In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just a FYI...Mr. Crutchfield is now posting on Kingsnake classifieds as "missdaisy"...either that or someone WANTS to use the email [email protected] and is from Ft Myers, FL.

He has some quite interesting ads...most of which involve the descriptive words, "gorgeous, sexual, rare, and/or studly."

"Just a FYI...Mr. Crutchfield is now posting on Kingsnake classifieds as "missdaisy"...either that or someone WANTS to use the email [email protected] and is from Ft Myers, FL."

Already been discussed here pages back. I realize it is a very long thread, just like the other one...

I bought 3 boas from Tom over the past year [he gave me a discount] and here is what happened
after a few days the female died and Tom replaced it, after a little of my way of saying things[i.e. don't take this lightly].and then I thought all was cool....well the male died a few weeks after that and the replacement female is now on her way out , very lethargic and will not eat anymore.I also found a mite or two in the drawers that they were in [time to use the d-earth]
All NEW animals are in the new room for 6 months before going in the general population of my collection, so I am assuming this is no pathogen that I have in my collection as they are all very healthy.
I am sure the naysayers will lambast this post , but facts are facts.
Replacements are a no-no with me now , hell why would I want a snake from the same conditions that these came from

John, I am sorry to hear that. What a nice track record he has now. It looks like ol Tom/Miss Daisy/Kenny Rogers did you wrong in a big way on that one. Were these Boas Imports or CB?

You should probably have them necropsied too. Isn't he close to sal and neil? Didn't sal have IBD at one point?

Bummer about the snakes. Crutchfield was always good about replacing animals but that was years ago and I suspect his quality was higher back then so replacements were not as common.

Still the length of time and the fact that both died would have me suspicious as to cause.

I hate to hear about the loss of any animal, but

their is always a risk factor involved. I am a bit uncertain if these snakes were actually looked at before the purchase was made, not that it makes a big difference once they are on the way out, but you could have made better choices . Tom is a buyer just like you or anyone else. He is no longer importing, but buys from people for the purpose of reselling. Why would you even consider dealing with him other than a price factor ?

I can safely assume that you know what you are doing when it comes to the snakes that interest you, and that you chose to go to someone who is not a breeder, or someone who has an unblemished reputation for their Boas, or someone you feel you can rely on for information. Instead you went to Tom, had some difficulties and realize that you should have known better.

Sorry you incurred your loss, and I am even sorrier that it involved Tom, who would be better off in becoming an author of his exploits than a seller of Reptiles.

For me the choice to do business with Tom would be based on trust. I do not trust men who shave the hair off their arms and legs for anything other than a surgical procedure. If you're a bodybuilder in competition for the Mr. Universe title I can understand. If you're a pornstar I can even understand. But if you're a shaved reptile dealer....then you're just darn strange.

Either I missed something or you know FARRRRRRR too much about some people.

The snakes were bought off of KS and the pics represent the snakes that I got, so as far as looking at them from Michigan to Florida , I got pics and I saw snakes, hell I even talked with Tom over the phone a couple of times about the snakes.
I have both dead snakes in my freezer and probably the one female soon.
getting them to e vet and having them necropsied is beyond my finances with all six children born from 9-11 to 1-3 and Christmas besides, can you say whew....
better choices could probably have been made but this is the way I chose as we all do, being buyers and sellers
Shaving your arms...what does that have to do with trust??? I look like a tatooed hood withn a mean face [as some would say] so not trusting someone on thier appearance is moot

Hey man....lol....I dont like knowing these kind of things at all...but a close friend of his who was commenting on what Toms been up to in the hobby mentioned he still lifts weights and shaves his legs. I was a bit shocked and said...."did you say Tom shaves his legs?". He started laughing so hard at my surprise that I thought it was a joke or something.

Check it out for yourself, when you meet him take a gander at his legs and forearms. It freeked me out. Chicks show more stubble on her legs. Its just unnatural.

Well, just my two cents

Just my two cents here, but I went to tampa and picked up some animals from Tom the night before the tampa show.
I received healthy snakes that ate immediately for me the next morning and are growing like weeds. Both have had good fecals and one has shed for me. Hope they continue to grow this way, but as far as I am concerned, he hasn't done me wrong.

I talked with him for a while friday night and looked at the majority of animals he was gonna put out on his table at the show, I don't recall seeing any unhealthy animals, and I didn't see any mites at that time.

Anyways, I doubt that this thread or anyone on it can dispute the fact that Tom Crutchfield is the reason we have a lot of our breeding stock, whether or not his other actions outweigh the good he did for the industry is a personal opinion.

Only time will tell if Tom is in fact rehabilitated.

TOM

Like skipping a stone over smooth water, every time a point is touched/the rock hits the surface, it is propelled forward skipping vast quantities of information/water until it once again glances off the surface of the opinions/water skipping again and again, until finally the kenitic energy is spent and the stone sinks back to the bottom, perhaps having a clear view of it available through pristine and immaculate environmental positioning or perhaps merely sinking out of site in the mud and turmoil that are so easily found.

I think a really good question here is, "whose hand will next be the one to reach down and bring him to the surface and will that hand be brown and muddy or clean and pure, thoroughly saturated with the gift of life anew?"

Or maybe not.

He's a guy that's done some good stuff and some bad stuff. He tells a good story but would you tell him about your illegal doings if you had them? Would you REALLY trust him like you would someone without his record?

That's the bottom line, all opinions aside.

TOM

Mites are a funny little pain in the a$$, just because they are not visible does not mean that they are not there, as we all know they can hide behind the smallest scale . This can also be applied to a virus or bacterial infection...just cause ya can't see it.............
Live and learn...live and learn...I think my kids and I will go skip some stones this weekend and leave them .
Doing good is great and no matter how much good you do , one bad dead ruins all the good. It is what people remember

Well, your last line is something to think about. I certainly would not want to risk buying anything from Mr. Crutchfield unless I was 100% sure that he WAS rehabilitated. He has been busted twice already. Everyone knows that the third time is a charm...
