live in the customer is right and it is our job to make them happy and not have posts deleted or talk on how big a name we are. A seller CAN be wrong Todd. I am a seller I have been wrong before and have fixed any problem I have had...You on the other hand are not humble.

I have not done nor said what you allege. I have always ran a great business with 99% of my customers being satisfied for over 26 years. The 1% that were not are the ones that most business people understand can never be satisfied.

Humble? Sure, I'm humble. I regret Brad found ONE mite on the snake, but if you want me to admit I have mites in my snake collection or that I deliberately send out a snake with a mite - No, I'm sorry, I run a clean ship, have too many people satisified with my quality of animals and I have no mites on my snakes. You have an agenda to run my name in the ground. That is very, very apparent. I quess you and I won't exchange Xmas cards this year or anytime soon. With that fact established, you have tried to tarnish my reputation that I have built over 26 years with thousands of customers via mail order and trade shows. If I was such a bad dealer, such a "buyer beware" type or my animals were so, so bad, why have I been so successful and have so many customers and so many happy ones to boot? Figure that out. That is very illogical.

I wish Brad success with this woma and hope he can find a female that he likes in the future, but I warn the seller to watch out if Brad finds something out of place that didn't exist and then have that seller's name ran into ground here. It reminds me of things 20 yrs. ago in this country. If a friend slipped on your driveway, nobody launched instant lawsuits. People talked and worked things out and nobody was that evil and selfish. Now, if your best friend slips on your driveway, he will sue your butt off because that is what society today teaches him that he must do. Here on this thread, the BOI one, the same mentality is applied. It's a shame.

Things can be worked out between seller and buyer without this kind of crap. It's disgusting. Don't try to make up stuff John. I run a clean ship and nice business for a long, long time. There are many reasons for that and deep down you know it, so stop with your hatchet job here. It's very easy what you are trying to do here.

Ahhh the boast post...ya know Todd I do not lie nor do I have to. I have said you do have some good deals and yes you have been around for some time. The funny thing here is that people remember the attitude more than the animals.
Another thing there Todd the BOI does it's job well. As far as an agenda of mine where Todd ? ...other than here have I told the truth and it stuck.

Ironic. When people buy from me, it's the animals that they remember. Just the opposite of what you say. I'm one of the few dealers that gives excellent customer service and information pre-sale and post-sale and that is what I'm known for and my quality animals. What I am not known for will I is having bad stock or mite-infested snakes. That's not me and I resent the accusation of it.

As far as feces, based on your previous hatchett job and the one here, I will always associate your name with that description. That's a fact.

So if I am making this whole mite thing up as you are implying, why would I have went out after midnight to walgreens to get betadine and mineral oil? Why would I have spent $17.47 there for no reason? Why would I then go the next morning to the pet store to purchase reptile relief and Provent-a-Mite? Why would I have spent another $32.52 on these two products just to ruin your "excellent" reputation? Why would I post on another forum on Feb 16, 2007 at 11:08pm that I just got this snake that evening and it has mites and I need some suggestions? Come on Todd!

In an email, you said that maybe the mites came from the box. If so, doesnt that imply that the animal that come in that box would have mites? Which brings the question, why would you use that box to ship a customer their reptile?

If you thought that we could have resolved this over emails (which I agree we could have), then why didnt you return my email? Why did you ignore me? I'm not sure about you, but ignoring a customer's complaint sounds like poor customer service to me!

First, we should have been talking privately instead of here, but your impatience and for other reasons implied on this thread, you thought it would be better to run my name in the ground. That is not the way to resolve things.

Second, if you are right, then you are implying that at best that I sent you a snake with ONE mite accidentally. O.k. If you were to have kept that attitude, we might have had a better resolution with apologies, humbleness and amends, but at worst, and this is actually what you did here, you implied that I intentionally send you a snake with ONE mite on it and that the rest of my snakes have mites as well. Coupled with being egged on by John Apple and David Beard, you have a classic smear campaign.

Well, after that, no I'm not going to like that at all and I resent the false accusation and trying to run my name in the ground. You jumped the gun and pointed the gun at me, John and David B. gave you more ammo and now I'm open for target practice and you expect me not to defend myself?

You can take a higher road, stop with the smear campaign, remove this junk from this thread and resolve things personally without the influence of people that love a flame war and love to try to bring people down.

I think review boards have some good use in our trade, but the way some are set up with loose rules and little to no moderation at all, it becomes so easy for those looking to smear somebody. All they got to do is make an accusation and just because it's posted on the net everybody things it's a fact.

I have no mites in my snake collection to the best of my inspections and also from the validation of happy snake customers recently. You say you don't in your collection and it is perfect. You discover ONE mite on your snake. Somewhere in the middle is an answer. Either you are not perfect and have some mites that you missed in your room, collection, tank, etc. or maybe I'm not perfect and ONE mite came from Mars and there it was. The bottom line is that I am NOT a dirty dealer/breeder and don't screw people over and you are not a dirty customer looking for free replacements and hookups and out to make a seller out to be Idi Amin.

With the realization that the paragrah above is true, then removing the attitudes and talking with an open mind without an agenda is the way to go. I'm all ears with an open mind, but I will not stand for this public hatchet job that those you think making a thread like this a version of the UFC is entertaining. It's sad. People can do things the old fashion way and a honest way by talking directly without the venom that our society wants us to inject into every sitatuation.

But this is what I was talking about Todd. You think you can do nothing wrong. You cant even admit that you may have made a mistake and that it could have been on him before you sent him. Instead you have to come up with an arrogant explaination implying that there is no way that the mite was on it before shipping it to me.

I can understand that you didnt want to deal with me once I got angry and that you thought I didnt deserve an apology, however, when I first emailed you about it, not ONCE did you apologize. After a couple exchange of emails and you were still making up excuses and still had not apologized, then I got mad.

I dont have a problem talking about this privately but the only way I can do that is if you step down off of your pedestal, and talk to me like a normal concerned human and not like an arrogant person.

My post was directed at those who are saying that mites are not a really big deal. I disagree, and think that mites are a big deal. And if they are not a big deal, as some have said, then they should be elimintated before shipping the reptile.

Wow Todd, you rule. The kid post receipts and emails from the day he got the snake from you and you still try to suggest that maybe the mites were in his collection of less than 5 long term snakes instead out of your large collection of turn over animals. You are basically saying that he has so many mites, that they are in his extra room where the snake was put away from his collection? He is being so anal to even mention this but he has a infestation at his place that he didn't know about? Then you go on to try to point out that he mentioned only one mite in the eye. You leave out the second mite that fell off after the soaking and never mind that there could have been more in the water that the kid never even looked for because he doesn't know any better because he is a newb.

He is obviously a newbe by the fact that he paid what he did for a male instead of a female and you don't have the common sense to say "Sorry, sometimes this kind of thing can happen, go buy some PAM and I will reimburse you the cost" that is all you had to say. You got this kid for $500 plus 3% and shipping for a snake he could have got for $350 shipped. Even though this was a animal that you had to purchase to resell, you were still making more than the $20 it would have cost for PAM and some common decency.

I am the one that suggested he post on here. It was not because of the mites (plural) but because of the lack of communication on your part, and what you did have to say was it was not a big deal so he should just deal with it. That is completely wrong and the reason this thread is here. It is your fault, no one else's. The fact that you have guys that don't like you jumping in is beside the point and has nothing to do with the fact that you dealt with this situation in a terrible way.

The way you are handling this makes me think you are actually a decent seller because most of the real scumbags, and I am talking about guys that I know are scumbags from personal experience, well they say all the right things and play to the masses. You are saying all the wrong things, so maybe you really don't think this has anything to do with you. I can only say, go back and read what you said to him in the emails and what he presented on his behalf and wake the hell up. You don't have a foot to stand on. the information presented leaves no other possible conclusion other than the snake came in with mites.

Sure it happens, but it shouldn't, and when it does you say sorry and try to make things right

Whether or not the mites came from you, as a smart businessman, just apologize, buy the guy some mite spray, and let him be happy with his animal. Write it off as a cost of doing business. If you had simply done that, this whole thing would probably be a non-issue.

I would agree, hey, two mites, who knows where the Hell they came from. But, if you were smart, you could have nipped this in the bud early on.

I am on the fence with this thread. If Todd is such a hot head IMO he didn't show it here. I don't think he handled the original email exchange badly at all. It appeared that some were just waiting for him to come here so they could jump all over him. They appear to frequent the other board that doesn't allow things like this and couldn't wait to get him here.

WELL Kevin I am not, believe you me I weighed my decision and looked at the other warning points I have delt and that falls in the parameters of what I have been doing here.
If Todd would have handled this differently things WOULD have been different and this would have not gone on...there is no pitty party here
