In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Top Shelf Exotics (Inquiry)

So let me get the straight. lets say a guy walking down the street stole my garden hose, he then stole 9 more from my neighbors. we all have proof that that are our hoses. we have paypal receipts to prove it. i call the police and make a report. only 3 other neighbors are willing to do the same. does that mean the police cant do anything because its not a strong enough case? they need every one with yellow grass on my street to make the case strong? one theft is all it should take. the others that didn't fill out there paper work are :censored: someone needs to get this criminal stuff going. if they cant get Chris, can i sue the NY police dept for negligence for going so slow and dragging there feet?

Mike, to answer your question, you have to look at

Lady Justice. She has her eyes covered with a cloth. Sometimes people do to! They do not want to get invovled even if it pertains to their own property. You cannot force a person to be a complainant in a criminal case. He certainly does not have to cooperate. Many cases have been lost due to the complainant not showing up or changing their story, or just not cooperating with the DAs office. I have seen it, been their and personally as much as I would hate to see the bad guy walk, many times the complainant is so intimidated by the system that its easier to move on and limit your loss.

Going back to court means taking a day off from work, waiting around the court corridors, coming face to face sometimes with the accuser, and an overall inconvenience if this is a fraud related issue. In most instances unless we are talking BIG fraud, the perpetrator ends up with a minimum jail term , or a fine or possibly both. Sorry to portray what the system is like, but it has not improved since I was in involved . JERRY

Mike,
You aren't very in tune with the civil vs. criminal system. Chris did not steal hoses. He took money in business transactions, then did not fill the orders. The het stuff is also not a slam dunk. If it was just a few, he could dodge all easily with bankruptcy protection, as the money was sent to him voluntarily. The state of NY is being quite cooperative in trying to take an otherwise civil matter and help to make it a criminal fraud matter. None of the victims are tax-paying residents of the state of NY. If all were Buffalo area residents, it would be easier for them to prosecute. None are, only the perpetrator. While I don't expect people to read over 2000 posts to gain an understanding of the system, it would be nice if you made an effort to educate yourself first about how the system works for you, for me, and for everyone else, and why the phrase "BUYER beware" is so true, before coming here with an analogy that is frivolous. For better of for worse, its the system, and it is as it is for a thousand reasons, the overwhelming majority of them good.

Mike, as an afterthought

you cannot sue the NY Police for "being slow and dragging their feet"
We have to be a bit more realisitic. What I would do, is hound the DAs office. I would call them daily, find out who is handling the case, get in touch with the local papers (certainly snakes would be an interesting attraction) and try to get an attorney to represent all the parties with access to the DAs office. If some seriousness is not shown, ..........who knows where this will end up!

Jerry,
Well put. I hate to admit it, but with all this "Snakes on a Plane" promotion (the new movie with Samuel L. Jackson), someone just might tweak a human interest brain cell with some reporter up there. Its the system, and stranger things have happened.

If this was a possibility I'd be a rich man ..... It took NY's Finest 3 years to get the guy who robbed my mother.

Justice can be slow...they just arrested someone in Jon Benet Ramsey's murder....and even though it took 10 years, it has finally happened. Have patience.

They had to find him, and they only found him because he confessed. With this situation they already know who did it, and probably know where he is. It's ridiculous that they may not even go after him because "only" ten people filled out some forms. They should go after this guy even if only one person filed, just because of the amount of overall damage he did. I wonder if someone could move up there and if they only robbed 9 banks would they be okay? Wait that's federal they would probably do something. If this was some guy who tricked the same amount of elderly people for the same amounts of money, they would have jumped all over him even if only one elderly victim filed charges. We're just a bunch of crazy people who spend good money on gross snakes so who cares.

My only point is that it took time, excuse me for the poor comparison. And excuse me for trying to have a positive outlook, and for trying to do something about it besides sitting here whining about other people not doing anything.

Cat,
If some folks would take the time to educate themselves a bit more with the thread, or the legal system, they wouldn't waste time with such uninformed posts. Besides, my money is on this creep not being the one that did in Jon Benet. Hope I'm wrong.

At this point in this venture, I would settle for an arrest at least, But lo and be hold there is nothing, Chris took moneys from alot of people, and because they were from out of state, NY isn't going to do to much, IMO this investigation is nothing more then a sham,By now the Fed's should of been involved for inter-state theft. But nothing, Only the words(Det. Brown) we are working on it. and just on another note if these people have to wait 10 years for justice, Well you can't get cash from a corpse.

I believe I mentioned about oh, 20 or 30 pages back that the federal authorities ARE involved, i.e. folks from the IC3 ( http://www.ic3.gov/ ) which consists of the FBI and the NWCCC.
Cat, My bad....But The point still remains......Chris is walking FREE No charges no nothing.....I have nothing invested in the criminal aspect of this....But my few pennies towards the civil suit is just sitting there waiting for the Law Enforcement peoples to do something, And from where I'm sitting they don't look like they are moving in any direction,And this is only showing people that when someone Rips off another person .....The phrase I'll see you in jail or in court is laughable don't you think?
