In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Touch of Class Reptiles

Jason,

You are right. There is no need to go back and forth posting communications anymore until the problem gets resolved. Best of Luck to you and Happy Holidays

One more typo,

In contrast the term "captive bred" does NOT mean "healthy". In practice as a student I have treated many captive bred specimens suffering with severe disease. I have also purchased captive bred individuals that later died as a result of disease. The risks and tolls are not far from similar.

Sorry for the confusion

Well just a few more days before the BOI is probably shut down and this important resource for our community is no longer available. People should really start getting their priorities straight and pony up the measly $25 (which will only seem even more measly once you get scammed) or risk losing this very important resource. I’m sure there’s lots of scammers and shady folks in our community watching and waiting for this to happen so they can more easily prey on us all so ACT NOW OR DON'T WHINE LATER.

Hey everyone, Jason Here,

I am pleased to announce that I have finally received $495.00 from Kelvin Soto, which posted to my bank account as of today. I do not consider this full compensation for the animals that have died and I am very displeased with the manner in which this transaction occurred, including the length of time taken to provide a due refund as well as Mr. Soto's willingness to provide me with the refund I deserved. No less, I am happy with the amount that I have received thus far and I will not be pursuing legal charges against Mr. Soto in light of this. I now consider this a closed matter of business and a learning lesson for myself. To those that join this thread in the future, I paid Kelvin Soto $550.00 for two W/C emerald tree boas advertised as "healthy and parasite free." This individuals became diseased while under Mr. Soto's care and later died after I received them. Through much unnecessary difficulty I have managed to receive a refund from Mr. Soto in the amount of $495.00 following weeks of unnecessary debate. The money that I received did not include reimbursement for the $5.00 paypal fee, the $50.00 for the cost of shipping of both individuals, or for the $200.00 in veterinary bills, which I had previously agreed to pay. I would like to thank Alex Estrada for his efforts as I truly believe this would not have happened without his help. As for Kelvin Soto..... Lets pray for the animals in his care, while hoping that his business ethics somehow manage to improve. I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to red this thread, I have appreciated your questions of both me and Mr. Soto and I certainly appreciate your support on this matter. Happy Holidays.

Ah, very glad to hear it. It's odd he didn't just issue a paypal refund (no paypal fee).

Alex, props if you had any part in this (and I'm sure you did).

That's awesome that you got pretty much what you paid for them!! Congratulations on the 'win' (in a sense) and I really hope that Kelvin has learned A LOT from this. Especially proper care of his animals even if his business sense does not.

I say you got what you paid (minus the $5 fee of course) because very very rarely does the seller reimburse shipping since yes the animals were shipped to you.

Again it really makes me happy that this matter is closed. And although it took weeks does make Kelvin look a little better. Thanks to Alex for his help in this.

Ive spent the better part of the day reading the 348 posts in this thread. I had decided to read the whole thing fully because I had planned on purchasing some lizards from TOC.

Id like to say congrats to the OP for finally getting the money promised.

Id also like to say that I will now be looking for a new breeder for the lizards I was interested in. My schedule may not be as hectic as the OP's... but I definitly dont need the possible headache's associated with purchasing from TOC... or in this case... lack of class.

I was shocked at the owners lack of respect in himself and his company and Id like to commend Alex on his part in getting the owner to do the right thing.

Now back to your regularily scheduled program.

This was still pretty much a loss on all accounts. Jason is still out time and money shipping and treating the snakes (But that was a known risk anyway. This was just way beyond acceptable), Touch of Class Reptiles is out on their integrity, and two snakes are dead.

At least Jason got back what he was owed, him and Alex Estrada showed their high integrity level, both parties learned a lot from this and others learned a lot too, some bets were won and lost, and I owe Alex Estrada lunch. Will you be at the NARBC Tinley Park show Alex?

And while it might take a little time to rebuild his reputation, Kelvin Soto and Touch of Class Reptiles does get to end this long thread as "issue resolved" and both parties reached a civil agreement. Thats better than a lot of threads make it.

Yup, it's a loss....but only if you don't think about $$ and trouble saved by avoiding Kelvin Soto. I'm glad Jason got something back, and I'm also glad Alex was able to help.

Autopsy photos?

Right when I though this story couldnt get any more odd This guy posts creepy autopsy photos of the snake.

Glad to hear that most of you enjoyed viewing the necropsy. I also have labeled full color dissections images of Chaunus marinus, Ambystoma tigrinum, Corallus grenedensis, Iguana iguana, Varanus exanthematicus and Alligator mississippiensis. They used to be posted on my website at www.avherp.com, but since google recently changed the format of their web server, they have become inaccessible to the public and I am in the process of reconstructing my website. If any of you have a particular interest in seeing more of these photos let me know and shoot me an email at [email protected] with the subject title "Dissection Request" and I would be happy to forward some additional learning materials for you. I understand that this is not sort of material everyone enjoys seeing, especially those with a weakened stomach which is understandable. For this reason, I will refrain from posting these photos on here, but I personally own the copyrights to these materials and I would be more than willing to share them with any parties interested in reptile and amphibian anatomy.

When I got an e-mail notification from fauna this morning, I decided I would not be the first to comment on someone being creeped out by the "autopsy" photos. But it is interesting to know there are people in this industry who have the..."it's a dead snake, throw it away" mentality. And I do like knowing who has that. I was hoping to see more people agree with that comment so I could put them in a special dealer file. Thank you.
