I have a hard time believing that someone actually paid $17K for the animal in Joe's ad.

As far as Steve goes, my understanding is that a friend of his bought a Woma from Kevin as a normal Woma. After some breedings, they thought the offspring looked different. My understanding is that Steve bought a Pewter Woma that he thought was a Pewter HGW, and began making his "HGW's" from that Pewter. If this is true, who is the guy in Colorado?

I have also heard that Kevin told this person in CO that his babies were HGW's, but now I kind of think that was a "phantom" conversation???

I tried to get some more background info on these two from other breeders I deal with and not one of them even want to really talk about them. I'd recommend caution with statements like that unless you or someone you know personally has been defrauded or ripped off by PHR.

The fundamental problem here is the uncorroborated tack PHR has taken with regard to the HG womas, the stubborn clinging to patently non-existent genes, and what many view as Mr. Capone's antagonistic market manipulation in the past. To the best of my knowledge and reading of the BOI, no one has ever claimed they were deceived by PHR, let alone received an unsatisfactory animal. It's more about their demeanor, especially towards other breeders and businesses, along with unsubstantiated claims about NERD as it relates to their own animals. Their business is just that and they can choose to bear the fallout of situations like this or not. But that doesn't excuse groundless accusations about their...um, ethics.

I'm glad this thread exists as it has done a fair job of furnishing information potential customers might want. It has certainly made me want to stay far away, but I don't believe it has ever been about scams.

The classifieds is not the place for any such in depth discussion about this topic, anyway, and that sort of activity would have gotten the thread locked by the moderators to end it. Quite likely most of the participants there would have earned infractions as well. I do believe there are more than enough forums on this site for such discussions, but the classifieds section is NOT one of them.

Something to the effect that if you purchase one of those animals and it does not produce a soul sucker etc... He will refund you the balance of what a normal woma goes for, because if he does not then in my opinion he has committed fraud.

I am not a cautious person and wouldn't say anything to anyone on here I wouldn't tell them to their face. This whole thing seemed like some sort of a scam to me from the start.

I think you said that wrong because if somebody paid 17,500.00 I don't think they'll be happy getting a refund of a couple hundred bucks when it doesn't prove out...lol

How about the time and money lost in breeding it as a HGW? Lets say I buy a male. I breed it to 6 Lessers. Get 8 eggs average pure female.... That means I lost seasons on them females. Or lets say I buy them females for the HGW I buy off of Joe.

MAybe I will do that and then sue him for losses after it does not prove.

Lot more would be lost then just a HGW

I guarantee my offspring genetically unlike anyone else because they can't period. I don't make claims that I can't back up.

You don't even see people advertising or selling Granite HGW's now because everything I said is true. If you don't like the truth I don't know what to tell you, nor do I care. I am 100% for the consumers not for you people that don't get it.
