In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Touch of Class Reptiles

Hey everyone,

In response to "TailsWithScales," I have not purchased any new animals as of recent, but do have some perspectives that I am considering to complete my breeding stock. I'm a bit picky when it comes to these individuals based on color and pattern and I have been in the market, but none have been purchased as of yet.

Also "polasian" mentioned to me in an email that it may be a good idea to start a Q & A thread on the topic of "herp health" here on fauna. This would enable me, and many of you to post some additional materials for those who might be interested in some of the more technical aspects of herp health care. I am very willing to do this if others are interested and I am curious to know what types of discussion topics might be of interest to the general public on fauna? Lemme know if anyone is interested in a thread like this, please let me know and I will get some materials together for an open herp health discussion. Given the relevance to this thread I was thinking of beginning with either a detailed discussion of herp anatomy, or possibly the details of implementing an isolation protocol for new additions to a household collection and how to survail such diseases at home. There are numerous avenues we can take with a thread like this and the level of depth is infinite. I am interested in the general thoughts and suggestions of other members on fauna, so please, Lemme know if there are any topics in herp health that are of interest to some of you that you might wish to see discussed here on fauna? The sooner the better as I would like to get this thread rolling assuming that others are interested. Thanks again.

These are some of the discussion topics I considered, but again I am interested in yoru thoughts as some of these may be too trivial and others may be a bit complex for the general public and not very applicable to hobbyists in general. Lemme know your thoughts.

Metabolic disorders
Effects of husbandry parameters on herp physiology
Comparative anatomy between herp species (possibly relative to mammals)
The gross structure of herp anatomy relative to organ function
Common husbandry related diseases induced by inadequate captive conditions
Pathophysiology of disease agents and the risks associated with human exposure
At home disease surveillance and which types of annual testing are important to request of your veterinarian

These are just a few of my own ideas but if anyone has any particular areas of interest lemme know and we can get this started.

Well, since this has already been bumped, I have something I would like clarified.

Alex Estrada, I noticed that you have recently posted some classified ads for red eared sliders and some other animals. I specifically remember those animals being listed and pictured in ads from Touch of Class previous to this thread. So... I'm confused. If you don't still work for them, why are you posting their animals? Or are those animals actually yours?

Just for kicks and giggles, I started looking at both Alex' and ToC's classifieds here to see if there were any similarities. I didn't find similarities...but I did find this: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=158953 .

Is it just me, or does the first Pastel not look like the same snake's "additional pictures" posted later on in the ad?

Wow, I really wanted to back Alex on this one and say you are being too tough on him. But those are not the same snake. Starting from the tail stripe and moving up toward the head, it doesn't take long to see the patterns do not match up at all. They both look like nice pastels, and maybe it was an honest mistake, but come on man...

Oh well, I will still get ya lunch. Come to the Tinley Park show in Feb. to raise money to fight this S373 bill

No, it's not the same snake. Could be a honest mistake, but definitely not the same animal. The original snake pictured has a band that runs across the back, it is one spot up from where the tail stripe ends. The 2nd snake pictured does not have that. There are alot of other markers that don't match up as well. Try to trace the pattern from the tail up.

1st picture is the original snake, 2nd is the additional pic.

Again, the original threads posted by Touch of Class for the sliders no longer exist, but I can say with strong certainty that they did. They theoretically may not have been the same animals, but they were the exact same description.

It would make sense if he was still selling for Touch of Class that the original threads would be deleted. It would also make sense that they would be deleted if the ownership of the turtles transferred to Alex. I just want to know which situation is true.

Honestly, I think Alex is alright. They were probably his turtles and were being sold through ToCR on a commission contract (verbal). It really doesn't matter. I think this thread was enough to where everyone will proceed with caution with Touch of Class Reptiles, and Alex Estrada probably has a better chance at selling under his own name. But he does need to be careful and make sure he posts the right pictures of the animals he is selling or he will end up ruining his name worse than Touch of Class Reptiles already harmed him.

Ok. I was just curious if you had decided to get something else right now or not. In my opinion one should ALWAYS be picky about the reptile they're buying whether it's a breeder or pet. :D

I also think an 'ask the doc' section or something along those lines would be very very cool and a huge help. Of course disclaimers to that section would be VERY important to help protect those asking and more importantly answering questions. If that's what you're meaning?????
I would be more then willing to offer up the knowledge I know also and I always have questions. :D

I was mostly referring to the albino red eared slider and the albino leucistic red ear slider. I specifically remember seeing those in ads from Touch of Class a while back. They could be different turtles, but it's still a coincidence worth clarifying I think. The original threads posted by Touch of Class do not appear to exist anymore.

I never looked at the ball python.

Oh, I know. I figured it wouldn't be too off-the-wall to check all of his and ToC's current ads, too....

I'm not saying that he isn't alright, or that they are not his animals. I'm just saying that in my opinion, as a potential buyer now or in the future, it is worth clarifying. You're right, they could have been his animals to begin with and he was just selling them through ToC. But I don't know that, and that makes me uneasy.

That is totally fair Amanda, and this thread I suppose isn't just about the OP, it is about the business he posted his bad experience with. So if people are still uneasy with anything someone associated with ToCR posts, this would be the place to post it, and this would be where Alex has another chance to come explain.

In a way it stinks because it hides the "issue resolved" on the original topic a little, but that is a backlash that happens with shady dealings. You risk the shade covering the little light you brought out.

I have read this thread in whole and am left wondering/needing clarification on one very critical peice of the original transaction if I am ever going to do business with Alex as I sure will not do business with TOC. Alex did you or did you not know the animals you shipped were injured/wounded, was the glove/hand position intentional to hide wounds? If you did know were you forced to shipp them that way by the boss?

Hello Everyone,

I'm going to answer some questions here even though they have nothing to do with the topic that was at hand and was resovled. I see some people suggesting I'm selling for TOC. This is not true. I got those turtles from Strictly Reptiles in Hollywood,Fl. Also the female pastel is sold. The picture was a simple mistake.

Please if anyone as any questions you can feel free to email or PM me.

I think someone also asked if I knew the snake was sick? The answer is simple I did not know. They were in "apperant good health" I say this because they arrived in bad condition to Jason. Kelvin seperated the snakes and I put them in the box and shipped them out. But this dispute has already been settled and I did my part to help.

For everyone else that has not read the whole thread. I am no longer in anyway affliated with Touch of Class Reptiles.

Take Care,
Alex

I missed a very critical question. That was "Where the gloves covering the wounds on the snake intentionally?" No they were not. It is ironic that the fungus/ wounds or whatever they you would like to call them were on the neck. But the truth is the Gloves were not used to cover anything up.
