In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Top Shelf Exotics (Inquiry)

Can anyone get a list of the complainants from KS. I am sure some of the KS crowd do not frequent the BOI. Perhaps they could be subpoenaed? The BOI is the reason the gravity of the deception at TSE is exposed, Thanx Rich Z.

Dan not that it really Matters a whole lot but when they say the same IP address they mean as in the same account. If you have one or 50 computers hooked up the the line coming into your house they have the same IP address. Now in an Apt Bldg, each apt would have a different one unless the same person rented more than one apt and hooked up all the computers to the same line.. So what everyone has been saying is that it is the same person or at the very least is coming from the same house,Apt. whatever. Doesn't make sense as you said but then what about this all does...Randy

Jerry,

It matters to me if anybody has heard from TSE recently as I've sent them plenty of emails with no return answer.

Also, you keep mentioning bankruptcy like it's a panacea from debt collection which it isn't. A bankruptcy does not automatically erase judgments. Also, if you place a lien on Chris you would be notified when the bankruptycy hearing is. You then could go to that hearing and protest your claim being dismissed. One of the reason it's so easy to declare bankruptcy is that very few creditors actually show up to the hearings to protest the proceedings. I speak from experience and my daily workings on this one.

Everybody that has been ripped off by TSE needs to get in touch with an attorney right away.

Also, if Chris was so smart to scam everybody so long what makes everybody think that Chris Johnson is actually the guy's real name. Has anybody ever met him in person?

Thanks,
Dave Schroeder

OK, am I just really ignorant......was the poll just added???

I don't know how to vote.....I received animals from TSE before and everything was fine and I was satisfied, but this time I have received nothing and obviously NOT satisfied, in fact I'm quite peeved.

Well, I sent an E-mail requesting a refund. I honestly do not expect a response but maybe I will be lucky. Has anyone contacted the authorities? Anyone know a good lawyer?

(Oh man! a one word answer here, could have been fatal for me.

The poll was just added

Gotcha! :)

I'm just aware about that poll also. If I had to choose between options I would have to go with #4. The problem is that I'm not satisfied with how all the rest has been handled. So, do I vote according to my own experience or what I think of the whole situation? Could one more option be added that reflects this situation?

Thanks

Chris Johnsons new avatar on the TSE forums. Thought it was fitting. I dont think he will like it though. But unless he repays everyone he owes its only a matter of time. And yes, it is his actual avatar on the site as of now. I dont know who could have changed it. :hehe: :hehe:

David, I did not mention bankruptcy as a panacea

secondly, it does not matter if Chris does not make contact with anyone! Here is the reasoning. If Chris has an attorney, anything that relates to this mess will go to the attorney, and Chris will no longer have to respond to anything. As it stands right now, I am sure its so overwhelming for Chris that he would be delighted to have someone represent him and deal with any and all potential litigation. So if I were in Chris's shoes, I would not attempt to make contact.

Secondly, in sofar as bankruptcies are concerned, the purpose of me mentioning it was not a "quick all solution" for Chris, but it does provide the creditors or their attorny's an opportunity to check tax returns, bank records , etc. and see where this money has gone.

My mentioning of bankruptcy is also related to opening up the books of the business as well as bank statements that can be brought to the District Attorney's office if their is a pattern of fraud. So their are underlying reasons as to why I mention these things. I dont suspect for one moment that Chris will continue attempting to "somehow make good on monies that he owes, monies that others have lost that we dont even know about, snakes that have been misrepresented and sold. "

I trust you understand my explanation '

TSE Het Customer Mailing List

I have sent out the first mailing list for customers of TSE with as yet unproven hets. Since this issue has to be dealt with differently than those who just plain haven't received animals this list is only for people who have received alleged het animals.

I am sure I have missed people or have missing data. If you did not receive the email but should be on the list, please message me with the pertinent data.

Once we're all in contact we can discuss options on how to proceed.

Jim Flaherty: if you want to be on the list, speaking as the moderator of the list we would welcome your input.

Since you guys are looking at IP addresses. Chris and Doug use the exact same IP address.

Jason,
Thanks for the invite. To be quite honest, I don't feel that I am one of the better positioned folks for this. This is going to be a very localized effort within the group of folks who have a financial stake in it. For example, someone mentioned earlier that every party involved should talk to their attorney. That's a lot of wasted money in my view. One or two of you who feel that you have enough of a vested interest need to volunteer to collect some other funds from folks who want to be included if anything is possible. Nothing elaborate, but if folks don't contribute, they don't get included in the event there is a class action of some sort, or perhaps you allow late buy-ins. I think you need about $500-600 to get started, and I think it need not be very official right now. Based on that input, maybe 2-3 hrs worth of attorney work, you decide if you go for round number two, which would be to hire an attorney where Chris lives, spend another $500, and see if there is blood in that turnip. No one need travel there, it can all be done by mail, email, and phone. Maintaining a het record to collect and disseminate results as clutches hatch is an easy thing for anyone to set up, but again I feel it best if done by someone with a vested interest, as it is always better to go with someone who has their heart (and wallet) in it. Amongst other things, this very thread will remain as a place for folks to join the fray, report their news, etc.
I am sure that I and Jerry and Lucille and Rich (to name a few who are not owed anything by TSE) and many others here who have any advice or expertise to offer about different aspects of this mess will be glad to offer such, technical info (I love you guys who take apart the ISP stuff ... call me stupid there), and the like. If I take on much in the way of actual time obligations to you though, my own shareholders would not be pleased. But at any point, if you want my advice, I am sure that I and many others here will do their best to guide you. Once you get a first meeting with an attorney, that individual will call most of the shots for you anyway. I would recommend a larger firm, preferrably a dozen attorneys or more, who have some expertise in business law and handle litigation, even though they won't be handling an eventual case in NY State. Sorry, but you don't want a 1-2 attorney outfit, as one size will not fit all. If one of you does volunteer to collect money and meet with an attorney, it may not be all headache. You will receive a nice quick education on business law, civil suits, etc, and it will make you a much wiser person for future situations down the road. It will be time well spent regardless of the outcome.

There is that name Doug again. Does he need to be added to the Chris/Pat/Glenn/Sybil list or does he really exist? I think that this was asked before, but I don't recall that it was ever answered. Has anyone ever met one of the people named above in person? At a reptile show, anywhere?

Ladies and Gentlemen we have a New Winner for the year 2006..Ive been dethroned For Boneheadness Just thought this tread needed some humor

Casey, I do realize that, My most humblest Apologies. And Good luck to all that have monies owed to them and I hope you get interest on it.

Thanks Jim

I wasn't trying to impose, it was just an offer to keep you in the loop if you wanted to be. I appreciate all of your insight and counsel through the BOI. If the times comes when you have animals to sell that fit my personal needs, you've earned a spot high on my list.

Hmmm... integrity. I think there are a lot of people in the hobby that could use some.... maybe they can find someone that has integrity and breed. Then the offspring would be het for integrity.... too bad integrity isn't codom/dom. It'd be nice if you could tell what people were by looking at them before dealing with them....

For those of you who may be pondering initiating a legal response here, how to assemble it, etc. There's another angle to keep in mind, cause this will be war ....... Security. If you try to put together a fund of folks who claim to be owed by Chris, you will have to be careful what info you put out to them, lest one be a plant (as in spy, not philodendron). You may have an "inner circle" or "board" of verified decision makers, and then others who are kept more in the dark, if not completely excluded and not allowed to participate because you cannot verify who they are. Sorry, but that's the cost of being nobody.

On the het side, one entity who got into the group that claimed to have eggs cooking, and then claimed in two months that they had hets, could deflate an otherwise legitimate pursuit if this were a false claim. On the upside, if you find three verified entities with 1.1 or more that expect results this season, the chance of all three coming up randomly negative with real hets is well over 1:500, more if egg counts and hatch trend higher than 7 per. Three entities is all you need for your control group to provide strong evidence in a civil procedure, and I would reject any others for results unless they are very credible. You can allow more to join in the suit though. Let Chris find those who will support his bloodlines if chooses to fight it.

It is also reasonable that no legal challenge may be mounted. Scammers know this, and unfortunately it sometimes just isn't worth it to pursue. One thing that scares defendants otherwise is if a plaintiff "took it personally", as it makes the $ value lower to justify a claimant pushing legal action. One of the first things an attorney would tell Chris, if he were to consult one now and get a drift of Chris's emails, is "no more antagonism".
